My mom loves this store! They helped her learn how to have a beautiful and healthy tank. She’s there almost every week and they so patiently answer every question and help her get the best fish, water, equipment for her tank. Great customer service!

Just discovered this gem. Drove all the way down 40 mins to check them out and they did not disappoint. Very kind and knowledgeable staff. Their inventory of tropical plants is amazing enough to visit the store. Great selection of tropical fish, shrimp, plants and aquascaping supplies. Definitely check them out.

Disliked it I've visited this business twice now. Both times I didn't hear a welcome or greeting upon entering the store even though I saw two employees present both timesI called in advance to see if they had red root floaters for sale. They did and told me they are $6.99 "for some" when I asked how many are included in a purchase. I drove 20 minutes to go buy "some" and when I got there the woman working offered me "one" red root floater the size of the tip of my little finger fingernail. *One* for $6.99 LOL.Every other business that I've ever dealt with would provide anywhere from 30-50 red root floaters for a similar price- not one little floater. So that's what I did. I walked out and gave someone else my money for a 4 oz cup full of floaters.I also saw Betta fish at $50 no more impressive than the Bettas I see at Petco less than half that price.All-in-all I don't understand the rave reviews about this store. The prices are unbelievable and I didn't see much of a selection of aquarium substrate for purchase or any hard scape at all. I'll probably go elsewhere in the future for aquatic fish and supplies.

I appreciate the friendly nature of the employees. I was able to attain a free 75 gallon tank from this store that was being disposed of for minor plastic deformities which immediately made this my favorite go-to fish shop.

This is my main livestock stock store when it comes to fish and shrimp. Most big box stores with aquatics sections have poor stock and poor staff. If you like freshwater and saltwater aquariums this is where you want to spend your money. They also have a small collection of freshwater plants and corals for sale. But livestock is where they shine.

The staff there is very friendly and very knowledgeable and helped me pick the best fish to add to my aquarium. They also warned me about potential hazards of adding certain breeds of fish to my tank because water conditions weren't suitable or conducive for the survival of the fish.

Just found this place today, they have an amazing selection of healthy, disease-free fish (you won't' find those at petco/petsmart). Almost any fish you could want to put in your aquarium and they will have it.Will be coming here for all my fish-keeping needs from now on : )

look, I like the place the people seem really nice but as somebody who runs their own business myself, you really don't want to have your own pet in this case being a dog sniffing you all the time when you're trying to shop.. what if somebody is really adverse to dogs and their not comfortable mentioning it to you...I love my own dog, but this guy is just sniffing you and going in between your legs all the time serious turn off

Always friendly and helpful with a nice selection of freshwater and saltwater fish. They have fish you won't find at your other big box store and tanks are very clean. We are return customers and have gotten an assortment of freshwater fish and snails from this shop and have not had any problems with sick fish. Also, super friendly pup that's good with children!

Great selection for freshwater shrimp! Saw colors and strains I haven't seen at any other stores. Had a hard time choosing which bundle deal to go with. Will definitely be back, wasn't terribly hard to get to from Rogers Park with the combo of my e scooter and the yellow line.. Very friendly nice staff.

The store is filthy and any fish they sell you will die within days of purchase. They will not refund your money. They are swindlers.

The store is immaculate and the livestock are all healthy.My reef tank has had a ton of success and continuing beauty. All because of this wonderful business. What a great fish store! I needed to add a couple fish to my freshwater planted tank and checked this place out after a quick online search. I didn't linger too long but what I saw was really solid. Great variety of freshwater and marine fish, dwarf shrimp, saltwater inverts, coral, and freshwater plants. There was also an inspiring setup for high humidity orchids, etc in the front. The highlight for me were the furry ambassadors, an adorable pibble and hairless cat. Finding out later that this is being run by Old Orchard Aquarium folks clinches it for me that this will be my new, go-to local fish store.
