We like this hotel as an inexpensive "no frills" option. Rooms are clean with everything we need. Adequate but not fancy. The pool looks clean and nice, but we usually don't have time to try it. Breakfast was also "adequate but not fancy." Continental plus microwavable sausage-egg-and-cheese croissant sandwiches (perhaps the vary the kinds).

Overall is was a good experience until check out… Went to check our room as we were checking out and tired to charge us the $150.00 deposit because they accused us of “smoking” in the room. The front desk lady went to our room right away and said we smoked. I informed her we checked in at 11:23 PM and went to bed as we had to be up earlier for our planned activities. She then started arguing with me about it. So i told her to walk down to our room with us and show me where the damages from “us smoking” were and if it smelled like smoke. She wouldn’t show us the room with her. Very rude. After being told the money would be back to my card they still charged me. No manager was available and still have no received a call back either.

The hotel was priced just right, hotel was clean, staff was friendly, pool was heated. . overall it was a pleasant stay. My one compliant which not everyone will have is, is that the breakfast didn't really have a meatless option (unless you like oatmeal) so I had to go to McDonald's next door. My husband on the other hand, enjoyed the breakfast since he does eat me. I would definitely stay here again.

Very pleased with our stay here. It was very clean, beds were super comfortable, breakfast was wonderful, staff very courteous. All you could ever expect from a 2star hotel! Basic but very sufficient. We didn’t come there to stay at a luxury hotel, but to hike nearby. Did not use the pool - which is small and indoor, but looked clean! Will definitely stay again when in the area!

This is a 1 star hotel. The staff is friendly and DID let me check in early (about an hour) We came down to spend the day at starved rock but it rained the whole day and my room was already booked. I was very grateful for that. I have a days inn closer to home that is so nice so that’s why I chose this place.. ok so upon check in we realized the back door is broken. There is tape keeping the lock in so the door actually doesn’t even lock.. next we went into the pool. Unfortunately no hot tub, that’s usually one of the amenities i look for so I was disappointed in that in itself but the pool is pretty gross. You can feel lots of dirt and rocks on the pool floor. Lots of hair and was SO overly CHLORINATED. My husband never opened his eyes and complained of the burn the whole day. After 10-15 minutes we got out. On the plus there was life vests for kids. My son who usually loves pools would not get in because it’s 3 ft all across. Too scary and another disappointment in this hotel. Now for the room. I booked 2 double beds. Silly of me to assume that meant twins. I’ve never been to a hotel that had twin beds instead of queens. We pulled them together to accommodate our needs. The A/c only worked on high. That means I woke up 4 separate times to turn on/off due to being freezing or sweating. The carpet had sticky matted spots from previous guests. I was disgusted and kept shoes on my entire stay. The SMELL was horrible. Like straight socks. I sprayed perfume about 8 times and left the window open to air it out. It seems to come from the AC. And finally the bathroom. Black mold across the upper walls.. it made it harsh to breathe. I waited until seeing breakfast before leaving a review. Super disappointing there also. I was hoping for a waffle maker which seems standard at most hotels even cheap ones. Unfortunately the only thing offered was cereal, mini muffins, and jimmy deans frozen breakfast sandwiches and yogurts. SO disappointing. Let’s not forget that the fan stood on in a room either next to mine or above which was so loud in our room ALL NIGHT. Overall for the price (about 140$) I wished I had just stayed home.. I will not be back again. I recommend spending a little more for the Holliday inn or grizzly jacks or maybe try the motel 8 but skip this place.Rooms: Not good read reviewNoteworthy details: Lots of places nearby (the rootbeer stand is great)

Our bathroom reeked of pet urine. The hotel charges an extra $20 ( we did not bring a pet) for pets. Evidently, this extra fee is not used for enhanced cleaning.Edit: Wyndham Ogelsby, thank you for replying to my review. We did in fact stay at your hotel. The reservation was in my wife's name. That is why my name is not in your system.Your hotel is at 120 N Lewis Ave, Oglesby, IL 61348.Please do a deep cleaning of room 115 to remove the pet urine smell.Noteworthy details: Staff is not very friendly. As we left, we notified the front desk of the pet urine smell. She did say she was sorry but made no attempt to compensate us with a partial refund.

Just what you would expect for the price, but the staff is what got my biggest vote. They were super friendly. Played with my kids a bit. But to top it off, when we left and stopped at a next door gas station, we didn't know we had forgotten some things in our rooms. One of the housekeeping staff had tracked us down to bring the items to us. Wow! That is above and beyond! Yes, she was well tipped!

