It’s a nice place. You can find mostly anything you might be missing if you run out. But the old lady has attitude problems. She dumped my stuff from the basket. My son who is a teenager and loves going to blocks for snacks also mentioned she has bad attitude and denied a bag for the things that he purchased. And this is every time he goes. Next time if that happens I will have to honor my name and not be nice 🤣.

Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the produce section.I love supporting local small businesses; and I think Jay has done a great job revamping a Hampshire staple.The new coolers and freezers were an investment that really helped out the business. The addition of a great liquor section was also a nice addition. Fresh flowers too!Make sure you check out the butcher’s when you’re there! Hand cut steaks available, as well as in-house made sausage.

I live just outside of downtown Hampshire and I have gone into Block's a few times and with the remodel everything looks really nice. The prices are what you would expect from a in town store little on the expensive side but worth it for the convenience and supporting a local business is always a plus. The meats are very fresh and cook well on the grill or stove top. I will use Block's in the further and hope others will too.

Bought a $40 bottle of alcohol.....I live within 5 minutes. When I went to bring the bag in the bag ripped. My bottle dropped and was broken. Went in literally within 5 minutes of purchase and the owner claimed I dropped it. Well I brought the bag that it was placed in and showed multiple tear's and he claims I dropped it. No dirt or anything on the bag and the owner refused to help me out. I do not recommend going to this little " butcher shop".......terrible service and terrible ownership. I was a customer every other day and spent hundreds there month. I will never give them a penny again. So much for small business.

Store has made great changes since new owner took over. Grocery selection is great, allot of name brand products. Beer selection is great, nice variety including micro brews. Still has a real butcher shop in the back. Well kept neighborhood store! Makes you want to do as much of your shopping local as possible.

Highly disappointed. Just moved into the community. I am a Black male who walked into this store with my Black wife, followed by a White male (with whom I shared a pleasant exchange). I said "hello" to the Indian-looking store rep near the entrance before he awkwardly looked past me to exclusively greet the White male by name. My wife and I proceeded to the back near the freezers to look for a vegan pizza. The store rep immediately appeared in the back of the store, keeping us within eye sight, pretending like he was looking for something. The prices were outrageously high and we left without purchasing anything. I felt a weird vibe but never spoke on it. As soon as we walked outside, my wife told me she felt uncomfortable, and I knew exactly what she meant. It's 2022, folks. Take this as you will.

Blocks has been around for as long as I remember(38 years!). It was never a place I shopped unless I had to!When I heard there was a new owner, my husband and I had to check it out! It was already so much nicer! The produce was fresh, all the shelves were stocked and faced, it was clean! But now...it's a whole new store! The owner is super nice! He's even given me items from the meat department after it was closed for the day! It's clean and bright! Has a nice selection of products.DEFINITELY check it out!

I’m straight up amazed at the quality of the products AND staff. I know Jewel/Walmart/ALDI etc are in the area, but I’ve been doing 90% of my shopping at blocks. (The produce section is good, but could be better).Butcher is superb. Quality and price are both amazing. The cuts are exactly what you are ordering, and precisely cut.Liquor is fantastic. Their selection has some hard to find whiskey and bourbon. Wine/Beer is plentiful.Snacks/frozen foods/daily cooking ingredients have a great amount of options.Edit: I would like to make it known that the Owners have been doing an EXCELLENT job getting the produce section up to quality. Such a great market.

Nice little store. Prices are a bit higher than chain grocery stores, but I guess that is typical.Friendly staff.Although the liquor is the center point of the store. It would be nice to not have it in your face when you walk in with your kids.

This is a great community grocery store for last minute cooking needs or great butchered meats (custom-orders accepted). Recently under new management and remodeled. The new owners are very friendly and are trying hard to get to know the people in the community.

Great little neighborhood market - plenty of liquor, wide variety food selection and everything is decently priced. Needed something while cooking at my daughters on 🦃 and 🌲, Block’s was open regular hours! Being my daughter just bought a house in Hampshire she didn’t even know it existed. She does now and frequents!

I moved to Hampshire a year ago and I LOVE Blocks. They have a fantastic meat department and my family enjoys their steaks, Italian Sausage, Brats and more. They have a butcher on site who takes care of you and we love the meat quality and fresh offerings. It is wonderful to have a local, family owned store, with affordable prices and good service.

Great place, affordable, owner is always there. If you need something they don't have, they'll order it for you. Don't understand these people complaining about wearing a face covering, my pops is 87 years old, you can't cover your face for a short period of time, shows the content of your character. Me, me, me! Did notice the workers wear a face covering, but the owners don't.

it is so much better under this new ownership . its organized better and has new products. the only thing i dislike is the fact that the guys in the deli are no longer there from before the new management. i dont know if they fired them or if they left, but they were super friendly and the best ones to have.

Store is typically not the cleanest place in appearance. But it is an aged grocery store so that might be why. I've had expired items quite a few times. The meat department does have great meat. Produce is typically not

The meat is excellent. It is very rare these days to see a butcher shop meat section in a grocery store, with the meat displayed behind glass cases for you to choose from. The butchers weigh and wrap the meat for you. The baby back ribs are the best. Shopping here is a great small town experience.

I felt very welcomed to the "new" Block's. New ownership and totally remodeled floor to ceiling, front to back with modern coolers, shelving, fresh meat department and checkout. Wider range and variety of foods and newly added alchohol products. Some of the old faces are still there assisting customers. So I encourage Hampshire and area folks to come in and see the new grocery. Buy localn support local businesses.

Raised prices are to be expected in a small town convenience store but that's not what my issue is. I've lived in Hampshire for 20 years and Block's has always had THE rudest staff you could ever imagine. From the older butcher to the cashiers who make you feel like you should be ashamed of disrupting their day - this store is not a very 'homey' one.

Drove 90 min to go here for a good brisket based on past experience. Bought a $50 brisket Sat afternoon. Went to smoke it Monday morning and the entire thing is rancid. I thought the color looked questionable at the outset but again based on past figured it was ok. Things have sure changed under the new management. Never. Again.

I've lived in Hampshire for 5 years and I absolutely hate going to Block's. Every time I go into the store the employees are rude and make me feel like I am interrupting them. I have seen the butchers grab meet with no gloves on, then move on to the next customer and grab a different meat without washing their hands. That is very unsanitary and gross! I manage a department in a grocery store and I would be fired if I treated my customers the way I get treated here.

I love this place. Always clean and most of the workers are so nice and fun to talk to. Just wish the prices were not quite so high, I'd do all my grocery shopping here
