There is no other place I would take my furry babies. The Doctors and the staff are the best of the best and are amazing people. They are caring, compassionate, understanding, and take amazing care of our animals. I highly recommend this clinic to everyone. ❤️

Be very careful when taking your pets for overnight care at Shelby Veterinarian Clinic in Shelbyville IL.... My dog had to have an overnight stay due to a health issue that requires more than one stay. The first stay she smelled like urine to the point I never wanted to sent her back but I didn't want to take the risk of switching vets in the midst of her treatment... within a week and a half of the first stay she developed a bladder infection I suspect due to not being taken out and sitting in her own filth for extended amount of time. The second stay was for 2 days and I asked for updates after the treatments to check in and I was given none so I called they never listed any concerns and it was a Saturday when I picked her up and when I say the stench was so bad that my eye were watering and I had to pull over within the block, well there are no words to describe that stench. When I called because once again after that stay we are dealing with another bladder infection I began to voice my concerns the receptionist Brandi hung up on me. PLEASE UNDERSTAND MY DOG HAS NEVER HAD A BLADDER INFECTION AND NOW WE ARE 2 FOR 2!!! I decided to call off work and go in because I've spent well over a grand within these last couple months and so they took me into a back room where no one could see or hear what went on and when I told Dr Morrow I was hung up on by Brandi.. Brandi snapped back "I did not!" And needless to say I became assertive and simply ask in a firm bold voice "Why do you think I have lost a day of pay, my time, and gas to come to talk in person with an issue that could have been resolved over the phone?" Doctor Morrow allowed that type of behavior from Brandi and treated me as I was in the wrong and dropped us as patients. Reality is they feel they are entitled to treat dogs and customers how they please because they are the only vet in Shelbyville and no one goes back to actually examine what kind of conditions their beloved animals are in.... Go figure on their fb page there is no options for review... I guess if that was how I was treating I individuals and how I conducted business I wouldn't want others finding out... Shelby Veterinarian Clinic moto they conducted themselves by is "things that happen behind closed doors simply don't exsist!!!"

They are phenomenal people and absolutely great to work with! Personable and caring staff as well as vets. Only thing I wish is they would decide to be more involved with more of the reproductive side of dogs also. Could not ask for a better group of people.

Went there numerous times and had amazing service. Had to have a cat put down and the receptionist asked "can you hurry up and get her here so we can get it done". No compassion for the humans in the situation and we were made to feel like we werw at fault. Taking our pets elsewhere was the best option for us.

We have been taking our pack of puppies to Brix since we got them 17 years ago and have always gotten great service. As our pack has gotten smaller over the years Brix provided sympathetic help through some tough losses. The staff there has changed some but the spirit of love and compassion for animals has not. We are completely satisfied with the services they have provided us and we will as always count on them to take care of our fuzzy family members.

I feel the waiting area is too small even though it is divided. It makes it too easy for pets to feel threatened in a small environment especially the size of our dog. I also feel that the receptionists feel cramped for the amount of patients you see. Furthermore it would be nice to see you expand to a daycare similar to what Mt. Zion has (Ruffin It). Since you have a monopoly for the area I think it is time for you to consider some serious changes! All in all I still like you guys, your staff is great!

Very compassionate and friendly staff. We are from out of town and had brought our 15 yr old pup camping for one last hoorah and she past shortly after we got unpacked. We were in a bind and and didn't know what to do so we called Brix. The staff was very understanding and caring. Thank you!!

