We officially made it into Common Grounds in Gridley today for lunch. I should have taken a picture of all of our food! We have had some of their baked goods at Crafted before and a couple other events but this was our first time at this lovely little coffee/ lunch shop! Everything we had was SOOO good. I am thankful we don't live closer as this would be a problem! Highly recommend making the 25 minute drive. It is worth every penny and it was a beautiful day for a drive in the country!We all sampled each other's food but all were excellent! We had:-Chili and the fluffiest cornbread with honey butter.-Pulled pork with homemade Mac and cheese-bisquits and gravy-BBQ chicken /ranch pizza on super thin crust-white choc mocha-peach tea-mango smoothiePlus toll house pie and blackberry lemonade pie! The lemon was perky just how my husband loves it!The owner Katrina is so sweet and we told her over and over again how amazing everything was! We wish we had something this amazing in Bloomington but the drive out to Gridley is totally worth it!Damon kept saying over and over how impressed he was with common ground, he wants to go weekly!

We heard from a friend that this is THE spot to get quiche. We took a Saturday stroll in from Boomington/Normal via old route 66. We brought the dogs with us and were extremely happy that we did! The workers were all very friendly, the iced coffees were refreshing, and the quiche lived up to it's name. I had their Cowboy Quiche and it's one of my favorites. We also tried the breakfast casserole and it was phenomenal! We shared some of it with the hounds as we sat on the front patio and took in the fantastic September weather. Highly recommend this, whether you're passing through and making a trip!On the way out we grabbed some coffee beans that have a great local story and go to a great cause.

After seeing the rave reviews, we were looking forward to having lunch at this place. We were disappointed. It has a nice atmosphere, but the food and service need improvement. They have only one order-taking line, which results in long waits. Our "strawberry" salad had no (as in zero) strawberries; in addition the nuts in the salad were small chopped pieces, which all fall to the bottom of the salad and thus are not eaten. The quiche was tasty, but the slice was small and left us unfilled. The biscuit was heavy and doughy and served cold with no butter. We took two pie slices home, and they were good. All in all, some good points to this place, but too many deficiencies.

Went here for lunch today and it was fantastic! Customer service makes you feel like you're right at home, very cozy, and the food was amazing! Will absolutely be visiting again! (Couldn't help but eat part of the sandwich before taking a pic)

1st visit, 5 stars all the way! I had the privilege of meeting the owner, Katrina. She was a true delight! Great food, coffee & amazing homemade goodies! I can't wait to visit again. Went in the first time to check things out because I like to buy local not really expecting much and had one of the best pieces of peach pie ever, and by far the best cafe mocha I've ever had. I drive over 300 miles daily for work and this has quickly become my favorite stop staff is always polite and friendly, even refunded me for today's coffee when they didn't have enough ready to fill my order.

There was a line when we got there at lunch time, it moved very quickly though and after ordering the wait for our food was short. The Power bowl I got was really good, a bit more than how much I would like to pay for it though. With the limited access to good quality food away from Bloomington that is understandable. I also got a frappe that was good. The seating can be limited if it is a busy day, the outdoor seating was lovely though. Good pick for food in the Gridley or El Paso area, one of my only preferred places around so far.Edit- went again today and had a similar experience, food was good and came out fairly quick. We sat inside this time and they had decorations for the season out. We had a group of 6 and we sat around the large center table. My experience here has been consistently positive!Edit 2- Consistency is a strength here from my visits. They have good food, shortish wait times, and a lovely atmosphere. Still a solid recommendation.Vegetarian options: Salad or power bowl with no meat.

Three of us came in for lunch. I had the chicken pesto flatbread. It was very tasty a nice blend of flavors!Everyone enjoyed their food. We had pie for dessert, rhubarb and coconut cream. It was delightful, but a tad too sweet!The staff was very helpful and service was outstanding!I will be back for sure!

Great spot! Our first experience was fantastic; if we lived closer we would definitely be regulars! From the tasteful décor and cozy, inviting atmosphere to the delicious food and drink and friendly service, Common Grounds is excellent in all aspects. We enjoyed quiche, breakfast casserole, pastries, and some amazing coffee. The owners are warm and welcoming, and it's obvious that they genuinely care about each customer and their individual experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes top quality food and beverages, community fellowship, and supporting local enterprise.

I try to make it in once a week. Love the variety of the weekly lunch specials and soups! This morning I ordered quiche and a cinnamon roll. The quiche: delectable. The roll: sow belly heavenly. The employees: friendly and efficient. The owners: the most joyful, genuine, loving couple!

Great find! It was randomly located on our way to buy a used car :)Their coconut pie was fantastic! Good environment, friendly service!We will be bringing a pie slice to our car salesman (he is a pie fan) and he was super nice. He deserves a good pie slice!

This little gem is located in an area off the beaten path. It was amazing!!!! The food is mouth watering and the drinks were so fresh and yummy. Had to go back around the drive thru for a coffee to drink with the excellent scrumptious pies we bought too. Well worth the trip there. We will definitely be back!

Great food - just be sure to get there early before they run out! First visit we came on a Saturday around 11:30 for brunch. They were out of quiche. So I ordered a Cuban. It was amazing! Came back another Saturday around noon. Brought my dad. Told him told him he had to try the Cuban. They only had enough for one sandwich. When the sandwich was delivered there was about 2 tablespoons of pulled pork on the sandwich. Returned the sandwich and ordered hot ham and cheese, which was delicious. An employee came out and apologized for the problem, which I appreciated. But I doubt we'll be making any special trips back to Gridley just to visit.

Hands down the best experience I have ever had at a coffee shop! I travel the Midwest extensively for work and they hit it out of the park! Every detail down to the style and decor is on point! My coffee was delicious, I stayed for lunch... roast beef sandwich was fantastic, and Peg at the counter was so kind in recommending it all, including coconut cream pie! I live 3 hours away and was here on business, but I will be back... Thank you all!

I love this place. You know the kind of care and compassion that you hope people put into their wedding reception? That's how well done the interior and exterior of this building is! From the Edison lights, the support your local authors/artist, the eclectic group of games, the well placed power outlets, including the new ones with usb ports directly into the outlet and the awesome lawn care outside... 5 stars for sure!Keep up the great work!

I finally got the chance this place out, being on my radar for months now! It's definitely worth the trip to Gridley, even if you live out of the way like me. The atmosphere and decor both add character in the vein of coffee shop and small town restaurant. The breakfast food was great and while not a coffee drinker, the tea I had was delicious! Highly recommend if you need a pit stop or just want to get a drink a chill. I'll need to come back during lunch to try that menu out.

Common Grounds is always pleasant to visit. The staff and owner are always very nice. The food is always very good, and the ingredients are very fresh. The menu does change throughout the year so you are never bored when visiting. Be sure to check the daily specials, they are always really great.

Great lil gem. Had a ham and cheese sandwich on a pretzel roll; ham looked and tasted like it was freshly carved, bun was soft and perfect. Coffee is great. Wonderful atmosphere. Wonderful service. What a fantastic place.

The furnishing has a thoughtful permanence that belies how new the shop is.The coffee is excellent- roasted in town by the people at Gobena coffee. You can pick out clear notes and it’s tasty.While I like the sweets, their breakfast and lunch viands are the true stand-outs. High-quality meats and rich tastes abound. It’s welcoming and fun; a pleasure to visit.
