I wanted to buy one of their beautiful mums and a pumpkin. The girls working there were so sweet to carry out the pumpkin because my hands were full. My experience couldn't have been better. The associates went beyond their duties. Highly recommend

We had great service here just came in for a shovel because ours broke on a job but had a great interaction at front desk and had to wait around for a minute because my coworker was in the bathroom and they were helping someone find a sump pump doing everything they could to track one down.Lowe’s would probably tell ya it’s out of stock and send you on your way, good people, nice store.

Dropped off 4 chains to be sharpened on Friday and told they would be ready Monday. They were not. They said come back Tuesday but I waited until Wednesday. They still were not ready on Wed. The worker blamed it on the previous days workers and the guy said he would take care of it and to come back Thursday and pick them up. Well I went Thursday evening and they still were not ready!!!!! Lesson learned! Terrible customer service!!!!!!

Bobby went ABOVE and beyond to help me find a perfect solution to my problem. Spent a good amount of time with me asking many questions to find out the proper fix. Also spent time with me helping partially assemble my purchase. In a day and age of failing customer service. Hats off Bobby.

Went in 45 minutes before closing to get what I knew I needed to repair my dish washer.Was told by the man at the counter they are closing soon. Yes, I know, I'm in a hurry too.Was then told by the girls working that they need to have the alarms set by closing, and I needed to hurry.Was allowed down the fitting isle, but not able to grab my own shut offs. Consequently was sold the wrong things that I now have to return.We always try to patronize local shops, however from now on, we will go the extra 30 minutes to the big stores where no one speaks unless spoken to.It is also not my business when you set alarms, especially since I was there 45 minutes before closing for a 15 minute errand. Plus arguing with how my appliance is wet up in my home was just as rude as all the hurry up, we're closing soon jabber.

I will no longer be spending my money at this Ace Store which is sad because in just over the past 12 months I've spent many hundreds if not thousands at this Ace store. Just in April alone I've spent around $400-$500. Well No More. I try to shop locally to help a local small business and contribute to the local tax base. But Customer Service here lacks BIG TIME! I will be taking my business to the Carbondale Ace which I have already been doing. They treat you with decency there.

This is an average Ace, and the staff are generally helpful, but if the staff can't understand why a young person calling a middle-aged woman "my dear" in a HARDWARE STORE is anything but condescending and problematic, I'm sure my comments aren't going to help them. I grew up in the south where younger people call their elders "ma'am" and "sir".Not sweetie. Not my dear. Not honey. There are other options in the DuQuoin area and I'd love to see this place treat their customers with appropriate respect. Until then, I will only shop here if I have an emergency.
