It was highly recommended that this was the place for Hawaiian shaved ice. Definitely did not disappoint. My first challenge was how to eat it properly. Do not to attack the base because it eventually will collapse in and some of the good part will fall on the ground for the chickens and the birds to check out. I recommend that you start from the top and work your way to the bottom. I was ready to take the ice and just melt it in my water bottle until I found the incredible macadamia ice cream that was holding up the entire structure. Definitely an island delicacy not to be messed!

JoJo's had some of our favorite shave ice on our trip to Hawaii (we visited both Maui and Kauai). They make their own syrups with real fruit, and you can really tell the difference.We tried their #1 top seller which is the Tropical Breeze. It features guava, lilikoi and mango over macadamia nut ice cream, and topped with homemade haupia cream. We got the smaller size, da kine, which was still really big and perfect for sharing with another person!The flavors were excellent, the texture was dreamy, and it was an absolutely refreshing afternoon treat on a very hot day. I still crave this shave ice and hope to enjoy it again in the future on another visit to this beautiful island!

We stopped here on our way home from the beach! This place was delicious and had great reviews.The ice cream at the bottom of the shaved ice was a great treat. These were also massive and you definitely got your moneys worth! There was a line out the door when we got there and the staff was very fast and friendly.

We checked out Jojos shaved ice here in Kauai. Loved the homemade syrups. They aren't too sweet. $9 for a small. Serving sizes are big.

This place gets recommended quite a bit- likely because there are several and because it's been around for years! I will say that we did enjoy it, but it wasn't the best we've ever had. They almost make the ice too tall, so all of the flavors tend to move to the bottom and the top is left icy and not very flavorful. The texture of the ice is pretty soft, but still has a little crunch left. The syrups they use are good but can get annoying as you get toward the bottom of your bowl.I would say they are slightly above average! But after tasting Wailua Shave Ice today, I can confidently say that JoJo's, while good, is certainly not the best on the island!

The best shaved ice on the island. They have a wide range of flavors all using their own in-house syrups. Shave ices are served with a layer of ice cream on the bottom making for a more ‘decadent’ treat. Excellent service with friendly staff. Im excited to visit again.Kid-friendliness: Great family destination. Think of it like your local ice cream shop but Hawaiian style.

It was great to visit JoJo's 25 years after our first visit on our honeymoon. The shave ice was as delicious as we remembered. I got the old school rainbow, which is served over vanilla ice cream. I love getting to the bottom and eating the ice cream shave ice combination!JoJo’s is a must visit after a long day hiking in Waimea Canyon (or a long day of laying on the beach!)

This place is the bomb! The tropical breeze (#2) was incredible. I got up sold with a guava gel on top. This was awesome. Getting to the bottom there was the nice surprise of a scoop of macadamia nut ice cream. Yum!

Stopped by on our way back from Waimea State Park with the kiddos. Never been to JoJo's (or the island) before. Lots of ice and enjoyed the flavors of syrup we ordered . We really liked the way they make the syrups and that they give back to youth camps.

First time ever eating this kind of Hawaian desert and i like it. Item #2, Tropical Breeze was not bad at all. It was made in combination of ice and various syrups. And, i did not feel it was too sweet.

Our trip consisted of shave ice at least once a day for all ten days. Both on Kauai and Oahu. JoJo’s blows everything out of the water. Easily the best shave ice. Don’t be afraid to try the Li Hing Mui sauce. Definitely a personal favorite.

Great shave ice joint! Definitely in the top 3 on the island, but the best prices by far. If you use the coupon from the Kauai Coupon Book you can get free mac nut ice cream and cream topping (must buy 2).The size of these things are incredible. We only got the regular size. I’ll be honest I would have gotten the bigger one but I don’t posses the dexterity required to eat one of these without dumping it all over myself (#lifegoals).The employees were friendly and helpful and made the experience good. Delicious treat especially after a hot day.

We have been to JoJo's twice in 3 days, so good!They have 16 flavors, something for every taste bud.The first time we hade the Berry Berry with their home made Macadamia Nut Ice Cream, and the Coconut Pineapple also with the Macadamia Nut Ice Cream.The second visit, we had the Root Beer Float with there home made Vanilla Ice Cream and the Guava, lychee, passion fruit with the Macadamia Nut Ice Cream.A great treat at any time of the day, worth the stop!

JoJo's is a must stop for a real shaved ice if you are in Waimea. They have 17, yes 17, different yummo flavor options. There are fruity options, chocolate options, even a root beer float shaved ice! The ice cream in the bottom is amazing and I believe made onsire - two flavors, Macadamia Nut and Vanilla. There is covered seating outside so you can enjoy your treat immediately. There are two sizes big and bigger. Very fun place!

It's just as good, if not better, than everyone suggested! Huge portions, super delicious flavors!! I visited both locations on my trip and preferred this one. The lines were shorter and the area of town was more laid back, but both are worth the wait if there is a line! You get a generous scoop of creamy macadamia nut ice cream in the center, then a giant pile of shaved ice on top where you get to pick your flavors, or order one of the specials listed. I got #2, Tropical Breeze, except changed out the mango for papaya. It was heavenly! Then they top the whole thing with what I'm guessing is a creamy coconut milk? (Edit: i just read the menu, duh. Haha its Haupia, which it turns out is a coconut-milk bases hawaiian dessert!) I would HIGHLY recommend this place, and this combo!!!6

Have had several shave ice in my time in Hawaii and JoJo's tops the list. Service was great and they made perfectly formed shave ice cups. Fantastic options to choose from or you can build your own. Must have cream on top to finish it. Malona is a must have flavor. But can't go wrong with any option. A nice way to finish a visit to Waimea Canyon.
