This dollar general has to be the dirtiest store I’ve ever been into. As soon as you walk in you can see it on the floor it’s just filthy, clearly no one sweeps and sure the hell doesn’t mop! We opened the cooler door to grab a drink and the smell was so disgusting I almost barked…. I felt like I needed a shower after this. 🤮🤮 Do better

I was just in a few days ago and this store is so unorganized, dirty, carts with merchandise in the aisles that don’t seem to get done. It’s disappointing that the CEO & upper management don’t seem to care as long as there’s a paycheck for them. Management in that store is unprofessional, unorganized. I remember when that store 1st opened there was a general manager (Judy) that was amazing!! She cared about her “store” and her employees. They worked hard and as a team. No teamwork at this point.PLEASE CLEAN UP THIS STORE!!! IT’S A SHAME TO THE COMMUNITY!!!

There's an employee that works here,she's tall white,and she RACIST.Don't go to dollar general if you're Hispanic or Latino.I visit the store in 4-17-23,when I asked her to remove 2 items and she told why?,and she told me that if I didn't have enough money to pay it for... infront of other costumers ..

Really enjoyed the whole ambience throughout this store. Any place with a restroom that you can walk out of still smelling your hands, is a pleasure to visit.Isles were organized with sale signs boldly on display.There was only 1 line open, but the cashier was rapidly doing transactions, so that was not much of a problem.

Overall, I enjoy dollar General. The prices are competetive, however this store is a bit tight and unorganized and the employees could be a little friendlier. I am usually in about once a month and when I do laundry nearby it is a good place to buy drinks and snacks while I wait to get my clothes done. And... If you are ever need of cash, usually you can get it here as well (The machine was down when I was in last)

Was going to buy milk yesterday but it is warm and sitting in the aisle and none was in the case. I got the 2% instead today since it was not the kind I saw yesterday and it doesn't seem much better, taste like it is about to spoil and still has 12 days left till the exp date. Hopefully it last till morning so the kids can at least have breakfast. I am hoping the stuff I felt yesterday was being pulled and not actually being stocked.

There is an employee that works here that is just nasty with no customer service abilities whatsoever! She is tall with blonde hair always in a ponytail! She never smiles, greets customers and says nasty things to people. Dollar General should really fire her I know I would if I owned a store and she treated my customers in that manner. I will never patron this store again as long as she works there.

Dollar General is supposed to be a convenient, quick stop to grab some essentials and get going again, on the positive side this store has the items you would be likely to stop in for. Staff is friendly. But long waits to check out reduce the convenience of this place quite a bit. Seldom is more than one register open and while the line isn't usually long it still seems to take too long even though most customers only have a few items to purchase.

I tried to buy soda, I took it to the cash register, 2 different employees walked by me to apparently stock the shelves, they each looked at me, didn't say anything to me, and then walked away. Maybe they should hire a cashier ...or at least train the employees that a paying customer is more important than putting snack chips on the shelf, and I never did get my soda, I left it on the counter and walked out.

I like dollar general .it has food home decor.paper products. First aid. Pain relief. A little bit of most things.and there in rural areas. And that's great 👍it a place where us in rural areas can go get Food.with out driving 10 or more miles so thanks dollar general

They are expanding the amount of goods. I was happy to see they had garden stuff for 50% off. My disappointment was they advertised Duke mayo, but didn't carry it in the DeKalb store (boo). But I did join their digital club and happy to save more😃 And my mother likes the variety of word search books.

I didn't get a hello when I walked in, no hello from cashier when I got to register, no smile just a sour face, and no have a nice day after my purchase. If you don't want to deal with customers find another job cause your personality sucks for a customer service job.

The workers here hate their jobs and it shows. They are quick to give attitude and get upset when you ask simple questions about the balloons they have that are supposed to be for sale. Won't be going back to this DG.

Poor Customer service (visit the Dekalb IL location on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 8:20 AM). They will not let customers use the restrooms. Had several items in my shopping cart with more still to shop for. Needed to use the restroom (Restrooms were locked with sign that said "see Associate for key"). The associate would not let me use the restroom. Said restrooms were only for employee use. I walked out of store with items still left in shopping cart. I guess this store is not in need of business. Will never go back!

Eerytime I go in there I feel unwelcomed. I feel like that guy named Daniel is following me especially when I'm with my kids. Everytime I go to pay if its not with him it's with the other chick that usually there I get an attitude.. definitely not cool! If I could give this place a zero star I would. Went there recently and had an attitude from both new manager and cashier! It's not my fault you can't do your job right. I let corporate know. Never going back here again.

It was my favorite place to shop but with the changes in staff and physical changes of the store id rather go to Walmart. Very unorganized, employees are not aware of current sales. Honestly, it has turn into a big dump.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPIRENCE EVER! DANIEL is the mans name who was at the register, prior to my checkout I noticed him ringing up a Hispanic family who was having a hard time understanding each other (Daniel doesn’t speak spanish) so instead of trying to help them WITH GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE , he shook his head the whole time and just kept repeating that he couldn’t understand the lady, ( I translated for her as I noticed her anxiety in trying to talk to the cashier) then Daniel goes on to try to ask her to go back to the rack she got a shirt from because there was no tag on it (she was already having a hard time ) he did not try to help her at all instead I noticed his frustration. THEN IT WAS MY TURN , and this polite woman tried to help me with a transaction and when she called him to ask for help he said to me while shaking his head in frustration, “ well I guess I could ring these up one by one “ SUPER HORRIBLE ATTITUDE ! Will be calling corporate and management I’ve seen him here many times but never had him ring me up. I chose to go to this dollar general because their selection is sometimes better than the one in cortland but NEVER AGAIN! I cannot believe the disgusting look he gave this lady because she Pilsner speak English and he showed no effort in even trying to help me either.

The remodel is nice. I'm upset that it appears that they don't seem to still carry Clover Valley chili corn chips. They were only $1! Way less than Frito Lay chii corn chips. You can save a lot of money shopping this store. Windshield wipers there are way lower than the one that I bought from Target...however good money saving shoppers need to shop around. I purchased antifreeze for my car there that cost $14. Then I went to Walmart and found the same size, different brand for $9.

Asked to use bathroom and they said it was out of order. There was no sign stating this. You’d get better service, as well as a cleaner looking store going to Dollar General in Cortland.

I love the discounted items and everyone's very helpful. Such as one employee saw my little girl and set aside some on sale items jst in case we were interested . Now we hve a Dori placemat we bought for 30 cents

The store used to be a lot cleaner under the previous manager, Judy. The new manager, Barb (the one who gave this review 5 stars to make herself look good) is ruining this store.