Booked 3 rooms. Bed has bedbugs and rooms smell like mildew and cigarette smoke. Told front desk. No apology or accommodation for this. Called to share this with manager. Manager calls me and is defensive. I tell him about the bedbugs. He didn't know about it. Didn't even know what room. Gave him my information. Now he claims he already followed up on that concern and there were no bedbugs. He told me theres a women who has been cleaning there for 27 years and they are kept very clean. He gaslighted me by saying I was mistaken that there was no bedbug. He then said that it was likely another bug. He then claimed orkin confirmed no bedbugs but he didn't even know about it until I called to tell him that day. He then told me he was nice and cared because he called me back. I corrected him and said he didn't call me because he was nice and cared. He called me because I called to speak to him that morning but he wasn't in until noon. So I asked the front desk staff to have him call me. He tried to make it sound like he was wonderful guy doing me a favor by calling me back to talk abot my concern. Like it was an act of kindness to me rather than his responsibility to address customer complaints. When he accused me of not seeing a bedbug I told him I have a picture confirming the markings. I also know what bedbugs look like and do not appreciate being gaslit. I sent him the photo of the bedbug immediately because he kept tellling me it wasn't a bedbug so there isn't a problem to address. Then he saw the picture and said he would call his superiors and call me back. He didn't. So here's an honest review of this hotel and its management.

Pretty decent room for the price. I did not like the pillows just because I have neck issues so I had a hard time sleeping with the pillows that were provided. I suggest bringing a pillow from home. The room did have a distinguished smell but it didn't bother me. Besides that this place is awesome! There is a pet fee, which was alright, I had a great time since I was able to bring my pup! There is a pool and breakfast. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Recommend to anyone who is visiting starve rock.

Pretty decent hotel. Staff was very nice. Rooms were decent if not a bit outdated. Large gap between the door and the floor so you can hear people in the hallway all the time. Breakfast was alright but is free so I can't complain. Location is great! Right next to a gas station and a few restaurants/fast food. Only 15 minutes away from Starved Rock.Rooms: Rooms were standard, if not a bit outdated.Food & drinks: Able to get delivery to the room. A few places to eat within walking distance.

I just wanted a relaxing moment on the pool after visit the state park this weekend, they closed the pool all the time I was there. CLEANING they say... It was my only weekend off in months and I didn't enjoy staying here. I bring my kid with the promise of swimming all afternoon after walk that much... he is disappointed. Room was ok, water dripping on the bathroom and breakfast area. "Breakfast" 6 am to 8 am only... no hot breakfast, just do it your self. Microwave egg cheese sausage sandwich, tinny cup for O.J.

The owners were extremely polite and went out of their way to give us a different more preferred room. The room was extremely clean and the staff was very gracious and polite. We will definitely stay here for our future Starved Rock visits!

This hotel is older but relatively well maintained. The rooms are clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. This is a great place to stay for visitors to Starved Rock who do not want to pay Lodge prices. The staff were all so nice and helpful! It is right across the street from a McDonald's, less than a block from Cindy's on 39, and across another street is a Taco Bell, and next door is a gas station so if you need anything, you've got options. The hotel is pet friendly so you get to see some doggos, which always adds to a place in my opinion. The only less than ideal things about it are: A) if you're on the first floor, you can hear just about every footfall from the second floor. But if you stay on the second floor that doesn't seem to be a problem. B) the rooms that used to be smoking rooms have been very well cleaned and restored but if you're very sensitive to the smell of cigarettes you may still be able to detect it. We didn't find that it was bothersome but I know there are folks out there that might not be as comfortable with it and should probably request a room that was non smoking.

Perfect A++ Hotel. Dogs of any size and breed can stay for an acceptable fee. Breakfast was outstanding, the service was outstanding, the room was outstanding and clean. The price was outstanding. The location was outstanding if going to Starved Rock or anywhere near. There is simply nothing bad to say here. Stay at this Days Inn, yes! !

Very clean for a Pet Friendly room. The pool looked clean as well but we didn’t get a chance to swim. Friendly staff at check-in and good rates over all!

A/C worked great. Front desk staff seemed nice. No elevator and we had 4 suitcases. But that is not the worst by far! Trashes were left on each floor by housekeeping ? ALL afternoon and night. Just trashy. Literally. Some doors were missing the classic door markers so staff must have written on paper with pencil the room numbers 😂 The whole hotel smelled like cheese dip and tortillas. The town is a ghost town. Will never be coming back.

Clean, well maintained hotel. Good value, nothing fancy, but everything worked well. Staff was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was limited but had a few choices to fill up on, better than what is found at a good budget hotel.

Rooms were clean but very dingy. The textured ceiling was falling apart in places, especially in the bathroom. When we went to check out the breakfast options, the orange juice in the dispenser came out brown. Staff was courteous and friendly.
