We booked the river float only, and so cannot speak on the Inn accommodations. There is construction going on now, which would be a bummer if staying there. We booked a morning float (approx 9 am). It took us about 2.5 hours total once in the water, with some drifting and some paddling. I would guess the depth we floated ranged from 6 inches to 5-6 feet. There were several places we had to get out and pull the float, but this was part of the fun and the float is sturdy which makes it relatively easy to jump in and out. The water is cold, but refreshing. The scenery is gorgeous! For wildlife, we saw 4 moose to include a mother and her calf, bald eagle, osprey, fish, white pelicans, river otter and countless other waterfowl. There was no bathroom open right by the raft rental at 9am. We were directed to the hotel but felt a little odd in our "river clothes" walking through the hotel lobby. All in all, it was a great day and my favorite activity thus far on our trip! We had a party of 5 of all ages and we all enjoyed it. There was plenty of room in the raft for the 5 of us and our belongings. I was ready to be taken back up river and float x 2!

Oh my heck was it just lovely!!! The staff was absolutely amazing!!! Jamar and Josh were just great!!! They treated us with so much respect!!! The office girls were just so kind to us!!! The river is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking!!! We even saw moose!!!!!!! After we floated we came back for the e-bikes and they were so easy to understand and ride!!! The bikes were only $39 for 2 hours!!! I 100% recommend this place everything about it was absolutely perfect! We rented a canoe for only $160!!! They provided the canoe, life jackets, paddles, the shuttle service up, and even took care of the boats for us after we got back!!!

The river is beautiful. There's nothing like it. However, they lie. I was told this is a two hour float . BEWARE... IT IS NOT. it's a 4 to 5 hour float. It's long and hot.I think macks inn should be real about the length of the today. If you're there with your children to not take this trip.

With the beautiful sceneries in front and behind its difficult to say anything negative. We chose a day known to gave wind and rain yet dispute nature's desire to slow us it was the most grandiose experience of my short time in idaho.Leaving your vehicles with no worry of back tracking was a great deal of saved time. Money well spent. We had a canoe at the rate of 150. They transport you to the big springs float headed back to macks inn. It was greatly convenient to have the ride.If ever I came without my own flotation device I'd most definitely come back to utilize the services provided by this great company.

First time camping here but will definitely go here again. Loved the feel of the Campground and the staff were pleasant. My only negative were the bathrooms. Some of the people in our group were tenting and use of the bathrooms was horrible. Definitely need to have more. We had to accommodate them in our RV.

The location is lovely, right on the river, but you can hear traffic all night. Plenty of decent food options on-site and nearby. Easy access to Yellowstone. The condition of the cabins seems poor for the price. The foundation of our cabin was sagging so low that I could see the grass outside simply by glancing between the wall and the floor. A rock retaining wall collapsed and hit the bumper of a car while we were there.

We rented a couple of tandem kayaks. The reservations and shuttle were great, but after that it kinda feel apart. They didn't offer any instruction on kayak use, didn't recommend how to spread out weight of passengers ( which was an issue with two large adults in one kayak that kept bottoming out in the shallow parts of the river), and there was no one to recieve us and help us with the kayaks at the end. We weren't even sure we were at the right place. They just said to dock at the Marriott, but there was no signage or indication of the company outside the building or the name Marriott on the building. After about five minutes someone finally came out. Other than that the river was lovely. Don't forget but spray though, the mosquitos were terrible!!!

Our group of 15 had a fantastic time floating on the River. We saw moose, beavers, and various birds. It took us about 3 hours in total, but at the very end a thunder storm kicked up and we had to exit the river quickly when lightning struck close enough to feel the heat. Although the exit spot was in view, we called to let them and they came to get us right away. We would definitely do this trip again, though I might leave earlier in the day as thunder storms seem common after 3pm.

This place is amazing!! It is exactly what I wanted in my stay. Rustic and cozy:) The boats do take a while but the float is defiantly worth it, I have done it so many times with them and they work as fast as they can to help me. The pizza at the parlor is so good, and the play house shows are hilarious! I am defiantly going to make time to come back again, I feel like they have everything!