I had always taken my animals here when I lived in Shelbyville with my parents. After I moved, I didn't really want to make the drive from Decatur every time we needed a vet so I started taking my cats to a vet in town.Yesterday we noticed our cat, Moe, was acting very lethargic, not acting like his usual self, he eventually started acting confused and did not move out of one spot, which is very unlike him. By the time we had realized all of this it was after hours on a Friday night. The vet we had been going to didn't have an after hours option. We live in Decatur so we took him to an emergency vet in Springfield. They stated he had arthritis and to follow up with our regular vet.. Woke up this morning and he was acting even worse, seeming like he was in pain and going in and out of consciousness almost. I called my mom in a panic as I couldn't miss work and she came to get him and took him to Shelby Veterinary Service since that is where our family has always gone. We didn't have a prior appointment but they were able to get him in anyway (and I can't thank them enough). The first thing Dr. Morrow spoke about when she called with my mom was that he was jaundiced and how that was alarming.. the emergency vet said NOTHING about him being jaundiced. She ran some tests and found out it was his liver and he was not doing well at all. She communicated everything we needed to know clearly, and was kind and compassionate to all of us; Moe, my mom at the clinic, and us over the phone. My mom said that the tech that was working with him was super kind and helpful as well.Will be making the drive from Decatur anytime my cats need vet care from now on. Thank you for everything you've done for our family, including helping our Raccy pass peacefully last year.Shelby Vet Service deserves your business and your furry pals deserve the care they give.

Everyone a Brix Veterinary is extremely kind and caring toward my pets. I have been taking all my animals there my whole life and never plan on changing that. Now, they offer the opportunity to schedule your appointments and that makes the trip that much easier. Especially if you have a pet that gets anxious while waiting.

I took my dog to Brix in an emergency situation. Dr. Ward told me on the phone that the price would be based on what was done in the office. After I brought my dog in and Dr. Ward did what she could, my dog passed away. We then discussed options on how to lay her to rest. I wanted to know how much money everything would cost, all together, so I asked Dr. Ward what I owed for everything they did. She gave me a price. I picked up my deceased dog the next day, to bring her home to lay her to rest. When I walked in, it took Carla 15 minutes to acknowledge me. She was not on the phone nor was she with another customer. She was simply doing paperwork and didn’t make eye contact with me. After she asked what I needed I told her. Before going to get my dog she told me a price that was $112 higher than what Dr. Ward had said. After Carla argued with me I reluctantly paid and ask if I spoke with Dr. Ward and got the price confirmed, if they would reimburse my card. Carla said “Sure”. This was July 15th. I have called everyday and left a “message” for Dr. Ward. Not only has she not called me back, I’m not sure if she’s even getting my messages. Carla has been extremely rude to me every time I call, at one point she even said “You know how I feel about the situation”. She should not be in customer service. I can say that Dr. Ward was very kind when my dog passed away and I do believe she tried everything she could, but after I left that day it has been nothing but a horrible experience.

They are so genuinely kind and care deeply about their patients. I traveled 1.5 hours to get my cat neutered there. He had a hard time after surgery and I had to make an appointment 6 days later. Dr. Jarboa (sorry if I spelt that wrong) was so sweet! I called back that afternoon on how he was doing. She didn't hear from me the next day so she called to see how he was doing which I thought was so extraordinary. We will continue going there.

Brixis a very good place to take your pet or your farm animal. The staff really cares,listens, then gives you good information. I had to put my dog Sugar down. The vet let me stay with her as she passed away. My hands caressed her. I told her not to be afraid. I gave her kiss good bye. I hope this eased her passing. I know I made the right decision. Saying good-bye made me feel much better.

Great place and everyone is amazing and nice... the plus side is they take time to make sure your furry babies are comfortable with them before they even start treatment also treated my sons therapy duck with same calmness.. highly recommend this place

We have known Doc Brix for years and have now worked with Annette quite a few times, as well. Both are WONDERFUL! We have cattle, sheep, and dogs. They are professional and very knowledgeable. For emergencies, they come to the farm right away, which is something you can't find hardly anywhere anymore. They were also really compassionate and caring when our dog had surgery for a broken leg.

We have been taking our dogs here for years. Very nice staff and they were very thorough with testing when we thought our chocolate lab was dying, turned out he had pancreatitis, he stayed for 2 days and is now doing good.
