I started out liking this place because of the convenience it's across the street from my house! But most of there staff are very rude to me. I use to purchase something from this Whitmore location. But after all the troubles they've given me. I won't bring much business to them anymore unless it's something very cheap. Which not many things are cheap at Ace hardware. I would rather wait to go to Lows or Harbor freight for my tools now!!!

Lived many places and been to several aces but there is no place as friendly and helpful as the Manteno location. Every time I come here you've got the staff going the extra mile to make sure I get exactly what I need. Whatever is going on with the hiring and training, they're doing awesome. Great place.

Friendly helpful staff. Clean and orderly stock. Sometimes a little bit higher price than the big box stores but you save time but get the Ace rewards and save that way. Plus they give back to the community.

It's a typical hardware store. But unlike those other big name stores, you can still buy just a few nuts and matching bolts without having to buy 50 or a box of 100. I'd go here all day long just for that.

I have visited Whitmore Ace Hardware many times and always found the service to be exceptional. While most Ace Hardware's are friendly, this one tops the charts. Prices are going up everywhere, but it's so nice to deal with an organization that actually conveys that they are happy you are doing your shopping with them. Personally, I'll pay more for such a service level- which is one of the reasons I'd much rather go here than make the drive to another lousy Walmart. Very friendly staff, excellent attention to detail, actually walking you to the product instead of pointing, and friendly faces. My recommendation? Always go here first. Then, and only then, go elsewhere- if you can't find what you're looking for. I'm confident you'll find both what you want and the excellent customer service I've described. Well done, Whitmore Ace Hardware- and especially Paulette!!

Excellent paint department. I was in need of a specialty primer for fiberglass & the lady ( I believe paint department manager ) went out of her way and made phone calls to make sure the correct product was recommended to me. Seemed knowledgeable and answered questions. Prices might be a tad more than the big box stores but the service is worth the little bit of extra cost.

I will no longer be shopping at this Ace location, I went up there today and due to the fact that there is limited parking and the store was busy the only spots available were for disabled or pickup parking. Considering I needed to go in and out and would have been done in under 5 mins I didn't think this would be a big deal, how ever when as soon as I stepped in the store Kim McCormick began questioning me about if I had a pick up, when I informed her that all I needed was to grab one item she told me I couldn't park there, with no where else to park I was forced to leave and go to Walmart. I am incredibly disappointed with how UNFRIENDLY my neighborhood Ace with the "helpful hardware folks" was so unhelpful on this afternoon. After more than 15 years patronizing this location I am now decided I WILL NOT be returning.

As I entered the store, I heard a happy voice say, "Good evening ma'am! My name is Jacob. Can I help you look for anything?". He help me find the items I was looking for and explained how to sign up for the rewards card, as well as business account if needed. He was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and a pleasure. Jacob even helped me to my car. Whitmore Ace Hardware is blessed to have such a dedicated employee. Thanks again Jacob 😊

This store is adorable. I went in for the first time yesterday with two kids with me and one of the employees went right over to me to make the shopping trip easier for me. He found exactly what I needed fast, offered the kids a sucker, and even some free popcorn. Employees here are very kind. Thank you for your help cuz you know shopping with kids can be difficult! 😊

Spoke with Paulette, the store manager, about two issues neither of which were the fault of the store. Both were taken care of immediately to my satisfaction without hesitation. Unlike one of the local big box stores who recently took four months to complete a simple warranty replacement for me. Support local business.

I had bought several bags of patio sand, needed 2 more to finish the job,but they were closed. I took 2 bags and went back and paid the next morning. They were fine with that. Small town stores,ya gotta love that.

This is an excellent Ace Hardware to do business with. I purchased a Traeger grill from them. Upon setup, I experienced difficulties with the WiFire system. After calling Traeger, with no clear resolution, they recommended I call the Ace to see if they could exchange the unit.The manager, Paulette, personally reached out and told me she would rectify the problem. Adam, the warehouse manager, arrived at my home the next day at my convenience and personally helped me troubleshoot the grill. After all of that, the system update was installed and I was grilling that day! No need to replace anything!They worked tirelessly to make sure all issues were corrected and really demonstrated what customer service is all about. Thank you, Paulette and Adam for all of your help!! I look forward to giving them more of my business in the future. You should too!

Pretty basic local hardware store, super reliable, has the usual products you need so that you don't have to drive super far from home if you are a local. Same as Berkots having the right essentials for locals.
