Fantastic garden center! My local Home Depot has a very poor selection, especially for indoor plants. Most of the plants are usually on deaths doorstep. It's worth making the hour drive to go to this Home Depot instead if I'm looking for plants/plant related items. They've got a pretty expansive selection inside and out. Its easy to find and parking is fairly stress free. It's not as big as the ones in Chicago (duh) but it's definitely worth the visit!

Home Depot in Peru has gone above and beyond to troubleshoot the errors made by Superior. Andrea and Dan have helped immensely with putting together all the pieces needed to get our home completed.*Update: Adding a star at this time as I did receive a call from Jordan on 03/12. I was able to get some solid information to help know the next steps.03/11/24:Sharing in hopes that others will have a different experience with Jordan D. through Superior Installations, (an Authorized Service Provider for The Home Depot).There is consistent lack of communication, such as no follow-up calls when he has actually set the date for such follow-ups as well as the preferred method of communication. (All of our communication should involve the services we have purchased at Home Depot, as we have put trust in them in the amount of approximately $45,000 for a home renovation).Nevertheless, this particular aspect of the renovation (flooring installation) continues to have many questions left unanswered, including a (current) couple-week gap with no work being completed. We took it upon ourselves to deep dive and research aspects of flooring installation on our end.During a phone call prompted by me (one day after Jordan set the date to follow-up that never occurred), I inquired about why only certain areas of the baseboards were completed. All we were told, initially, was that we were waiting for transition pieces. He seemed perplexed. Once I sent images to attest to this, he did respond after “looking into it,” stating it was “because door casing was not yet installed.” We had previously been asked about door casing; we were also told that there would be no interference regarding casing and the flooring installation. This turned out to be inaccurate and was not communicated; I’m still not sure how we would have known had we not felt that something seemed “off” and probed a bit further on our own.We were hopeful that we could rely on professionals to help facilitate the renovation and help with keeping us informed with their expertise/knowledge. Most of all, it’s one of the primary reasons we have invested in all services through Home Depot (again, around $45,000).It’s only been through rigorous research and what feels like another full-time job of sorts (on top of our healthcare careers) that we’ve essentially had to piece together the process ourselves.When I’ve asked for clarification or feedback from the aforementioned individual, it has been oddly unhelpful and extremely vague.I’m hoping that our floor installation through Home Depot will be completed and that Jordan can utilize his job description of building relationships with Home Depot locations to help answer our questions and communicate effectively.I’m happy to update this review moving forward & any would greatly appreciate Home Depot and its service providers giving guidance as to how to proceed.

On March 13, 2024, I purchased a Frigidaire dishwasher to match the refrigerator I purchased from you. Some work needed to be done first to install. I set delivery date to May 5th. Things moved along and I rescheduled the delivery date to April 27th. On the 26th, I received a call stating the delivery site didn’t receive the dishwasher and could I change it to the 30th. That was fine. I texted on the 29th to try and get an estimated time of delivery. The delivery site still didn’t receive the dishwasher but no one called this time.So, when I texted I got Jacob, who actually did his job and found it was on back order until May 15th.So it wasn’t coming the original date set for May 5th. What kind of service is this? Thank you Jacob for letting me know and not having to have someone at my house waiting for something that an incompetent person didn’t follow through with.Wasting time for the customer! I choose Home Depot over Sherman’s because of the good service with my Frigidaire refrigerator. Guess that really was a shot in the dark! Next is a stove. Have to really think about that choice.

Ordered a washing was supposed to be delivered at 6 get a text at 730 saying was delivered no washing machine in site I’m out 700 dollars and they say they’ll work on it after the fact I tookmy trailer up there to get it because it said online it was in stock when it wasn’t then on top of it had to pay a delivery fee what a joke

I bought a new microwave from this store. The delivery installer that came damaged my cabinets, the wall, my granite countertop and the new microwave. My wife heard them damage it. When I confronted him he tried to get me to sign off on it. Then I made him remove the new damaged microwave. He got upset, left all the drilled wood shavings everywhere, grabbed the microwave and ran out the door before I could get pictures or even confront him futher. I should called the police. I discovered the chipped coutertop after I cleaned the mess from the granite.I had to be on the phone for at least 2 hours. They have to send out an adjuster for the damage assessment to my house.Home Depot is not covering this themselves. I will never buy another product from them. I spoke with the store manager Sonny and all he said he would do is place another claim. I'm very upset to say the least. Do not buy any applience from this store.

