We1st off my last visit was my last until i needed a fish. That will be a while so long as the cup betta I recently bought starts eating. As I sold a King betta in a cup. Yes, I chose to buy him. After all, no one else would he was clearly not well. I asked several employees and the manager, who all assured me that he was a healthy betta. Had I known that he was sick, I was getting into a $30 plus rescue. Unsure of his survival at the beginning.Now, I would have insisted on a discount on the purchase because i paid over $20 for the betta. I Do Not Regret the decision to keep him and start treatment. The metroplex is on its way. So yes, I am still undergoing treatment, and I have spent close to an extra $40. That's not my point.Honest customer service is my point.His gill was missing a scale, and his fins were clamped shut.Not the point Customer service is only available from the floor employees , and management is unpredictable.Why didn't the manager who knows who I am may name didn't give me a discount when I pointed out the missing scale and he didn't look very healthy. Yet she insisted he was fine and just needed out of the cup. I trusted that she would have discounted him, I knew he wasn't well. I wanted to trust her and I did. 2 days later he declinedThe rewards program for fish is officially worthless. Without getting a discount on your actual fish and just supplies, then it's not worth the time, effort, or money. Once you've stocked your tank, your good. But for supplies, which as fish keepers we all know that you can't beat what online provides and you're probably definitely going to need that subscription. And plants offline are great but once your planted again online for your additives.Again, it's not the point if you have everything that you need and you're only going on occasion for your frozen foods or for fish That Must Be Quarantined and treated broad spectrum. Or you could kill your whole livestock. Yet they exclusively have excluded fish from the discount. Therefore, when you go get you a new gourami for the community tank, well, you may need to restock if you didn't quarantine the fish!! So now you can't restock at a discount if you don't quarantine.It shouldn't be this way. PETCO MAKES MILLIONS!!! They simply can't put in 50 little 1 Gallon heated and filtered water for the betta fish and therefore their customers don't spend $40 more elsewherebecauseim not givingthemmore money. Well, they probably think we're not all going to run there for the meds. Ha, not me. Aalways stay prepared shopping there. I lacked the metroplex. Never expected internal parasites!!! From a cup?? Yea, it makes me wonder how they are really cared for prior to going through the shipping process.It's probably a cup. Who knows.Petco should truly heat their water in the tropical tanks and provide all betta with the same care in just a 1g box and a cup to go home. Probably always keep kanaplex and metroplex in their water. They have horrible fish.Although I've heard the same of Petsmart there's 1 just as close in a different direction I just rather try that next time.

I always come to Petco for my Boa's needs and they take the best care of me, specifically their employee Jillian! I also highly recommend joining their Vital Care program

What great customer service from Mason!! The other day we got a new addition to our home from petco and had to return the next day for some more tank stuff for our snake and Mason came up to us and really made it possible for us to make sure our baby is comfortable! Thank you!!

I had a difficult time finding what I was searching for and I ended up asking cashier for assistance. It turns out the item was up there and not in the pet section, where it was the last time I purchased it. That’s confusing, but I know I sometimes switch things around too. It’s not a big deal at all.The product I bought is a very good product. The use of it with my dog and her being hyper, it calms her down and gives me more headache free time.She’s a mix of Mini Dachshund and Jack Russel Terrier (DNA verified) sold as pure Dachshund prior to being weaned. I wish there were laws against that. Of course, she came from a private seller. The public needs to know those two breeds DO NOT MIX!Thanks

I took my students here for a quick community outting for good behavior. We enjoyed looking around and seeing the animals, fish, and reptiles. We spent a good 20 minutes in the store. The staff were nice. Just a heads up, you are not able to hold or pet any animals unless you are interested in purchasing.

I was terribly dissappionted to see fish for sale with obvious patches of ich, multiple tanks with dead fish and one tank had a large pile of dead fish. I will only shop here for supplies but never for live animals due to the horrific conditions the fish are kept in.

Went to pick up a fish tank that showed in stock online just for the girl to tell me they had been out of stock and hard forgotten to update the system but this was not the biggest issue. The issue was the customer service from said employee (short blonde hair, skinny). Employee had no interest in helping find a substitution since I had drove down all the way from Metropolis, after she proceeded to tell me they had none. She walked away and started doing something else. Never apologized for the incorrect info on their online page and did not even bother to ask if there was anything she could do to help. Not sure what kind of business hires such bland and disinterested employees who could carelesss about the customer experience. She would definitely not be working for me with that kind of attitude. Will be going to pet smart for all my pet needs.

Everything In-Store was great until checkout when we find out that if you want a bag for your purchases, you have to buy the bag. Was NOT Expecting to have to pay to get my things to my vehicle or my house from my vehicle.

I bought 6 Bettas Saturday night and cashier would not give me a bag. He said the fish won't be able to breath. I needed two bags NOT to pile the containers on top of another but side by side so they wouldn't slosh around as I drove home. I had to go to get a bag at Old Navy next door. So please educate your cashier's.

I picked up my 6.7lb toy poodle and could have cried. The groomer said that even two of them were not able to hold her down for a good clip. She didn’t smell clean, not sure she had even been given a bath. there was gunk under her eyes that hadn’t been cleaned or the hair clipped. Her overall coat was various lengths, terribly uneven. They had not clipped under her neck.She is an eight month old puppy that has been clipped before.The manager offered no apology, just said I needed to pay the full amount for the groom. I told her I would have to take the dog home and bathe her myself, and have another groomer clip her hair. The manager just said, I had to pay the full amount, she said “Dear, you owe $57 for the groom and another $5.99 for the materials it took to groom her.”I am 70 years old, but I did not appreciate the condescending attitude. This was one of the worst grooming experiences I have ever had with a dog.

Purchased an upgraded feline carrier, for our ORANGE TABBY, DASH, he's about 15 months old, and weighs 20 lbs, and still growing! He wouldn't fit in his old one anymore!Petco has got your quality, pet supplies covered! You get what you pay for! Thank you, Petco!!!

I went in mid week and it was a lot nice then going on the weekend there was a employee available to help me there was more than one of them to help not a bunch of kids let off their leash to run around the pet store

We have 5 established Beta tanks (including a sorority tank) in our house; and Satyr has helped us with all of them! From knowledge on tank issues and teaching us how to keep them healthy to helping us name them, we couldn't ask for more! Satyr is most definitely our go to person every time we visit the store!

Con: Fish died after 4-5 days. I Don't recommend.Pro: I like my small Imaginariumaquarium. Filter in back biological. Sponge and bead cartridge with water pump. Good flow.

I love getting my supplies here, not only for the convenience, but bc there are SO many kind and wonderful workers!!! They truly are so helpful and nice every time. Although I would say the gentleman with the Chicago tattoo could be a little more friendly to the customers. Just saying.
