Really good service! Fixed my flat and minor other things on my bike. I left paying $20. I will be back for any other bike needs.

As a student at UIUC, I have gotten help with my bike multiple times. The repair quality is great. Not to mention the excellent customer service. I have been offered free help as well. Love this!

Went in for small fix ups for my bikes twice and the price was surprisingly low both times! The first time was for one missing bike pedal and I only paid like 5 dollars. The person made sure to find a cheaper single bike pedal that worked for my bike since a pair was about 40 dollars (?). He even pumped up my tires without me asking and didn't charge extra. The second time they fixed up my brake pads along with replacing the inner tube and they clearly knew their stuff. The price was around 25 dollars I believe.Definitely coming back if any other issues come up with my bike! Efficient at their job, just needs more employees because I believe there was around 3 people behind me waiting for the second tune up and there was only one employee at that time.

Bikelab was a decent place to take my bike for a tune up. Seemed well-priced, and they had my bike ready after a day. When I first got my bike back, they had adjusted the front derailleur to swing too far in when changing gears, having it make contact with my rear bike tire. Brought my bike back in and they seem to have fixed that problem. The gears which they tuned are better than what I had before, but a gear or two will often have trouble switching. Additionally, my mineral oil disc brakes, which they tuned, have already gotten mushy again after a month. Not sure if it's my bike's fault or not, but service could have been better all in all.

I'm so happy I found Neutral Cycle! Their pick-up and drop-off service is excellent. They did a great job with a whole bike assembly from the box, and a brake repair on a cruiser. Prices are affordable, and the customer service is terrific. I highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.

Ruchen made quick work of removing my Giant Hybrid rear tire tube and replacing it. It was awesome doing business with them. I think it took longer to get out my credit card than it did for him to do everything. Service was stellar. Price was very reasonable. I am a fan of these guys. You won't regret using them.

This is a good bike shop for simple fixes, anything beyond that approach with extreme caution and a careful eye. I sent my bike in for a new set of front brakes and cable adjustment and it came out missing one of the tensioning screws that keeps the brakes aligned. It should have been impossible to miss during repairs, even more so for an adjustment job. Luckily I knew to inspect it before leaving since it wasn't the first time I've had to send my bike back here. All in all, it was $40 not well spent.

UPDATED.The worst bike shop in Champaign. NEVER finish work on time. Called in for packing my bike on Thursday and was told work can be done on Friday. Brought my bike in on Friday and was told it would be ready on Saturday. I walked in Sunday and my bike is still sitting on the rack. I asked when would it be done, and the guy simply said “I don't know”. Go somewhere else if you could because they don't care about customers.UPDATE: my bike was packed immediately after my 1 star review. However, they packed a $3000 large enduro bike into a women road/commute bike box, used cardboard as cushion instead of foam, and used duct tape on cardboard box. I have never seen such a poorly packed bike in my life. I will rather drive to bike shops in Bloomington instead of visiting here again.

Back again recently to get two new spokes. They installed and trued the wheel the same day!! This shop is the best, hands down!! My bike is my source of transportation and if I can't fix it myself this is where I go. Thanks again.Best Shop in town!! Great service at fair prices. Fast and sturdy repairs. We bought a bike from them and forgot about the 30 day tune up we had and then needed service and they still did the work for free. Great staff who never criticize your bike, they just get the work done. They offer recommendations but I've never felt upsold. They have even told me that I didn't need certain things when I've asked about them. We have five bikes in our family and this is where we go for service.

Bad service. Rude employees that only care about charging you instead of helping you. This is coming from a college student who they took advantage of. I went in for a replacement tube and left with a broken axel. They hadn’t securely screwed my back wheel on correctly and as a result of that my axel snapped.I went in the same day and they said a new axel and labor would be upwards of 100$… They were not helpful at all. I would go somewhere else. *I don’t typically write reviews but this place was AWFUL.I forgot to mention that after my tire was replaced I bought new grips. The worker shared that he could put them on real quick and ended up charging me a 10$ labor fee without telling me before he did the work. Another case of getting taken advantage of. Make sure you retrain them on sharing the prices.

Good place for fixing a flat, but not for anything more complicated.Friendly staff, but disorganized and no management. I had a laundry list of things that I wanted fixed on my bike. The technician took all this down on a work order. Later, when I was told my bike was fixed, not even half of what I wanted was done. So I went back later and everything was done. But there was still a problem with the gear shift. They fixed it, but now there are still problems with it. Granted, I have an internal hub and they might not have that much experience with that. I will have to find another bike shop to try to fix this properly.

I am an alumni of UIUC. Neutral cycle was the best bike shop on campus by far. Most reliable, very communicative, and do not do things to your bike without your knowledge/ consent. 10/10 would recommend. I remember a manager named Paul was always super helpful if he still works there! Thanks again, I still love riding my purefix bike I purchased from you.

I have been here several times and they are always great! I brought my old bike in to have it serviced a few times, and then bought a refurbished bike from them when my old bike was stolen (they have a great discount program for victims of stolen bikes). They have great customer service, very helpful and friendly. Some other bike shops in town are obviously targeting the high end/racing end of the spectrum of bike owners, whereas Neutral Cycle is definitely geared toward the commuter, student, recreational rider.