We rented a raft and floated the Henry's fork. It was beautiful and so much fun. The float took about 3 hours. We went with 4 adults and 5 little kids (ages 3 -7). Everyone had a blast. The ice cream parlor was delicious. I am coming back next summer.

Robin and her husband really helped me out when I got sick on a hiking trip- picked me up and everything. Then I stayed in a cute room near a river that had everything to help me get better. Wonderful people! And it looks like there are all kinds of cool things to do around here and good food. You should stay at this locally owned business!

Highly recommend. Very fun! Rented a raft for 7 people and took about 3 hours to float down river. They were a little behind schedule but we made it happen. And we came across four Moose which was awesome!

Their canoe rental used to be 40 dollars for a canoe. This included a shuttle to the nearby boat drop-off. It was a very nice 90 minute to 2 hour canoe trip. It was a nice way to spend a morning or afternoon. They now charge 80 dollars for a canoe. This seems excessive, thus the negative review. I visit Island Park every year, and always look forward to a canoe outing. Forty dollars was a little pricey, but still worth it. It's too bad they don't keep the prices reasonable so families on a budget can still enjoy the beauty the area has to offer. I'm disappointed with Mack's Inn. It's also too bad they sold to Marriott. They used to be an Island Park icon and tradition. Now they are indistinguishable from the pervasive commercialization and greed that has been slowly metastasizing and spreading throughout the area.

We rented two canoes for the river adventure. We were mislead in how long the shuttle trip would take so payed for Mack's inn to shuttle us when we could easily have shuttled ourselves. The paddles for the canoes turned our hands grey from the bare aluminum and we had a hard time getting them clean. The river trip was beautiful. We saw several eagles and a moose with two caves. Our trip took about 3 hours with a number of stops to look at wildlife and eat lunch. I'd give the trip 5 stars but the outfitter only 3 stars for the misleading information and the cheap paddles.

Was disappointed from the moment I arrived. When we got to our rv spot the place was dirty and the picnic table was broken. There was a small sad fire ring which I reinforced. The laundry/restroom building was no better. Most of the machines were out of order and the waiting area had old machines lying on there side with sitting on them. The men's room had 1 working toilet and the urinal in pieces. The showers work off of quarters, but the lettering is faded so you can't read how much it costs. With holes in the ceiling. Not sure what's going on, however looks like lots of planned repairs but only half completed jobs. We stayed their for 1 week and nothing was being addressed.

This part of the river is absolutely gorgeous! We were lucky to only wait one hour for an evening float on a Saturday night (1 week ago). We saw 4 moose, a few river otter, and breathtaking scenery. We took our time and float almost the entire way in the inflatable raft, very comfortably with 2 adults and 3 kids. I will agree with the previous posts about wait time and a somewhat disorganized system. We attempted to float on 2 different days later in the week- both times a 2 to 3 hour wait time although vans parked, tons of rafts, kayaks, canoes etc sitting on the beach and with 45 minutes of opening. Mack's Inn can certainly run their business as they want, but it seems like many simple things can be done to make it a more efficient company- which in turn would be more profitable and have many happy repeat customers. My suggestions from having done numerous floats and rafting trips at other outfits-1) Have some reservable spots and some first come first serve.2) Have employees start hauling equipment up river 2 hours before opening- start shuttling customers and getting them on the water immediately at opening, then the rest of the day rent out and shuttle as equipment come in.3) The shuttles should never be sitting- get loaded and up river. I saw loaded vans sit 45 minutes multiple times for no apparent reason.4) Employees should be hustling... and there should be a lead employee giving direction and handling issues.Overall we really enjoyed our overnight stay at the rv park, and the float we were able to get on. We knew to bring our patience, as we had read numerous reviews prior to coming. The prices are great, the river is fabulous and the people were friendly. With just a few changes, this could be an amazing place to recommend to friends and family 😍

We scheduled a raft rental like we have every time we come up here about every 6 years. They told us to be there between 1 and 1:30. We waited for almost 2 hours before they got us on the river. We watched them put the group before us equipment on the of the trailer at least 4 times. We ended up loading our own rafts on the trailer to get it done faster and then the made us drive our entire party to the launch cite instead of them shuttling us there. We have never had an issue before but I think next time we will bring our own tubes and canoes next time.

