Unfriendly untrained young cashier; manager with a bad attitude, no desire to help solve a problem, yelling at employees - bad enough any time, but in front of customers is even worse. GM's backwards illogical excuses about return policies shows lack of knowledge, lack of customer service skill, and a lack of a desire to help. So much for trying to support local business. This one sucks.

Trying to find help in here is about as bad as going to walmart.. sarcastic staff. Seems like your bothering them when you do eventually get service. Try not to go there much unless absolutely necessary.

I love this Ace! We always get great service here! I needed to replace an electrical switch so I removed it from the wall. I'd never seen one quite like this one, so I took it with me. When I came into the store, Ryan the Mgr asked me if he could help! I showed him the switch and explained what I was doing, he new axactly what I needed and promptly walked me over to the switches and picked out the one I needed and also showed me how to install it! It might be a little cheaper at a big box store, but you definitely do not get this kind of service! Every time I go to Ace, upon entry I am asked if I need help and always get great service!! That's why I shop at the Ace Hardware in Centralia!!

Came in to get a key duplicated, and requested information on Carpet Cleaning Rentals from center of the store at their Help Center. Immediately felt that I was not really "welcomed" there. It was so strange growing up here, but this city has changed. I went across the street to Schnucks, where they also had Carpet Cleaning Rentals at a higher rate, and instantly decided my money be better spent at this Location/ Company as I was greeted, accommodated, and had all of my brief questions politely answered. Like I said earlier, the rental was more expensive, I happily paid due to simple kindness.

I went to Ace to get top soil & pea gravel for a fall yard project. The prices on both were very reasonable & the young man was practically loading my purchases the minute I walked out with my receipt. Love the service I always get at Ace!

Would give zero if could. Sold wrong paint for home project that took 2 days. Their offer to make it right was telling us to sand it off and given new paint. The paint maker could not believe they sold us such low grade paint and offered to help anyway they can. Ace says sorry go do 2 more days work!

Rented a power auger. No waiting for someone to help you. Walk up to the counter and you get a "how can I help you?". Wide array of anything you need. Great place.

Staff seems friendly enough and store is OK but I'm not impressed with the tool rental service. I called and they said they had an item available but after driving 25 minutes to get there they had rented out to another person after I had told them I was on the way to rent it. Poor rental policy. I went to another nearby store to buy my hardware supplies for my project.