Every time I'm here there is wonderful customer service, and a very knowledgeable staff. They always tell you what's going on with your bike if you inquire and want to know. The one time I had an issue over a repair cost they were not ride, and figured out the issue very quickly (it was just a mistake with their entry). It can get very busy during the school semester here, so plan early and call in to set an appointment. During the summer I've only ever had to wait a few days (~3 days max).Always helpful, and very up front with pricing and what you need versus maintenance or upcoming costs. Very reasonable pricing compared to the other bike shops in town.TL;DR Great service, reasonable pricing, knowledgeable staff. Happy returning/continuing customer.

I own a old bike that my grandfather gave me and it for sure has seen better days. Despite it's many issues I keep it for it's sentimental value. The staff at Neutral Cycle are very knowledgable, and are always able to fix it up for me. For the fair prices, fantastic service, and great location I highly recommend to anyone riding a bike on campus.

Brought my bike and my fiancé’s bike in today before we started riding for the summer. The people working were incredibly friendly, helpful, nonjudgmental, and hardworking. They worked for a while on my bike, without complaining at all. I was glad to give them my business and will continue to do so. I recommend it to anyone looking for bike help, parts, etc.

I've gone into the store three times in the past week: first time just to look around, second with my friend who had a broken bike, and third because my own bike had an issue. Each time I was greeted nicely and was met with professional opinions. You can see right off the bat that these guys know what they're doing. The shop itself is very simple itself and has a clean aesthetic to it. My bike had to get its rear tube replaced and I bought a kickstand. The price was very reasonable and they even adjusted my handlebars for free. Would highly recommend this bike shop for any bike related issues/questions.

Last week I brought in my bike to get a flat tire repair. It was no ordinary flat. Long story short, it was something from the inside of my rim causing the flat which they discovered after losing three inner-tubes. They repaired the flat and didn't charge me for the labor. They were great; I highly recommend them.

Amazingly helpful and down to earth staff. Gave my old rusty a great tune up for a reasonable price and even gave me tips on easy maintenance I can do to prevent/troubleshoot a problem I was having w one of my brakes. They not only perform the service requested, but also educate in bike things. Certainly a great community resource that this town is lucky to have :) ..oh yeah and FREE AIR!

The staff at Neutral Cycle are friendly and try their best to explain what's going on with my bike (I don't know much about bikes). Had to fix both wheels and brakes on separate occasions, all of which they handled really efficiently and well.

I went here a few weeks ago to get a bike lock and the owner actually put the bike lock holder on my bike and taught me how to use it as I was not familiar with this type of lock. While I was there, he also put a knew kick stand on my bike, helped me pump up my tires, and checked my bike for any other potential problems. It was wonderful to have everything taken care of at one time and the owner was very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. I would recommend this shop to everyone!

Stunningly awesome customer service. Reasonable prices, considering it's a college town with lots of bikers and a captive audience! The shop itself is stylish, clean, and welcoming, and make sure not to miss Sammy the dog. Brewlab next door is part of the same company, and there is even a door right to the coffee shop inside the building! Getting ultra-high-quality coffee after dropping off a bike to be serviced is quite the dream.Would recommend this shop as the one bike resource you'll ever need in C-U.

I brought my vintage bike in for routine maintenance and was looking for advice on how to change it from a road bike into a tri bike for my first race. Their prices were very reasonable, work was performed quickly, and they kept in communication with me as additional work was required to get the bike up to racing specs. Every staff member I dealt with was very friendly and I appreciated how honest they were when making recommendations on what enhancements to make to the bike. They didn't try to up sell me on bike components and take advantage of my lack of biking knowledge. I definitely would recommend shop to anyone in need of bike repair, supplies, or even a new bike. I will be a repeat customer!

Neutral Cycle has great bikes, but it's unparalleled service is what I love most. The employees are extremely patient and open to helping people new to the biking world. The owner, Tim, understands absolutely what it means to put the customer first. I've never seen another business owner both so passionate and good-natured. To put it best, this store is the epitome of what a local bike shop should be.

Went in for some help selecting a bike, knowing only a little about them. Staff seemed reluctant to engage with me at all, gave vague and unhelpful answers, and just generally seemed to be disinterested in helping me. I ended up going to a different shop where the staff were so much friendlier.

I've taken my bike into neutral cycle a couple times this year and have not been disappointed. Great fast service for an affordable price. They also have a fantastic staff who are genuinely helpful and friendly. I wouldn't go to another bike shop in town!

Neutral Cycle in Champaign is GREAT!I took in my 30+-year-old bike to get revamped. Josh checked itover, (without judgment I might add), told me what should be done but also the least I could repair but still be safe with a nice ride.I chose the cheaper path and it was great to be on a bicycle again! This time without a baby seat or a young child to worry about.Within a week the back wheel was stuck. I called Neutral Cycle thinking I would have to fix the things I chose not fix. Matt, the manager, walked me through a repair over the phone. When that didn’t fix my problem and I wouldn’t be able to get into the shop for a few days he offered to stop by my house for an inspection on his way home from work. (I was kind of in route for him)Who does that?!After the repair he told me to stop in the shop when I’m out so he could adjust something else but didn’t have the tool. A week later I was able to get over to the shop where they would not accept payment for the house call or the adjustment that day.Obviously, Neutral Cycle offers excellent customer service, a knowledgeable crew who enjoy their jobs, everyone is super friendly even though busy and, I feel, priced fairly.Buy, Rent, or Bicycle Repairs … go to Neutral Cycle! They are located on 5th Street just north of Green.Thank You Josh & Matt!

Every single worker was helpful and kind to me. I went in just to tighten some bolts - ended up needing a half hour plus I had to remove my tire. They were extremely knowledgeable about bikes and refused to charge me for using their tools.
