I would highly recommend Dr Witt and his staff! The staff was very welcoming and Dr Witt was very kind and explained everything well. Morgan was fun and was so helpful while picking out frames.

Dr. Witt provides expert care and takes his time with each patient, providing thorough explanations of eye health, the details of any eye condition, and treatment processes. He is also very good with children. The staff are also kind and patient.

I had my eye exam at the Savoy location back in August, my prescription keeps fluctuating a bit over time and it’s so good to have my contacts up to date again.The staff were all friendly, and they helped me get lenses that are a cheaper packaging of the same contacts I’ve been using for years. I don't have good vision insurance, but t
he out-of-pocket cost for everything was super reasonable and they have a time-of-service discount.I loved that my optometrist (Dr. Rix! He was nice and so good at answering my questions) was wearing a mask. Optometrists have to be so close to you to do their job! Think how many people are breathing in their faces all day. It means a lot to me that Dr. Rix is keeping patients safe: my dad has lymphoma and I can’t risk bringing anything home. It would be cool if they had air purifiers too.I will definitely be back next year!

Had such a great experience with the doctor and the entire staff, so welcoming and friendly. I received my glasses on a timely manner that l ended up buying prescribed sunglasses, so I received an email saying that my sunglasses are in, so I called and advised them that I was having issues with my prescribed glasses and they made an appointment to my convenience so they could take care of my issue. Thanks Chittick 👍🏽

Dr. Witt took time to share his opinion and decision for my vision. He is thorough and good at explaining the unfamiliar concept of his views of my eye health. The staff is courteous and helpful, conscientious and polite. The office is clean and pleasant. What more do we want? Very expensive though.

I have been to Chittick Eye Care at both their Rantoul and Savoy facilities. The medical office assistants and medical receptionists were patient and informative. The optometry technicians explained thoroughly what they were going to do before starting any procedure and were good at giving thorough directions for me to follow so that everything was done efficiently. The optometrist, Dr. Ryan Witt, is personable, knowledgeable, and able to explain in layman's terms what is going on in the eye. He gives options for treatment and is easy to talk to about any concerns. I had cataract surgery this summer at his recommendation and went from being unable to see the BIG 'E' on the eye chart to having 20/20 vision. Chittick Eye Care is wonderful!

On May 22, 2023, an appointment scheduler with Chittick told me that since I did not have vision insurance but I was diabetic, that my medical insurance would fully cover an eye exam and they could code the billing under a medical blah blah whatever codes they use. I accepted this answer and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Rix. We went through the appointment and they sold me on some $20 or $40 upsell I don't remember now, an extra vision scan that no insurance covers. I accepted this upsell. I went through the entire exam and Dr Rix didn't mention a single word about this upsell, so right from the get-go I kinda felt cheated. But anyway, I went through the after-appointment consult with another guy (wishing I had names at this point). At the end of the consult, I asked for my prescription paper. The guy said at this point, we do require payment in full first BEFORE we can give this prescription paper to you and it was some god-awful amount of $200+ dollars. After explaining to him what the appointment scheduler told me my medical insurance would fully cover it minus the co-pay, he went away for a good 5 minutes and came back and told me this was a new-hire scheduler and her information was not accurate. After telling him this is what I agreed to and she knew I had minimal money up-front, he specifically told me to not worry about a thing and that his billing department would take care of any additional costs in full. I specifically asked if he was sure, including the co-pay and he repeated several times to not worry about any more financials and again, his billing department would take care of everything in full including co-pay; do not worry about anything money-wise. At that point, this guy handed me my prescription paper & let me go about my day.I got my prescription fulfilled at Walmart and I'm not kidding, I actually see worse, esp. at night and when trying to read books up close. It has gotten so bad that I finally broke down & got a second opinion/prescription at Eye Mart in Champaign. Funny thing, the receptionist at Eye Mart said they've been getting a LOT of incoming patients from Chittick Savoy wanting second opinions over the past few months. Sure enough, my new Eye Mart prescription isn't even close to what Dr. Rix prescribed about four months prior. I can only assume my new prescription is correct because Dr. Rix's prescription has left my vision blurry from the start & Walmart (who crafted my lenses) says I just need to wear them for awhile and get used to them after explaining to Walmart that they were blurry walking out the door with the new glasses on.I guess all this is fine and dandy except for now, Chittick has called me numerous times and now I am staring at a "FINAL" letter (that I can barely read funny enough) stating they want $90 that insurance did not cover. Umm, this is completely contradictory to what I was told by that original appointment scheduler AND the after-exam consult dude at Savoy. Furthermore, I finally returned Chittick's phone calls and spoke to someone over the phone with Chittick billing in Danville on October 3rd at 4:06pm for 11 minutes and she said she would call me back. No one ever called me back and I now have this "FINAL" letter dated Oct. 9th or they're gonna send the $90 amount due to a collections agency. Did I say that NO ONE has called me back yet and I got this FINAL letter instead?!?!Be VERY leery about your vision exam AND the money Chittick says it's gonna cost you!! I work as an automotive mechanic and we have a saying: if you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one! Well, in this case, I had to pay for and get ANOTHER eye exam done, I have to pay MORE money for ANOTHER set of lenses so I can at least see at night and maybe read something in front of my face... PLUS I guess I'm gonna end up paying Chittick their $90 they're crying about so badly for an exam that has done zero/negative for me in the first place! And before you ask, YES, I have to type this without any glasses on because I cannot see what I'm typing with them on!!

Service here has always been fantastic. very friendly, professional, they will explain what is going on and talk to you. I have been at places that hardly say ten words to you the whole exam. Chittick may come across on high side when you are purchasing glasses, they have many more affordable options and plans. People want style and all the extras but don’t want to pay for it and then complain. If you’re expecting to get prescription sunglasses and all these extra lens options then you are going to have to pay.Overall, Chittick is still one of the best places around for eye care.

Glasses quality is ok for the price. They took more than a month to make. The glasses last a little less than a year before the lenses popped out of the frame.

Dr Witt is amazing! I have been having ongoing issues with my left eye. And of course it flared up on a Saturday! But he was able to see me, take his time with me, and get me back on the treatment I needed. Thank you to everyone in the Savoy office.