We went to several places for laminate flooring. Home Depot had the best price and the best selection to pick from. The staff was very helpful and answered all of our questions. They brought everything up front and loaded our car for us. The thing I really liked was the associate actually said if you have any questions or concerns during our first time putting laminate floors in “just give us a call and we will do everything we can to help you”. I felt pretty confident that everything would turn out fine with that extra assurance. Great selection/Great pricing/Great staff/Clean store/Plenty of parking/Everything was in stock…. What more could you ask for. Highly recommend A+++++++

Excellent customer service! I can't say enough. As soon as we walked in the isle we needed,we were greeted cheerfully by a young girl named Alex. She personally walked us to the areas we needed. Then her and another associate Louie loaded our PVC for us. I have to say,I will be a regular patron to Home Depot! Sorry Menards

I bought a washer on the 3rd and was told it would be delivered and installed on the 4th. Then they changed it and said it would be delivered on the 7th. On the evening before the 7th, I got a text saying it wouldn't be delivered till the 10th. On the 10th, they delivered and installed the washer. After they left and I had done two loads of clothes, I discovered that my clothes were washed and rinsed in boiling hot water because they had connected the cold water hose to the hot water and the hot water hose to the cold. I called right away and they said they couldn't send anybody out until the 14'th. On the 14th, the installer called and said he would be there within a half an hour. I told him I had already switched the hoses by myself but that he needed to come check them to be sure I had done it right. He said he would call someone and call me right back. He never called me back and he never showed up. I will never buy anything from Home Depot ever again.

I needed help to get a part for the more powerful 40volt Ryobi, but was told I couldn't have it delivered to the store for pickup up and my only options were home delivery or drive all the way to a Home Depot in Oswego just to get the part and I felt a lack of enthusiasm to try to help me out.

It's hard to find what you're looking for. Staff is always standing around talking to each other. Prices are higher than Menards, if they carry what you're looking for. Last year the garden center was awful. Dry and dead plants all over. A big plywood sign said there was a sale, but no price signs told you which items were actually on sale. The door alarms are always going off when I shop there, but staff just walks by like they don't hear it. Worst Home Depot I've been to.

I received terrible treatment from the “supervisor” Mark and the manager Brian. We purchased a Milwaukee trimmer for $300 that included a free battery. We made the purchase, on the app and selected the free battery. When I arrived at the customer service area for my pick up they handed me the trimmer but not the battery and said have a good day before even allowing me to say anything. I told the young lady that my free battery was missing and without skipping a beat the alleged supervisor said “it’s obviously in the box” to which I said the battery that’s included is in the box but not the free extra battery. He then stated that I “must’ve done something wrong” and there was nothing they could do. I showed them the online promotion and the store promotion and he said it was my fault for not selecting the battery even though I had. My frustration is that instead of helping the customer, he simply kept stating I must’ve ordered wrong. Additionally, every time someone walked in that was Caucasian he would greet them as polite as possible but when someone would come in that was not, he wouldn’t even acknowledge their existence. I was extremely uncomfortable and frustrated with the lack of customer service from….customer service. I will no longer shop at this particular Home Depot.

A lot of my purchases have went to online stores because things they no longer carry things such as pipe heat tape. Used to be a good place to go for all my farm and hardware needs. Good thing we have a Menards across the road as well as Rural King.

When did writing a check for purchases become such a bad thing? I made a $4400.00 purchase yesterday at the Home Depot in Peru and noticed that 2 of the items I purchased, a washer and dryer, were higher than the price I saw on the price card. So I thought ok, I'll get a store credit and use it to come back for a refrigerator. Upon dealing with their customer service, I had 4 or more people tell me, "You write a check, we write a check." And it was not the statement, but how they said it. It wasas though they were saying how dare you write us a check. So the way they handle refunds is by writing you a check and mailing it to you which could take 2 to 3 weeks for you to receive it. And rather than give me a refund for the difference, they refunded the entire sale price of the 2 items in the amount of $2200. So now, I not only needed to cover the $4400 check Iwrote, but I needed to cover the $1900 for the correct items that I needed to purchase. Now I'm out $6,300! To do this simple transaction took over 2-1/2 hours! The head manager of the store was this woman who acted as though she owned the store, except an owner would know better than to treat a customer the way she treated me. She was rude, never smiled or apologized and said, "next time be careful to pick the right items"! There were 2 set of items which were exactly the same items, but slightly different in color and located on either side of the aisles. If they were side by side, I would have noticed the difference. I saw the price on the set I wanted and when I said I wanted this set, located opposite each other, I thought they were exactly the same, not realizing the difference in the color. I went back to the salesperson (who was genuinely nice and understanding) and told him I wanted to cancel the entire order. So to make a long story short, they lost a $4400.00 sale over a $300 refund! Would you hire a manager like that?

