We love staying at the Home Hotel in Lava! We’ve been doing it annually for my boyfriend’s birthday for several years now, and we are never disappointed. We usually stay in the artist rooms on the second floor of the check-in building, but this time we stayed in one of the front rooms, number 102, and it was fantastic! Having the soaking tub in the open space bathroom was much nicer than having it closed in behind a door, like in some of the other rooms.Plus every year we stay here I let the office know that it’s a special occasion and they always make sure to put a card in the room for him and sometimes a candy bar! The staff is so nice.

Wonderful, cozy hotel that is close to Lava Hot springs and local eats. Coffee and tea readily available all the time. The tub was huge fits 2 with no issues and is tappped into local hot springs so is almost like a spa experience in your hotel room. Tracey at the front desk was so kind and informative about the area, if we ever head that way I would look forward to spending an evening or two at this lovely hotel!Nearby activities: Hot lava springs only 8 dollars for the day in one of 5 springs that range from 200-112 degreesWalkability: Within a quarter of a mile of over 4 restaurants, or Hot lava springs

We recently stayed in room 443 at Home Hotel Lava Hot Springs, and our experience was fantastic! We parked on main Street because our room didn't have a reserved parking spot like some of the rooms not connected to the main building. That wasn't a problem. The room was upstairs in the main hotel, it was clean and comfortable, providing a cozy atmosphere for our stay. The room has a queen bed, mini fridge and mineral springs soaking tub.The hotel lobby includes a microwave, free coffee and tea. The place was quiet we couldn't hear the other guests. It was nice. One of the highlights was the convenient location, just a few minute walk from the hot springs. This made our trip even more enjoyable, as we could easily access this relaxing amenity. The hotel is across the street from a popular restaurant that we didn't go to.The overall service and hospitality of the hotel staff were commendable, adding to the positive experience. We highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a pleasant and convenient stay.

We stayed at two different hotels in Lava HS at the beginning and end of a road trip in October. I’d give both of them 5 stars. Maybe 5.5 for this one- Room 148 inside the main building. Super comfortable king bed, mini fridge and microwave, table & chairs. Didn’t wind up using the huge spa tub because the public hot pools were so close by, but it was inviting and clean. Good coffee; sweet staff.

We have stayed in an economy room and now a King with a soaker tub. The king is definitely roomier but if you plan to not spend a lot of time in your room the economy room is just as great. The Home hotel offers more parking options than most of the hotels around. It is right in the heart of town and therefore you can easily walk anywhere you need/want to go. Definitely recommend 👌🏻Walkability: I would say the Home Hotel is in the perfect location to enjoy an easy walk through the town. We have stayed here twice and would stay here again.

Very clean we stayed in room 144 right on main Street. It reminded me of , a 1950s hotel. Room keys and everything. Very tiny but nice if you don't plan on staying in and just want the basics. The thing I absolutely loved was the personal jetted hot tubs. They have the hot mineral water and the cold water is City water. You can fit two people in these comfortably. The staff was awesome.Nearby activities: Literally next to you is the Hot Springs and River, plus restaurants and shops.Walkability: You can walk anywhere in there town it's awesome.Food & drinks: Great food nearby, and coffee and ice cream shops. Great bars nearby also where you can sing karaoke play outdoor games and sit on the patio.

Very nicely maintained in a wonderful location. Loved the indoor and outside soaking pools. Will definitely be back!Nearby activities: Everything is within walking distance, and it's close to multiple restaurants, shopping, fun exploring, and, of course, it's the closest and nicest place to stay near the springs 😊

Great little spot for a short stay, and really well located. We are a family of 4, and stayed her en route from Boise to Jackson Hole. We had a room with 2 doubles, a large bath and little fridge - it wasn't overly modern but it was everything we needed. Parking was easy and it was very quiet at night. Restaurants are seconds away, as are the hot springs. Easy check in and no issues at all.Nearby activities: Hot springs, swimming pool and slides, river float, hiking bars and restaurants - all close by.Walkability: Lava is a small town so almost anywhere would be walkable but the hotel is very central to everything

I stayed with my daughter in this cute little old hotel built in 1918. The hotel is old, but very clean and maintain. Renovated rooms are nice do not stay in one of their economy room. Spend the extra money to stay in one of the renovated rooms. There economy rooms are terrible. I booked through a third-party company and they put me on an economy rooms. I paid the extra money for an upgrade. It was worth it!I loved the location and the staff was very friendly and helpful.Rooms: Rooms are very clean. It has a nice big tub in the room.Nearby activities: All the activities are nearby museums, hot lava pools, the water park.Safety: I traveled alone with my daughter and felt very safe.Walkability: Hotels in a great location nearby the lava hot pools and the water park.Food & drinks: All the restaurants are within walking distance.

We have stayed here twice.2021 we stayed in the main building and the room was awesome! nice giant jetted tub filled with water from the natural springs, no need to visit the hot springs with the crowds, could relax in our own room in the giant tub. Loved the room, bed was comfortable. Nice TV and the bldg was quiet.stayed again in 2022 and had a different experience, had a room outside the main building and it was awful. TV didn't work, room was small and could hear everyone walking by our door.word of advice, pay the extra money to stay in the main building.first visit staying in the main building...5 stars for sure. One star review for the stay in 2022 in the out building. Awful!!

BED BUGS!!! What a horrible experience. Walking in I was not greeted but told "you need to hold on im on the phone" in a pretty rude tone of voice. Upon entering the room everything looked fine to myself and my fiance and we unloaded our bags and got settled for a few minutes got a change of clothes and went out on the town belt before we did our ac unit was stomped on or something and made a very loud noise. When we arrived back to the room with our dinner and some groceries along with new clothing that we had sat on the bed out of the bags we pulled away the covers to find a the remnants of a bed bug and also a blood stain in the sheets ( our total time in the room was about 25 minutes at this point) we tried calling the manager and owner and got an answer eventually and we asked for a refund as we will not stay where bed bugs are a thing and somebody's blood has been on the sheets and as a precaution we took the room keys and locked the door so we would not get scammed into paying for a room we did not sleep in ( we thankfully got much nicer and more spacious room at another location for less than a quarter of the price) the lady on the phone seemed like she was going to try to make us pay anyway and told us to "just leave the keys there" . While we talked with some locals they told us that we wouldn't likely be able to get a refund because the manager was not going to show up until well after checkout so we would be billed for the room. We had to throw away our groceries and dinner as we had to play it safe incase bugs or their eggs may have gotten on everything. Over all just a horrible experience and would highly recommend not staying at this place. also way way too expensive for the accommodationsFood & drinks: The drinks in the fridge were priced at 2 dollars for a can of coke ive payed withing the last year for drinks at a Hilton for 50 cents a piece

This is a great little hotel. My wife and I were wanting to plan a quiet getaway for our wedding anniversary, and this hotel checked all the boxes! We love the old-time feel of the building, it has a lot of history behind it. The rooms with 2 person tubs are wonderful (though perhaps a little small). At night, you can hear some trains go so it was a little noisy but we still slept fine.In addition, the managers and staff were super friendly and helpful. I would love to come back another time.Nearby activities: The hot pools, restaurants, and the local museum.Walkability: It's is very easy to walk to the other stores in the downtown area, especially in the summer.Food & drinks: The hotel provides a few snacks like chocolate, sparkling cider, bottles water and soda for an additional fee.
