Probably the mosyt deceiving hotel I ever stayed in: The outside looks downright scary! Fortunately that is really just facade. The hotel lobby/reception is lovingly renovated. The staff (owner?) was super friendly and helpful! We got a suite with 2 bedrooms and 4 beds for an unbelievable fair price. The rooms were spacious and clean. Lots of charging ports, hot water with decent pressure. This is really the only hotel in Elk City - but I can totally recommend it. Especially nice for anyone starting section 4 of the Idaho BDR!

Anyone who has any complaints about Elk City or the Elk City hotel simply does not belong in small Rocky Mountain towns.The hotel is great for adventurous travelers, hunters, and those who can appreciate the charms of small towns like Elk City.The people are friendly and the rooms, though nostalgic, are very comfortable.We just stayed over a week and felt very much at home.There’s a good grocery store across the street and you’re a short walk from the local Saloon.We can’t wait to comeback.Rooms: Old school yet quite comfortable. I hope they keep them just as they are.Nearby activities: Hunting, fishing, ATV riding, hiking etc.Safety: It’s quiet and you’ll be surrounded by good people.Walkability: Walking distance to the grow every store and restaurants.

This is the one and only place to stay in Elk City so you have no choice.To say that the place is rustic would be an understatement. The efficiency had a stove and a refrigerator. The stove burners were activated by push buttons that looked like it came from the 1960s. The toilet would barely flush. The shower stall was made out of sheet metal bent into a shape to form a shower stall. The shower head was one of those super cheap kinds that sprays water everywhere. Given what I know now I would have stayed 50 miles away.When we arrived to check in there was nobody around or available. We sat around and waited for almost an hour before someone showed up to check us in.Do yourself a favor and scratch this one off of the list...If this review was helpful to you please give it a thumbs up.

This motel is one of the best I've stayed in! If you're looking for plush and extravagance this isn't for you, if you're looking for a nice clean (very clean) place to stay this is it! Bed was comfy, the fridge was not one of those mini fridges you cant even fit your water in, it was a nice big dryer size! Shower was tiny but oh man the water pressure is amazing!! The people are very nice and go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable. There was even a welcome note with a prayer on it which I loved! I would definitely stay there again!!! And the gifts shop has a nice little section of natural health products!! (One of my obsessions lol)

Only place In town. Internet pictures a bit of a misrepresentation. My travel companion asked if it was photo-shopped. Building has survived one to many winters. Room was very small. Bathroom will only hold one person at a time. Only a double bed. Anything bigger and you couldn't open the door. Haven't slept with spouse in double in 25 years. It was a bit snug. Worst was NO hot water. NO SHOWER. Ugh! Office closed. Metal shower very small and rusted. Not the most inviting anyway. Big group next door. Partied in the parking lot way past what should be quiet hours. Positive - It was clean. Cooled off at night so fan was sufficient to cool room.

An older Motel. But the rooms are nice. And they were clean. Comfortable bed. Reasonably priced. The gift shop has a lot of neat stuff for the tourist.

Your reviews must have been from family members of the owners. No airconditoner 2 cable channels and wifi is almost nonexistent. The older couple running the place during the summer are very nice..God Bless them but this is hotel you should avoid

An absolutely amazing and beautiful area to visit. The hotel staff really takes care of you. We had an issue with the shower head, and they were right on it and had it fixed in no time. Wonderful place to stay.

Side trip after visit to Snake River in mid September, 2016. Owner very accommodating for late arrival. Clean roomy room with comfortable bed. You are nearer to "The"here, so print, carry, or buy maps or have a will, because the exploring is wonderful! No smart phone to call for help! South fork road very curvy, will return on harley and stay at Elk City Hotel again!

Place was clean, everyone was friendly. WIFI was a little difficult. No cell phones worked so when WIFI was intermittent, made for hard time to communicate.
