Lisa refused to even look for the product I saw online that they had in stock. No one was in line, so there was no one else sure needed to attend to & the stock guy was so wasted that he couldn't even understand my question.Absolutely HORRIBLE!I went to a different location and the gentleman in back stopped stocking to help me. He looked, then took my name and number when he didn't find it. Then called me within minutes of leaving the store to tell me he found it....Giant City Rd is my new go to Dollar General location.

Jason Vaughn is a wonderful guy who works here and will always go the extra mile to take care of the customers! The store is often understaffed but the staff they do have are hardworking and dedicated!!! I do almost all my shopping here because I am a single woman and the prices can’t be beat!!!:)

Pretty decent branch. The employees are laid back, funny but hardworking at the same time. Decently stocked with little to no product on the floors, but the floors are a bit dirty. I'll give credit to the fact that it's in the early evening, as I also work at a DG and understand it.

This is the best Dollar General in the area! I've been to the other two in Carbondale, and they can feel a bit sketchy at times. Not this one! It is always been a pleasant experience shopping here. Clean store and super friendly staff!

Friendly staff. Undergoing a quick refresh or mini remodel. More decorator items and household items being added. Its not a walmart so the selection is limited on some items but generally you will find what you need without going to the crowded big box store.

Best DG around and lucky for me if is the closest store to my home. Great prices, good selection, very helpful and gracious employees, always plenty of parking, seems like there is something new to discover each time I go, from personal hygiene, clothes, seasonal, gifts, housewares, food, hardware and paper products. So happy they are there.

Sorry no pics but this little secluded location was excellent!!!! The male clerk greeted me and was very helpful when I asked location of items. The store was clean...i would go there again & also recommend it. Was my 1st visit and much friendlier than the hunting i recieved at the new era road location!!!!!

The selection was limited and most prices are over a dollar. The workers have always been helpful and courteous to me whenever I had a question. The checkout lines move quickly and there seems to be enough staff to keep the store clean and organized.

Staff is always friendly but many items are perpetually out of stock: mostly refrigerator and freezer foods. Dry foods, snacks, and home basics are normally in stock. When this store first opened there was always a wide variety of items but that variety is now gone and you're going to see the same items at this DG that you'd see at a thousand other DGs nationwide. Good stop for a quick snack, TP, or some other basic item but not much else.

Great service, the cashier was super friendly, but the card reader was broken and I had to swipe my card 10 times before it worked. However, through it all the friendly cashier kept a talking away making the long wait seem at least shorter.

It usually has what I'm looking for when I go there. Considering the only General Store that isn't a gas station left in my hometown is a Dollar General, I also get a nostalgic feeling when I go in. It's great!

This is the first DOLLAR STORE in Southern Illinois that I have been in and it is clean,shelves are neat and prices are, visible,cashiers are friendly and helpful.i have gone to the Dollar Store in Carterville.ill,West Frankfort ill.both stores and the are NASTY!!!!! And cashiers are rude and very unhelpful.and shelves are in organized and can't find prices.clothes and toys in the isles.i only SHOP at the Dollar Store on new 51 in Carbondale,ill.

I have lived in Carbondale for 3 years, this is the first time I've ever been to the Dollar general on highway 51. It was extremely clean, well put together, well stocked, friendly staff and it is the only Dollar general that I will go to in this area now I just want to say thank you to the staff

Fast and convenient. Beats driving all the way to Carbondale or Anna for household items. Surprisingly wide variety of items all with very reasonable prices. Open just late enough if you need somthing at the last minute they will still be open. A blessing for South hwy 51 residents!

Dollar General is great for picking up everything from milk to a gift or 4th of July decorations. Fast in and out service with a hugh variety of items !

Brand new Dollar General store as of August, 2016. It's probably similar to most other Dollar General stores -- and there are a lot of them, they seem to be located in rural areas where there are little to no commercial offerings. In spite of the name, not everything is a dollar.
