Aisles are cluttered, shelves are disorganized. Sadly, this is typical. The bonus on this trip was the person sleeping in a stall in the bathroom. Even on its best days, this Walmart is maybe three stars and that's taking into account it gets a ton of traffic from people stopping in from I-64 and I-57.And keep in mind: this was a Friday night, and the town is going to get packed over the next 2 days with visitors for the solar eclipse. Who knows how much of a disaster that store is going to be over the next few days.

Not enough checkout lanes people waiting its rediculas.You take away checkout people and replace them with auto checkouts that are shutdown because your still understaffed.Sam Walton would roll over in his grave if he saw how bad Walmart Service is today!

This mount Vernon Illinois walmart is one of the worst walmarts around, employees at self checkouts stands around talking to each other standing in your way , and when you need help they act like it will hurt them to help you . This place is awful.

Lately the music overhead has been so loud in there and other people I've talked to have noticed the same. Turn it down some. And PLEASE have more of the self check outs take cash and give cash back; more and more they are keeping them on card only which is a pain.

Do not use self checkout unless you want to be charged with retail theft the machines don't always scan properly we were double and triple charged for some items and not charged for others and had a loss prevention employee who needed his third victim so he could be promoted to his own store well you know what happened next he was happier than a kid in a candy store no questions asked just arrested we no longer nor will ever shop at Wal Mart again since then we've noticed that allot of every day items are cheaper elsewhere quite a bit cheaper Walmart is a rip off I highly recommend not to shop there.

I debated between a 3 or a 4 just based on some staffs attitudes or my perception of them.Maybe due to the Grand coming to an end or maybe some people here just are laize fare when it comes to customers purchasing firearms BUT I detest Walmart's POLICY to require a three day wait AND an NICS check to sell a muzzleloader when neither federal or states require one.I had to drive 300 extra miles to pick it up instead of walking out the door earlier this week. And when it comes to WALMARTS electronic AND paper system to go through a (not) required NICS check AND then because their staff DID NOT write in the paper tablet that my background check was approved on the day I tried to purchase it, they almost had to start over.Everyone seemed to know everyone else's passwords too - not very secure. And while it did not take as long as the last pickup, there was no apologies, authentic or otherwise, provided for my 50 minute wait just to pick it up...This experience was 180 degrees from the Centralia and Vandalism stores today. A 180 degrees...Yes, I'm not in a good mood but that is more a reflection on several of the staff there in Sparta (not all) and not totally on me...

This Walmart isn’t like most others. The shelves are always well stocked. They have a broader selection than my local Walmart and the prices are slightly cheaper. They have a larger vegan selection. The employees aren’t shoving you out of their way for their click list shopping. The employees leave me alone, which frankly I find important and appreciate! I drive 30 extra minutes out of town to go to this location!

Absolutely horrible for people with sensory issues. People are packed in here like sardines screaming and yelling and the speakers in the store are at full volume blasting annoying music and there's a "Walmart radio" advertisement that comes on after nearly every song that's somehow even louder. No clue how someone could work, much less allow such a chaotic environment. Very unpleasant experience.

Checkout lady was very helpful. I bought a electric toothbrush and asked her if I needed to buy any batteries too she had to put on her glasses as she just had had cataract surgery but she answered my question and I appreciated her thoroughness.

This place is a joke. I rarely even go in here. You can rarely find an actual cashier. God forbid you need assistance for any reason because they look at you like you're a big bother. The guy in electronics, Jeff,I believe is rude. I made a cash purchase and asked for change for a 20- it was a fight. I'll be doing my shopping else where.

Great selection. Could use a better layout. UPDATE.... evidently no one that works there has a sense of urgency! And to hell with self checkout! I don't work there and you are not paying me to do your job plus we are not seeing any price drop for you saving money on not employing enough checkers! Update: still sucks! Can't find anything you need and EVERYONE is getting tired of you rearranging! Update: 7/26/23 I still hate you and not enough checkers!!!
