This place is legit! My compliments to the proprietor and the incredible staff for serving excellent food and beverages, not only quickly but with a friendly disposition too. You might question if you woke up in NYC when you try one of these perfect (IMHO) bagels and their house made cream cheese flavors (the cucumber is my favorite!). I make a point to seek out a box of cookies on the counter while there and have never been disappointed. If you get there early enough then you might get to choose an egg bagel; pictured is my egg bagel with cucumber cream cheese, tomato and bacon. I’ve lived in and visited many places and this little breakfast/lunch spot is a treasure by any standard! Peruvians, you’re so lucky!!

Delicious coffee, bagel sandwiches, muffins and more! The pistachio muffins are especially good. Great customer service and cozy atmosphere. Indoor seating is limited.

Great place! Staff always pleasant. Best muffins within a 50 mile radius (I know of none better anywhere). Nice sandwiches made from scratch. Nice expressos. Huge selection of teas. The octagonal architecture is worth a visit in itself. Great stop Peoria to Chicago. The owner is a big supporter of local animal shelter. Bring old towels.

Love the food! I love their bagels! My favorite sandwich is the Chipotle chicken on a ciabatta bun. They have great choices of coffee and other drinks along with other specialty items. But there are a few things they could improve on: the consistency of the food and customer service. I love it when the sauce on my sandwich is dripping off, but there are times it is scrimped on and I can barely taste it. Once when I asked for more sauce I was told that the person that had made it, made it correctly. I was also charged extra when I asked for it the next time, so I no longer ask for extra. There have been numerous times when I go in and the table I want to sit at is dirty. I go over and get the cloth and spray (which is located on top of the garbage can area) and I wipe off the table because I don’t want to sit at a dirty table. No one says a word to me. It costs over $11-12 for a sandwich and a fountain drink. I like the convenience of the location as it’s close to where I work, but sometimes the wait for my sandwich isn’t worth it. If they could improve on their customer service, I would give them 5 stars.

This place is the best! I have been coming here since I was a child and honestly, their bagels are great, muffins are seriously the best I’ve ever had anywhere, and the bbq chicken sandwich is excellent. Their iced tea is always very good too. Truly, a great hometown spot we are so lucky to have.

One of my FAVORITE places in the area. There are so many items I love here it’s hard to decide what to get when I get there! Depending on my mood, I’ll either go with an Everything Bagel with Veggie Cream Cheese, a Choco Chip Bagel with Choco Chip Cream Cheese, a Cinnamon Sugar Bagel with Frosting, or their Black Bean Burger on an Everything Bagel and Plain Cream Cheese instead of Mayo. They also have the best cinnamon crunch muffin EVER and their donuts are good too! Cannot express how much I love coming here. To top it all off, the service here is top notch. You can either order ahead and pick up at the window or come in to be welcomed by one of the sweet workers. Highly recommend!

Love their Reuben sandwich! Really tasty and a good price. Delicious coffee and bagels as well and a super comfortable space to relax. Noticed they had a wide variety of teas from which to choose. Will definitely return to try more of their offerings.

I have been going to this place since I was a child. Their muffins are to die for! Plus they just got this new chai tea blend that is amazingly spicy without being sickly sweet like how everyone else makes it. SO GOOD! And the swiss bagel with veggie cream cheese, oh man. I could go on and on about their amazing products, but don't trust my word for it. Go check it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Highlander Grog is the best coffee I have ever had. They have other great ones too. All of the bagels and morning sweet are off the chain. I love the Blueberry Muffin Tops and the Apple Pie Muffin/Blueberry/Chocolate muffins are all great. Hands down my favorite bakery, highly recommend you go there... NOW!

Was traveling through the area and wanted to stop for a while. Super cute busy cafe! Homemade cream cheese was delicious but I wouldn't pay for the "egg on a plate"- tastes like a plastic microwaved egg

This place is delicious! The assortment of bagels and cream cheeses are wonderful. Plus the staff is so friendly and helpful. They were very patient and familiar with the menu and food as I made my order. I’d definitely recommend a stop here if you are in the area.

Best bagels in the area! Top notch I just wish they were open more often, and had a jalapeno cheddar bagel... But honestly I have never had a bad item from here. Well worth it!

Our food was fine but the bagels were flavorless. Both the everything bagel and cheddar oregano bagel tasted like a plain. Despite our request for toasted bagels, they were barely warm. Also, the soda was very low on syrup.

"Best Bagels Anywhere!" That is what their sign out front reads. Bold statement, but I challenge you to find a better one, coupled with the fresh flavored cream cheese it makes for a treat unchallenged in the Illinois valley. Tried other pastries (like the croissant) and they are just as good. Discovered this place about three weeks ago and have eaten there about twice a week since, very highly recommend!

This will not be a one time stop. It is the best place to bring a friend or stop by on your way out of town or on your way to work. Grab a homemade bakery item, the bagles and homemade flavored cream cheeses are the best! A variety of sandwich to please any appetite! Always a unique flavored coffee. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.

My wife and I met a friend here for "coffee." We aren't really coffee drinkers, so we both ordered hot cocoa. I also selected a pastry. I have no idea what it was. I looked at it and said, "I want to try whatever that is." The pastry was amazing. The hot cocoa was nothing special, though.

Really good everything. Especially the cheddar & herb bagel that's my favorite. Love the vegetable cream cheese. The veggie sandwich is awesome! The reason why it's missing a star is because coffee refills are $.55 and I don't think that should be like that anywhere you stay and have coffee to drink. Also the coffee is a little bit weak and they run out a lot it's hard to keep up with things like that at such a busy place. They should seriously think about getting larger coffee urns and more of them. Overall one of my favorite places to go.