When I ordered my flooring I told the young man taking order that I needed it within a week. I asked him it didn’t come in, in that week if I could cancel order and get something that was in stock. He said it wouldn’t be a problem. Know they are telling me I have to pay over 100$ fee to cancel order. If kid would of told me that, I wouldn’t of ordered it. Now the job is not going to be done bye the time she gets back from vacation .

They've cleaned this place and look to have gotten lots of new inventory. The young man who helped me pick up my online order was very friendly, efficient, and helpful. He was exceptional at customer service.The only negative is that not a single person in this store (except me) was wearing a mask. Mask requirements have been relaxed for those already vaccinated and for people outdoors. That doesn't mean no masks. There were thirty people or so in the store.As I said, the only one wearing a mask was me. I've been fully vaccinated, but there's no harm in being cautious. But I took mine off and stuffed it in my pocket rather than antagonize others.

The paint department is fantastic wasn't sure on what to use or get for a dark color up. He did a wonderful job getting to the exact match of color pink we wanted. My project turned out amazing. I appreciate all your help

By far the most difficult HoDe I’ve ever visited. Several occasions they’ve dropped the ball.1) I’ve never had the slightest trouble making a phone sale until I was outright denied at this store.2) I was told I couldn’t pick up an appliance order as it had already been marked for delivery. Fine. It was supposed to be delivered today, no scheduling call ever came, so I called and they said because I wanted to pick up they didn’t put it on the truck. Which is it? Can I pick it up or not? Thanks for canceling the order without telling me. (No email confirmation they just wiped me off the schedule without warning)I should say thanks though cause I’m about to save $100 on the set by going to MENARDSThis store has lost my business for good. A terrible tarnish on the HoDe name.

Lots of issues when ordering plain white "stock" cabinets. Communication about when the items were in was terrible. 1 cabinet took over a month to come in. 2 arrived damaged, however, they would discount them if I accepted delivery on them.

Great store. Easy to find what you need. Store personnel are friendly and knowledgeable. Parking lot is large and setup well. Check outs are easy to get through. If I was to suggest any kind of a change, it would be the amount of stuff in the front aisle way. Can be difficult to maneuver through when you have a big cart with long items on it

Two workers were at the checkout, told us to use self checkout, we walked over there, a worker was gonna help us, but never did. What is going in that only self checkout was being used, and everyone was rude.... there was 1 worker at the end that did help is and he was pleasant.

We have been purchasing from the Home Depot in Peru IL for almost 3 years after relocating to the area. Everyone at this store is professional and knowledgeable. We work directly with the pro desk the majority of the time. Mike, Alex, Sarah and Justin are extremely helpful. Most of my calls are from the job site and they are quick to answer my questions and process my orders. I would recommend this store to any homeowner or contractor looking for quality and professional customer service. Thank you to the Peru team.

Bought fridge, stove, microwave, dryer, and dishwasher. They were over an hour late, didn’t install the dishwasher which we paid to have installed and they would not bring in any of the appliances into the house because the delivery guy said he was to tall…..that’s right the delivery guy was to tall not appliances. Took a day off work for this…..call les Home Depot all they said is we would have to reschedule…….seriously!!!!!!!!

Back employees are very helpful. Cashiers are dumb as rocks and are to lazy to actually help customers. If an item isn't priced it's not my job as a customer to figure out the price, I'm here to buy said item from you not do your job.

Best hardware and so much more!! Associates are always so helpful.You can count on assistance from each and every associate there.I should know, because I worked at Store1977 for 17 years. Each one of us was thoroughly trained in specific departments, as well as customer service skills. It truly is a wonderful company to work for, and be a part of. Very"close knit" caring people ,too.
