Crystal groomed my Shih Tzu grand pup last week.It was her first time grooming him andthis is a breed that can be groomed in many ways. When I arrived I requested a couple of adjustments and she gladly accommodated. He looked so handsome! Thank you Crystal!I’m glad I have a local groomer that I trust!

This location donated an awesome gift basket for our local mental health non-profit fundraiser. When I told that to a fellow volunteer, she said this location sent her a really sweet sympathy card when her dog passed away and she had to cancel her appointment. Little things like this make a huge difference in the community.

I took both of my dogs, one who is 6 years old and the other who is a 16 week old puppy. The groomer said our older dog was an angel and said the puppy “needs some work.” The lack of empathy was alarming, otherwise the other staff was kind. Once we got into the car my boyfriend noticed blood. She has 2 wicks that were exposed and it got all over me and my car. When I called the groomer, she said it must’ve been the dogs fault. I understand puppies can be difficult and our puppy isn’t fond of strangers, but the lack of empathy until I sounded frustrated on the phone is very disappointing. Our older dogs muzzle was uneven and they cut his tail when we asked them to not do so. We are now noticing small cuts on his skin. Our puppy also has two deep mats on her muzzle which I may have missed on day to day, but she’s never had issues with matting so far and we brush every other night. It took some time, but I got them out. I also had to trim one of her ears because they were very uneven. When I first called they told me the puppy cut would be $45-50 and I was charged $71. To say the least, we will not be coming back.

Mostly love this place for nail trims. Occasionally they don't get them short enough but my girl is not an easy trim so it's fine. Good customer service and wonderful staff.

The Barking Lot has been such a blessing for me. I am able to get my service dog good quality food that is not available at large pet stores; as well as entrust their caring staff with my life line for grooming. My service dog loves going to get groomed, and they do an excellent job listening to my requests and having him clean and looking his best while out working in public. Both their products and services are very reasonably priced which is a big relief when on a tight budget. I would recommend them to anyone interested in quality food, treats and grooming for their special 4 legged friend!

I called The Barking Lot, explained that my 5 month old puppy has had sanitary grooms but needed a full haircut. They said not a problem and it would be $60. My mother took her in for me as I was working, the groomer said she would “try” to groom her, as if she knew she wasn’t going to do it.. 2 hours later, my mom picks up my puppy who only had a bath and a HORRIBLE sanitary trim (she has been licking her privates since going in). They still charged the $60 for doing basically nothing. The explaination of not grooming was my puppy was too anxious… of course she was, it was her first haircut, do your job, she will get over it. I asked for a refund/said I was overcharged or to try again and they said the manager would need to call me because the price was correct. I have not heard back from the manager. And if a sanitary trim and bath is $60 than that is outrageous. I will never go back there again.

I brought in a mess of an Aussie, a year overdue for a haircut and shedding like it was his job. Samantha gave him a thorough bath and blowout, a wonderful trim and shaped his nails perfectly. Service here is friendly and professional and it all came in under the originally quoted price. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

The Barking Lot is simply the best. They have a fantastic selection of toys, pet foods, and treats, plus a knowledgable staff. They are huge supporters of local animal welfare groups, like Spay Illinois, hosting monthly pet vaccine clinics and fundraisers for local pets and families in need. Definitely worth a visit. (PS: Ned really likes his toys from Barking Lot)

Jen was amazing! She took excellent care of our 4 y/o black lab, Kyzer. I called and was able to get a same day appointment. Jen somehow managed to clip his nails without a problem. This is the only place I would bring my dog. Everyone is so kind and caring. With everything that has happened in the last couple of years, they have had to raise their nail trim price from $12 to $15 on regular days. They had to remove their 1/2 price days, but we’re awesome enough to offer 5 different days of the week to get a nail trim for only $10. I understand the change in price. I sure can’t do it myself anyway!! They are fast, accurate and super accommodating. Happy and grateful customer for sure!

Just got both of my dogs nails trimmed at a walkin appointment. Service was friendly and fast, price was extremely reasonable. Nail tech was even great with my nervous dog!Store is on the small side but they have made excellent use of the space and multiple doors to create one-way traffic through the store (one entrance-only and one exit-only door) with staging points for multiple customers so that, even when you are waiting with several parties, you have enough space to properly social distance.Great service, thoughtful use of the space for pandemic precautions. A+ would recommend.

We have had inconsistent experiences (the reason for 3 stars) but this past Tuesday was by far the best. We have a Golden retriever who has often left there with wet ears and unevenly trimmed. Michelle gave our dog the best cut she's had since we've been going there for almost 4 years. She was meticulous about trimming around and in her ears, derriere, chest and legs and was completely dry. Michelle gets 5 stars!

Poor customer service, attitude, and unwelcoming atmosphere!Every time I drop my dog off for service, they ask for proof of vaccination. I have submitted the correct updated information SEVERAL times. However, this time the greeter explained Illinois law and their late charge for picking up your dog after 30 minutes of their completion of a service call with an attitude and a fake smile.I questioned whether I should leave my dog in a place where the greeter feels it's inconvenient to treat people with authentic kindness.When I picked up my dog, I submitted the vaccination proof again, and there was no conversation, just entering the information and the famous question, would you like to tip.In the past, my dog would have a cute little bow, necktie, and scarf, with a few words about his experience and an offer to schedule the next visit. Unfortunately, there was nothing, but here's your dog.There has been a merger with another grooming business. My experience has led me to look for a different groomer.

Have been going here for years and have finally had enough. First, it used to cost $50 to take my 2 dogs, now it’s $65 for a single dog. Second, the cuts are always inconsistent, they ask “same as last time” and read off the sheet from last visit. And it’s never the same. The cuts are patchy and uneven. And third, this past visit was the worst I’ve had in almost 10 years of coming here. After 3 hours I called to ask how much longer for my dog. They replied with another hour and half, that’s when I stated that I had dropped my dog off at 10:30 am and it’s now almost 1:30. All they said was they were busy. No apology or anything. After getting my dog back he was very slow and groggy. Very achy and uncomfortable for a couple days after. I don’t know if they cut him or hurt him but I will not be going back to this place.

Friendly staff. Groomers do a great job. $5 nail trims on Tuesdays and Thursdays! They never leave rough edges on our pups nails. They also have an awesome cat that usually greets you when you come in.

We've been taking our labradoodle here for grooming for 3 years now, and just recently took our rescue mutt in for a spiff-up, too. We have been very happy with the service. Our dogs look great and seem to enjoy their "day at the spa." The groomers are caring to the dogs and they try to do exactly what the owners want, in terms of the type of cut. We also take advantage of discount days for nail trims. I highly recommend The Barking Lot.

My Polly can be a little nipper at times, here she did very well with Jeannette the groomer and the other girls. I was very impressed with her end result after her hair had been neglected for months by me. Her shave was even , and not bald or too short! Typical grooming prices and they also offer pet items for purchase such as bakery cookies and chew sticks of all varieties. I will definitely be a returning client.

This is a wonderful place!!! I have been going here for my two pooches' grooming for years and I never worry about them, always knowing they are safe and in great hands.In addition, they both come back looking perfectly preened, cleaned, and with a BIG bounce in their step ... I know they feel good and we all know they LOOK GOOD.I would recommend them to anyone shopping for grooming services for their pets.

Nice people but they keep going up on dog nail trims. It was 6 not it’s 10 on special. Regular 15$. For something that takes 45 seconds . Going to start doing them myself , raise prices you lose customers. Just saying
