Had a great experience today at that dollar general location. I was greeted very nicely upon entering the store. The associates were very helpful & knowledgeable in regards to the right detergent I needed to buy for my daughter’s sensitive skin. I really appreciate that & hope they will continue to have more employees like them❤️

They have a wide selection of just about everything immaginable, and a food section to rival some grocery stores. Parking lot access through the alley on Chicago. From Central, it's easier. Right next to several bus stops as well.

Where do I start...it's a Ghetto Store some ppl there do give nice service while others have an attitude I went there Yesterday and the dark skined guy with a ball head give me an attitude and lied to me at least two times. They closed in the middle of the day for a shift change but lied about opening back up in 30 mins. I know because I timed it. Anywho they didn't want to give me my refund until I asked for a manager it's was just a bad experience left a bad taste and it's really poor customer service. I will not be interested in returning anytime soon ✌🏾 I pray 🙏🏾 that they do better 👌🏽😞

It is 8:18pm and the front doors are locked. Heavyset dude with hair bonnet on said close as two signs on door state open until 9. He is currently walking around on the clock doing nothing. I'm calling corporate.

It’s a shame when you call this particular Dollar General on Chicago n central in Chicago, the attitudes not having customer service training on how market your services that your online app claims the store provides and you don’t have these services when customer come to the store. We know because we shop every day in these community stores. To go and see pamphlets and ad papers about services you don’t even provide is false advertisements! You need train the young lady that’s there right now on 8am schedule today. She’s not helpful and she doesn’t let customer speak! She has no good training about satisfying customers to keep them. To lie about the sevices you provide because you don’t feel like doing your job is lazy and selfish to customers. It’s a food desert on this side already. We don’t need poor customer service. Give the job to a person grateful to make a living. She needs to go home until she gets customer service training! be helpful and if you don’t have the answer find someone who can on your team. Then, she said there is no manager to assist me. Wow! No thank you Dollar General. Your staff needs training!!! We need services and if you don’t provide them take themOff apps and online shopping!

Me and my girlfriend went there Friday and did some shopping after we left and came back they told us they was close for 30 minutes because of shifts changing so we waited until 30 minutes and came back and they tried to say it again but we told them we been waiting and they let us in but the black ball headed guy that waited on us did not want to give us our money back until I some girl that work there told him to we said we will never do business there again they be outside drinking and smoking in the parking lot and nobody say anything to them don't go shopping there they are so ghetto

Neverrrrrr open when they’re supposed to be. It’s 3:56pm and I live less than a mile from this location, and on several occasions they close without reason. Now I have to travel to the location on North Ave! Why have a store when it’s never in operation. Im so annoyed ….At least go online and update your hours.

I love the energy from the staff, the music was nice and soothing. The store was well stocked, no boxes all over the place, the store even smelled nice it's almost Christmas and they have everything from underwear, to cake mix.

I'm just going to flat out say that this place is dirty. The floors are dirty and they look like they haven't been mopped nor swept in weeks. There's old gum stains on the floors and dirty tissues and things as well. The carts are old and dirty too. This place needs to be CLEANER, and more ORGANIZED! During the pandemic, you'd think that this place would be squeaky clean. Please do better and find people that will clean this place from head to toe. It's not safe for customers or the employees. I only gave this two stars because some of the employees actually do their jobs.

Seems to be unorganized, Everytime I go in there there is boxes & racks of stock every where. The workers are helpful if something is asked if them but they mostly just talking to each other in the aisles why they take their time putting up stock.

The workers are courteous. The store is lighted and always stocked with dates items. You find what you need at affordable prices. The parking is great . In and out every time I am there no waiting in long lines.

Frequently uderstaffed, meaning it can take ages just to buy a few things because the lines get long. Staff doesn't seem to care about anything, have no sense of urgency whatsoever. Also you have to leave your bag at the front which I don't feel comfortable doing as the staff is so careless.

The young man that worked at closing time was very rude and unprofessional... He seen me walk into the store he said he was closing... I grabbed some laundry detergent and came right to the front... He said we closed I can't ring you up and I said you seen me come into the store he said well we closed I said it's only 9:03pm he said so what... We closed I said you are suppose to wait until the store is clear... He said oh well and Thats when I started recording him and he seemed to not care and was very rude and disrespectful... What type of service is this because it is clearly not customer service

I like this location because it is quick and easy to pick up small items. The shelves were a bit empty today. I had to settle for generic brand sugar.

Got everything except AAA batteries, great store except for the fact that it seems like the only people that wanna work or like to do his or her job at this particular store is the manager, the cashiers however good they may be aren't knowledgeable at all about the merchandise and have no idea if they have it or where it's located!!!

This place is always dirty, merchandise on pallets. The manager dosen't know how to talk to people. They are charging for bags even if you have a Ebt card. Because they are running low on bags.

I pretty much just come here to load cash onto my NetSpend card. Other than that, staff is very busy accusing people of shoplifting....so I keep my business very brief with them

Not bad for the west side. It's much cleaner than the one on Laramie and monroe and the employees treat you and talk to you like your a human being. they need to just close the one on Laramie and monroe. Frfr.

The store is dirty and junky. I stop in just to get a gift card and the clark informed me that it was by cash only, i had never heard of that before do to ppl dont carrys cash on them anymore and just last week they didn't say that.
