Terrible customer service. The worst actually. I tried to find a corporate number to complain because the rudeness is coming from the lady manager. Impossible to find a customer service number. Avoid this place at all costs.

I attempted to sell a brand new oculus and a gold necklace here. The lady who helped us, who didn’t wear a name tag, had reddish brown hair, glasses, tattoo on the back of her neck. While the other lady, Tiffany, was very kind and tried to help us and figure out how it works, the lady who was originally helping us was very rude, unprofessional, and straight up mean. Not only did she try to tell us there was no way of telling if it worked (when it was lighting up as we were speaking and I attempted to explain how it works) but also said they wouldn’t know how to use it and wouldn’t give us much for it. After this, the lady was talking about how she didn’t understand the brand or manufacturer of the necklace we brought in, and continued to act like it was a problem, saying “I guess…”, “I don’t know…” instead of trying to figure it out. While we did end up selling the necklace to the shop, our experience was unpleasant and I do not think we will be coming back.

Unfortunately, this shop has went down hill with the new employees. This was much better when Joshua was manager. Employees there have been incredibly rude, and callous. Will be letting people know to try the new place in town and to avoid here.

I give Pawn King a 10 Star Review. It was my first visit. The staff was pleasant, knowledgeable, and made me feel Welcomed!!! Reasonable prices and inventory. Thank you Joshua for going the Extra mile! They were Right on time and Fair for what I needed. I recommend Pawn King in Jacksonville, Il to everyone!

I used to have a 5 star review on here for how great this place used to be! Especially when Joshua was the manager.The new employees are unprofessional with protocol and handling their merchandise.They give you a petty little warranty on your merchandise you buy from them, but sell junk! (I had to assume the speakers I bought were as is since there was no sign indicating that) I was also given no indicator I could test the speakers myself before hand. If I buy something off their shelves, I expect it to work from them testing it.I called with frustration about my purchase not working but remained as calm as could be, yet I was being hostile towards her? This place is garbage! They sell literal junk people probably find on the streets for free. TEST YOUR STUFF BEFORE YOU BUY!! OR GET THEIR PETTY WARRANTY!

Drove an hour cause they wouldnt give me a offer on my 1/2 snap on air gun 4 months old barley used had papers and box. Took them 30 minutes to give me and offer. While waiting i walked around and seen some things selling for list price or high for junk. They finally came back and offered me $125 for a $725 tool. After hearing there offer and seeing there prices i wouldnt sell them nothing and shure wouldnt buy anythig from them knowing they payed next to nothing for everything there selling. Id literally recommend any pawn shop but pawn king. Ill never step foot in any of there locations. King rip off

They are friendly and nice but it would be better if they loan anything you bring in and they do not always take Silver cause I brought a Silver Necklace in and he would not take it so don't be fooled they do not buy everything including Silver you. You should be able to get a loan on what you bring in. Now if your selling it that's different if they don't want it but I needed money so I just wanted a loan that is all. Thank you Sherry

Well first off I went into the pawn shop which I frequent all the time. I buy things on layaway all the time. Usually bigger items that are around $250. I go into the pawn shop to pawn and sell some items. I had a Ryobi 1/4 drive impact and a circular saw matching and a chroded Ryobi saw that was like new along with 3 batteries and a charger for the Ryobi stuff. This guy insults me by offering me $25 for the whole bag of tools. I laughed at him and asked for Josh because usually he treats me right. He wasn't there. So I also brought in a Strother compound bow...(which they don't make anymore) with a brand new string on it new kisser button and fully dressed bow with sight and arrow rest.... everything. Even had a soft case with it and 4 blood Hunter arrows. This Shylock offered me $50 for my bow. I laughed at him and I noticed some gentleman looking at Ryobi tools. So I sold them my tools for what I was asking....$60. which was fair. Needless to say I doubt I will be doing anymore business with them in the future. Oh yeah! They forgot to give me back my ID so I'll have to go back for that because the guy who helped me was so unprofessional he didn't even give me my ID card back. PS.....he said he wasn't buying tools so that was the pawn price. What kind of pawn shop isn't buying tools when there are people looking at tools? Makes no sense. $50 for a $450 bow. Yeah....they got the Jew Shylock racket down at this pawn shop.

Staff is professional but policies are bogus. We purchased a chain saw back in April, went home and couldn't get it to work and returned it the next day. Was told that it was policy that they don't give cash back; we had to get a gift card. Came in today to check out things and verify the balance. Was told that the gift card was valid for only 8 months. So you take my cash for a defective product, and won't give me money back, and give me 8 months to buy something else that may not work before you keep my money forever. Pretty great business model to make easy money, bad customer service.Update: they did give me a refund a few days later but I had to call the corporate office (which was an umbrella company/lawyer's office under a different name per the voice mail message) and leave a message, and the store manager had difficulty applying the refund in their system due to the way the gift card was originally processed. I'm definitely "once bitten, twice shy" over the whole situation.

This is where to go to get quality stolen products, and if u take stuff for a loan they will use every excuse in the book for you to not be able to get your own stuff back, guessing they are used to dealing with thieves who won't call the police.

I have been going to Jacksonville pawn King for many years. For starters Joshua is amazing and he wouldn’t ever sell me anything that wasn’t worth it. Nor would they ever buy anything that wasn’t really worth selling. I have Purchased so much from them MacBook TVs a Dyson vacuum IRumba Lawnmower weedeater the list could go on. If I ever had any problems they make it right. PS I wasn’t paid to say this LOL.

I live 45 minutes away I called in looking for some subs they told me they were very busy and asked if I would call back I said yes. I called back got a different worker asked him if he could tell me what subs they had and he told me "I'm not going to help you shop over the phone if you want to know come in and see for yourself". From my experience they aren't very professional.
