I go out of my way to come to this pet store because the owner Josh is the best. He is so knowledgeable, friendly, and appreciative. His curated products are very healthy and he helps guide you on decisions for the best nutrition for your pet. I bought food for my border collie from this store pretty much his whole life and he lived a very healthy 13 years.I recently brought my family in to pick out some toys and treats for our new pup. Josh showed his pet hamster to my 18mo son and gave pistachios to feed a snack to the hamster and my heart melted seeing the sweet interactions. Thank you, Josh!

Not your average "pet store". Your Best Friend Pet Supply is the kind of store you see in movies but rarely experience in real life. The owner clearly takes pride in the store and his customers, knowing every single dogs name and the subsequent treats that follow. I've even had the owner help with personal packages! Highly recommend this wonderful pet store!

Very friendly and knowledgeable owner who is always looking out for your pets best interest.Food & treat selection is of high quality and hands picked by the owner. If there's anything you can't find he'll also go out of his way to order it for you.Occasionally they host little community events and there's always a pool out front during the summer.

Next level service. Absolute expert who delivers an unforgettable experience. BRAVO! To all the pet owners, one stop is all it takes.I casually came to Best Friend's on Friday night around 6 pm. In search of a solid cat scratcher. The gentleman, who I assume was the owner, was eager to help. He showed me around, asked questions about my pet, and handily guided me to the appropriate items.While I came for a toy, I left with a new understanding of my cat's dietary needs. He provided me a few samples of grain free dry food, and I purchased a new wet option without by-products.Thank you for an excellent experience! I'll be back.

I stop in this hidden gem occasionally when I'm in the hood to pick up some food and treats. Last week the owner saved our lives when we desperately needed doggy boots. He recommended we bring our pup with to properly size her paws. We are glad we did. He took the time to show us the right way they should be put on and then watched us do it making sure they were on correctly and tightenough. The boots are great quality and have worked perfectly for our gal. We even left with a new jacket as well. I highly recommend supporting this neighborhood business.

The owner of the shop is the coolest and friendliest guy and really loves dogs. Great quality stuff, I cannot get over how long it’s taking for my 10 month old pittie to chew down this bully stick!! The ones from the big stores are gone in a few minutes. This is the bully stick I have been waiting for. Can’t find it anywhere else. He’s always a big help every time we come in and we are always happy with our treats and food (and prices!). Don’t waste your time going anywhere else. Also he’s open late!

Probably the best pet store I’ve been. The owner is great and gives well educated recommendations. You can tell he truly cares about your pets well being! My dog wouldn’t eat anything/has been throwing up everything - he recommended some different foods, she ate it all plus kept it down!

I stopped by on the first evening I picked up my foster pup and received some great advice on toys and being a new pet owner. Josh took the time to talk over the needs and tendencies of my pet and helped calm my nerves. It's been a day and my pup loves all the items he recommended! She's currently playing with the puzzle toy I purchased while I work. I'll definitely be back and will happily recommend this store!

It's owners like this that make you want to support local businesses. Joshua is thoughtful and gracious. Not once have I been in the store to purchase dog food for my giant breed that he hasn't offered to take it out to the car for me. And he always thanks me for my business. Not just a simple "hey thanks", but a genuine, heartfelt thank you, every single time. I also love that the dog brand I purchase has a "buy 10 (or something), get one free!" loyalty program and have absolutely enjoyed that benefit a few times. Thank you, Joshua!

I met Josh (the owner) earlier this year when I moved across the street from his shop. As soon as I walked in for the first time I knew this is where I'd be coming to shop for my pup. Josh is very personable. informative, and super attentive to your pet. He doesn't feed you B.S like a lot of shops do to make a $$$, and he gives you honest advice in regards to your pet, allowing you to make an informed decision on what food/treats/etc best suits your furry friend.Josh has also become a very close friend of mine this year. He has gone so far out of his way to help me, my pup, and even my business. This little community in Wicker Park feels like family thanks to Josh. There are not enough superlatives to describe how awesome he is.Please visit if you're looking to support small pet businesses! He's affordable, has a wide variety of pet foods (even fresh dog food), and also sells CBD treatments to help soothe your pet during these ruff times, pun intended.

Joshua is a real small business owner. The store has a great selection and he is a true down to earth person. I came in looking for a specific brand of raw cat food (which was carried) and we talked for a while about how my cat was sick and had major vet bills. I got emotional and he was incredibly empathetic. Starting to feel like this review is more about him than the store (I was only there to pick up one thing), but I will return when I need more! Small business is important and this is a very good one!
