Since 1967! I have worked with Cathy in rescue and have admired the love and care she has given to the dogs/breeds she has. Megan is just as wonderful. These are dogs to be enjoyed by your family. To be loved and cherished. No hoity-toity atmosphere here, just years of family love and dedication of dogs.

If you are looking for a particular breed, do not go to these people. We went there looking for a particular breed. She sold us a mixed breed-a “designer breed”. His papers even state that he is a purebred. When we told her of the DNA results, the first thing she said was, “I hope you don’t expect a refund, I am not giving you a refund”. She also said that Embark DNA testing cannot be trusted-another lie. We love our little dog very much, he is family. We just wanted her to know that we know, she lied to us about the puppy she sold us. If you are looking for a particular breed, do not go to Merry Dawn Kennels.I gave my review one star because it would not allow me to give zero.

Picked up our new forever friend. Westie pup. She was ready and waiting. Cathy (owner) had an info pack and food as well as a lovey that had been with litter mates and mom. We brought our current pup to meet and greet on neutral ground. Play area was neat and clean and plenty of time spent together to prepare for safe peaceful ride home. Thanks Cathy for another little charmer.! Highly recommend!

We have had Chloe a beautiful Bichon puppy for 3 1\2 years. Wonderful Kennel not blacklisted by ANY of my local vets I've used. Chloe has been the best dog a family could ask for. Truly a people puppy that loves to cuddle. Worth every dime to our family. Our family eventually purchased her Mother Sissy Jo who is also great addition to the family. Visiting my mom's the two dogs play lil Mom and Daughter.

Bought our West highland white terrier from merry dawn in Dec of '12. What i liked about the kennel is the amount of questions that was asked of the BUYER. Basically tried to match up a puppy temperament (plus what is known about mom and dad) to suite your needs. Gave a good amount of instructions along with websites to help you and your puppy get along in the smoothest way possible. My westie is 8 months to the day and i couldn't be happier. she is intelligent, friendly, fun and a excellent model in my neighborhood on how a dog is supposed to be.

I have had a maltese from Merry Dawn kennel for almost 4 years now (he was born in March '09). He was the runt of the litter and very tiny. Despite the kennels reluctancy to sell him, I fell in love and after a vet's okay they let me buy and keep the puppy. My puppy has been absolute perfect ever since. He has the best personality and even my vet has said how my dog's disposition is absolutely perfect. He hasn't had any health issues and was easy to potty train due to the breeder allowing the dogs to go outside (most dogs bought from a breeder have never even been outside). I would recommend Merry Dawn to anyone!

We have adopted two puppies from this kennel. They are now almost 3 yrs. old and such happy dogs! We could not be happier! Cathy Weese is a wonderful caring breeder!

Merry Dawn Kennel is truly the most wonderful breeder in the world. We have gotten both loves of our lives, Muffin, Bichon Frise and Nuni, Maltichon from Cathy Weese. They are absolutely perfect. Healthy and happy. Muffin is almost 10 now and Nuni nearly 5 and we are so happy they got their start in life at this wonderful place. What I love about Merry Dawn is that we got to meet both the mother and the father on premise. That was so important to us. Merry dawn is in the quaint small town of Minonk Illinois, where love just permeates the air. I love going out to Merry Dawn just to visit. Cathy Weese and her mother are two of the sweetest people who really love their dogs and puppies. We will only go to Merry Dawn for our next puppy, which will be very soon

We purchased two Bischon Frisee puppies from this Kennel. When we took them to get neutered it was found that they have a liver condition and had to spend several hundred dollars. I would not recommend this kennel to anyone.

We are in love with our wonderful fur baby Zorro. Zorro will be 7 this year and has been a wonderful joy. We got him at 8 weeks old. We have referred numerous fur parents to merry dawn kennels and recommend them all the time.

My Bichon Frise I aquired from here started having regular seizures after he turned 5 years of age. It seems to be hereditary epilepsy. Good breeders avoid breeding bichons with this condition. Shame on you for breaking people's hearts.
