I have been taking my animals to Green Prairie for years. They are the only vet in town with their own after hours emergency service. They also see exotics, and their San Jose location sees large animals. Their veterinarians are kind, educated, knowledgeable and approachable. Their technicians and assistants have a real, genuine passion and care for animals. And their front desk staff give you their undivided attention when they're actually juggling so many things.I can't even begin to say how grateful I am for the care my animals receive at Green Prairie. From wellness visits for new kittens to the family, to saying goodbye to my senior citizen bunnies and pocket pets in the middle of the night on the weekend... Green Prairie is always there for me and my family.

We had an emergency with our 17yo dog. The staff and Dr were amazing! I can't say enough about how caring and empathetic they were. It was a frightening situation for me but I knew from the moment we walked in the door our girl was in good hands. Dr Gretchen took great care of our fur baby.

I won't go anywhere else. The empathy and kindness of the staff surpasses any experience I've had at a vet's office. It is clean, they do their best to keep dogs and cats separated. Cats have their own room. I've never had to wait to go into a room and always willing to get you in immediately in case of an emergency. Dr. Gretchen and Heather and the best and most knowledgeable about cats.

The technicians and veterinarians are highly skilled, friendly, and have created a "fear-free" environment for pets. Recently, our sweet cat Rusty was sick and I called them frantic and upset and they did everything in their power to help us. Sadly, there wasn’t much we could do because he was terminal but when that process came they were the best people to go to. It’s been weeks and they check up and even sent us a card from the office which made my year! I cannot recommend them enough some of the sweetest and most patient people I’ve ever met!

We switched our senior dog to Green Prairie so that he could have a more senior-focused vet. The quality of the vet care was excellent, but they also took lots of time to make the visit as stress free as possible for our dog. I really appreciated the vet's approach to handling our dog and explaining everything to me. They also let you pay in the exam room so you don't have to wrangle a stressed dog in the lobby while trying to pay.

My cat has only been here twice, but the most recent time was the most at ease I have ever seen him at the vet. They have been so amazing in accommodating his anxieties and needs! You can tell they really want the best for the animals under their care.

After our normal vet could not get my sick dog in for an appointment, Prairiehaven was able to get us in that day. Dr. Gretchen was absolutely wonderful, taking the time to chat with us about options and treatment. The entire staff was wonderful and genuinely cared for my dog. I'm extremely happy with Prairiehaven and will bring my other dog in too.

I was traveling and woke up in the early morning on Saturday in a hotel in Springfield to find a tick embedded in my dachshund's neck. I Googled and found Pairiehaven, called and Dr. Gretchen answered. I told her the issue and she said bring her in, I was there in 10 mins (6:15 AM). Dr. Gretchen took her right in and removed the tick and did not charge me. This would be my Vet if I lived anywhere in the area!

We are from out-of-state and needed a vet; not an emergency but definitely needed to be seen. They were able to worked us in for an appointment quickly. Friendly, caring staff. Dr. spent lots of time with us, answering questions, giving advice. We felt very welcome and well cared for, even though we were not a regular patient. Clean facility, easy access and parking. Plenty of room for my furbaby to "go outside". I would give more stars if I could. Amazing people. I can't say enough nice things about them.

I am a new dog owner so I have not have much experience picking vets out. My puppy was having an issue that needed same day attention and Prairiehaven was the only place (out of about 8 vets I called) that would see him same day. The staff were super friendly, and I felt welcomed even though they knew I have been going to another vet for my puppy’s care. The doctor was great. He sat on the phone with me for about 25 minutes addressing questions I had. Not once did I feel like he was rushing me off the phone to get on with his day, he actually cared and took his time addressing my concerns. I felt like they genuinely cared about us! I am considering switching vets because I was amazed with how well they treated us.

I was highly impressed with PrarieHaven Animal Hospital. My dog Bella was kept overnight for observation after having to drop her off to be evaluated due to her not acting right. They were very patient with me and understanding that my dog is my best friend and I have high anxieties without her. They allowed me to bring one of her blankets up there and came out to get it from me so she felt more at home. They sent out a text message last night to inform us on how she was doing. I have never had anywhere I have previously taken my dog do that for us. I would recommend them to anyone. My Bella was very well taken care of and I was given thorough information from the office and the techs that work there on how she was doing. I'm thankful beyond words. Great Work!

My pet was extremely sick. (He had a urinary blockage) I called several places and every place I called was too busy. When I called Prairiehaven they were busy also but asked me to hold for a moment and when they came back on the line said to get him in as soon as possible. Not only did they save my pets life. They were very informative and caring... not only to my boy but to me as well. Just very compassionate and loving staff. I will forever be grateful for them.

What an awesome experience! I've never seen such a loving caring staff! I didn't feel pressured at all to have certain things done that wasnt in my budget today nor did I feel like another number waiting patiently to be called upon! The office was clean, entire staff were so genuinely sweet and thoughtful, even our cat was relaxed! It's hard switching from a vet we've been going to for 10 years that I love, but since this one is closer to our home and recommended from a friend, thought we'd try it out! Couldn't be more pleased!

I love Prairiehaven ,the staff is always very friendly,helpful and polite. Each one of the Doctors we have seen are very knowledgeable and I have full confidence in them. We were very fortunate to have found them considering one of our doge had a life threatening injury and Dr. George had the skills and knowledge to do surgery immediately and give all treatment necessary to bring our little one through it,which we will be forever grateful! Simply the BEST!

My daughter was visiting from out of town when her 12 year old dog got sick with vomiting and bloody stool. Though they were overbooked the day we called, the gave us an early morning appointment for the next morning and instructions for care until that appointment. When going to the appointment EVERYONE from the reception, techs and vet, were absolutely amazing. You could absolutely tell they love animals and their work. Would rate 10/5 if I could!!

We take all our furry family here. Every person we have met is so nice and speaks to you respectfully and uses words that are understandable ( not jargon). We have taken our 4 year old cat, our (2) 10 year old littermate senior dogs, and our newest addition, a 9 week old puppy, here and been pleased with every visit. The vets have even been willing to do part of an exam with my cat in my arms, because that is what made her comfortable. Great people and a great place to take your animals! The fact that it is in Sherman, when I live 1.5 miles away ( instead of 10 miles into Springfield), is a very pleasant bonus!!!

It was my first time with my cat, we were honestly terrified. Dr Jeremy and his assistant (I forgot her name but God bless her soul) were absolutely amazing in how they took care of my cat compassionately, and answered my endless list of questions. Dr. Jeremy (& the entire staff team @ Prairiehaven) was very thorough and compassionate when treating our kitty. They also really understood our limited funds & helped us by forming a treatment plan for our kitty which fit in our budget. A very good facility with attentive, caring people who I highly recommend.

We had our appt at Prairie Haven In Sherman. Bentley had his teethcleaned plus four extractions. We were very pleased with the carereceived by him. From the time we entered and was greeted by a friendlyoffice person to the explanation of what they planned todo to the callswe received during and after his procedure to the way the staff treated(and talked to Bentley) to our meeting before taking him home. After my Dog was Diagnosed with cancer, she is still as happy and playful dog as ever if she is on her medication. However the vet deemed her to be on hospice care. Refuses to treat her as any other dog just because of her diagnosis. I am a dog owner of her for 10 yrs and however long she has left on this earth she should be treated like any other dog. I refuse to believe the care not properly provided is ridiculous.
