Just had my 4 year old hound mix groomed for the first time ever here. I had previously handled it by myself but with a 100lb anxious dog it was hard. She came back happy and so clean, they even got her nails which is huge for her. The price was also much less than I was expecting after moving here from the city. 10/10 will absolutely use this service again.

This establishment is incredibly accommodating and did a fantastic job with our new to us, fresh from the shelter Alaskan Shepherd! I called in the morning and Chris was able to get our gentle giant Polar in for a full on grooming, it’s safe to say he hadn’t been maintained in while and ready for a healthy dose of affection and love that a groomer can bring. I picked up Polar, smelling fresh, with significantly less fur, and a giant smile on his face. We will be frequent visitors in the future. Thanks so much!

My dogs love visiting their groomer! The owner is amazing, and his staff is always super friendly. I have a golden retriever and a sheepadoodle, so they both have such different needs and The Dog Barber not only knows how to handle their coats, they know exactly what these two need and they always do a phenomenal job making sure my pups are gorgeous!

I took my long-haired German Shepherd and they did a great job on his haircut/bath! He looks great and they were able remove a good amount of his undercoat for the summer.

I’ve been taking my shih tzu, Shadow, here for years!! It’s a great place and she always looks and smells great when I pick her up. This place was recommended by a neighbor and Shadow’s been going ever since. Great price too!

I just brought in my dog for the first time and I was really impressed with their service! They made him feel really soft and fluffy! He even got to hang out with other dogs. Although I don't bathe my dog a lot, I will definitely come back!

Awesome place. I cant say enough about it. Chris does a great job on my English Shepherd Winston, he always smells great and stays silky smooth and shed free for a long time after being groomed. I took Winston in the morning after a run in with a Skunk. He came back like a brand new dog. He didnt smell even after getting wet. It was amazing. Going to the Dog Barber has also been like dog therapy for Winston. He has become tolerant of other dogs and socially interacts well with them at The Dog Barber. Thanks, Chris!!

We had so much trouble getting nails cut on our English Bulldog, Spike. We tried several different groomers and two different Vets. But no one was able to handle Spike until my husband stopped by Original Dog Groomers and introduced our dog to Chris. The man is the Original Dog Whisperer! Within minutes, Chris had Spike's nails groomed and my husband and Spike were ready to go. It was amazing! Now we take both our dogs to Chris and I recommend ODG to every pet owner I meet. You won't be disappointed. Chris is truly great.

Perfect experience! After a traumatizing experience at another groomer this place is top notch! They respected my wishes of my dog not being caged. Price is very reasonable especially for the northwest suburbs. Plus my Yorkie came out extra cute and she was happy. Regret not coming in sooner!

We are very happy with the overall service we receive at the Original Dog Barber. Our standard poodle is very happy when she arrives and beautiful when she is completed. She likes that she is not in a cage and can walk around and look out the window to wait for me! We highly recommend this groomer for our beloved dog!

Our family friends suggested Chris and his amazing staff after we had a terrible experience at our previous groomer. We trust our friends and are so glad that we brought our two dogs to Chris! Our dogs used to hate going to the groomers and after today, I have never seen them so incredibly happy and kissing their groomer before we left. They look and smell amazing. I've taken my senior rescue pomeranian here for his last three groomings. The Original Dog Barber is far and away the best groomer we've had the pleasure of visiting! The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and able to work with a dog who has difficulty being handled. His coat always comes back shockingly soft and his cut stays looking symmetrical and fresh for weeks. 10/10

They’re awesome! We’ve been taking our dogs (mini schnauzers) for the past 3ish haircuts and they’ve always done such a great job! One of our dogs isn’t the easiest to handle and yet the cut is still perfect! We prefer going to the Original Dog Barber over petsmart because all around, the service has always been a better experience and they’re more affordable as well. Thank you guys!

They don't treat the dogs that come in with care and I will never be going back. Owner is very unprofessional and frankly, quite rude.The way the owner aggressively grabbed our dog at drop off had me worried the whole time he was there for grooming. A few hours later when I called to ask nicely how long it might take, he took the phone from the woman who was checking for me and sounded annoyed that I was even asking, then proceeded to hang up on me. This forced me to go pick my dog up while he had only been bathed because I worried how he was being treated. The owner proceeded to charge me $40 for just a bath... I paid it and left without making a scene even though he claims otherwise. What this business needs to realize is that dogs are so important to their families and they need to be doing everything to make all families feel that they are in good hands. The whole situation was handled completely wrong and the owner's ego prevents him from reaching out to customers to correct bad experiences, he simply marks their reviews as fraudulent and carries on with 5 stars.

My dogs both have issues physically...one has a bad back and the other has skin tabs...Chris and his wonderful staff make my dogs look and smell great and even my barky boy does well in their care. Dog Barber came highly recommended by a neighbor and now I give the same thumbs up!

I ordered ham and eggs, hash browns burnt. I told the waitress that I would be very upset if they were not burnt. After waiting for my food for a half hour, a different server brings out the food, potatoes barely cooked. I sent them back to be made properly. They came back with the response that they could not be cooked more. I sent them back saying that I don't want them. I waited while my wife ate her food, then went somewhere else to eat. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Chris the owner of The Dog Barber has been a total blessing in our lives. I have multiple dogs that go to Chris and his awesome staff for grooming. He has been a detrimental part of keeping our dogs healthy as well. He checks there bodys for anything unusual and always advises us if he finds something. One of my dogs is a 90lb boxer who has special needs. He is so kind and gentle with her. He has convenient drop off hours of 7am to 9 am and always calls immediately when the dogs are done. His pricing is more than fair as well. Cathy Ju, I think it is shameful to bash such a wonderful small business owner who has done so much for the community and keeps on giving to our wonderful fur babies. You should be mad at yourself for not listening to the dropoff times and trying to bring your dogs in at closing time when cleanup from the day is being done. That is your own fault and your poor review only reflects the type of shallow person you are!Chris and team keep up the absolutely wonderful job and thank you for making my 3 furbabies look and feel great today and everytime they come to see you!! 😊Micky J.

As soon as I walked in, it has that horrible smell, which I was sick to my stomach. It look so ghetto and small, which they should remodel their place. On top of that, why is there a strict drop off time via 7am-9am?! Heck with that! I rather go somewhere else (i.e. petsmart) that has a professional and pleasant environment than this place and drop my dog off at my own time. This place deserve no star!