We rented a canoe and kayak and they were in great shape, well taken care of. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would reccomend using them if you want to get on the river.

This place is a DUMP! We reserved a cabin @ Macks Inn for our annual trip to West Yellowstone, we showed up to find out that the cabin had not been cleaned for who knows how long? The cabin was infested with spiders, cob webs, and the floors were dirty with Arby's wrappers under the bed. The beds were terrible, and I had to check out after our first night, as I have a fractured vertebra, and need a somewhat comfortable bed. We asked the office if it was possible to upgrade our cabin to something cleaner, and slightly nicer, we were told that they were booked up. That part was understandable being that it was Labor Day weekend. I talked to the front desk and explained our situation with my back, and asked if it would be possible to check out early, and possibly get a refund for at least 1 of the 3 nights we booked. They told me "NO WAY"! "Absolutely NO Refunds"! I would Strongly advise anyone looking to stay at Macks Inn, to reconsider & find somewhere else to stay! Or bring a tent and stay in the woods, at least you will know the cleanliness of your tent, and be able to find level ground to place it on.

Don't go there planning on having a nice float down the river without paying through the nose. We rented a raft for over $120, and then the wanted to charge $15 per person to take us the where the boats put in. This is pretty ridiculous considering they are take the van that can carry about 9 passages to the drop off because that is what pulls the trailer the raft is on. If someone wants to make some good easy money this summer, I would suggest being a self employed shuttle driver by the bottom of the river. The only reason I am not giving this a 1 star is because the rafts and van are nice and clean.

Fun river trip, very poor service. I'd suggest elsewhere for the boats. We made a reservation for a raft and canoe at 3:30. We arrived 15 mins early as requested. When we got there they were out of all adult lifejackets so they gave me one that was sized for a 5 year old. It was more worthless than none at all. And then we waited for over 45 mins AFTER our reservation time before even leaving for the dropoff location. When we got to where you put the boats in low and behold they forgot our canoe even after confirming before we loaded into the van. The whole place just seems so poorly managaed. It was just a bunch of high school boys that had no direction. Once everything was finally taken care (over an hour after our reserved start time) the river part was quite nice. No thanks to them though, no direction or tips at all for floating.

Mack's Inn, or The Rustic Motel as they are now calling it, is possibly the worst motel I have ever stayed at. It was advertised as being remodeled in 2018, however everything in the room was ancient, there are multiple holes in the walls and ceiling. Sections of the ceiling are heavily stained from water damage and the bathroom is cramped, with holes near the shower and toilet. The parking lot is unpaved, poorly maintained, and unlit. Most of the exterior lights do not work and leave the entire exterior area dark. There is not an onsite office, instead you have to travel across the highway to the new Mariot to talk with anyone, and they act like it is not their responsibility since its not their hotel. The walls are super thin, the room next to ours had a dog that barked the entire night. When we called the office (multiple times) we got an answering machine even though there is supposed to be a 24 hr staff. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, the wifi is slow. Back to the thin walls, the motel is right off of a busy highway and you get to hear vehicles driving all night long. Honestly they call it rustic, but it should be called run down.

Not what we expected... Cabin was in poor condition when we arrived. Windows would not open, so made the cabin very hot.. No fans at all. Some emoyee came speeding into the parking lot and slid out almost taking out my vehicle and my young son who was walking from the park.. We reported him to the office and shortly after he confronted my husband and was very hostile.. Made our experience very unpleasant.. Very unprofessional. Pretty loud with guests at night and highway noise. Won't be staying again...if it wasn't for the fact that I paid 120 bucks for the night we would have left. Don't waste your money on this place.

We had a great time on the river. Tyler the guy helping us out, made it a priority to get our group all outfitted and on the river in a timely fashion. We experienced amazing views and a perfect afternoon. The ice cream afterwords was the final cherry on top.
