My husband and I are wine lovers and enjoy tasting wines that are unique. This place was super unique and fit the bill of what we were looking for on the island. Truly a great set of staff. We enjoyed several hours of conversation, and fell for the tea infusion wine. We enjoyed ourselves and purchased several bottles to ship home. Definitely agree with previous reviews that the red wine Pinot noir is nothing to compare to California or Europe, but found the strong players to be the guava infused/tea infused. Would definitely come again if in the area.

I enjoyed everything from the tasting. They are making delicious drinks with local and unique ingredients. Worth checking out if you are on big island!

Fun stop after our morning hike. They have a mix of traditional wines and a few unique ones, such as the mac nut honey wine. Not a large food selection.Overall would recommend as a nice rest stop during your visit to Volcano.

A fun stop for the novelty of going to one of the only wineries in Hawaii, and the southernmost one in the US. Nice atmosphere! Friendly staff. Unfortunately we weren’t very impressed with the wine itself. Not a bad way to unwind after a hike in HI Volcanoes NP.

Came with a tour group - Leilani Tours. Wine tasting was great. Hawaiian Guava Grape & Volcano Blush were m6 favorites. Brought a bottle home. Gift shop to pick up goodies or your favorite wines from the tasting. We also brought back some tea, which was part of the tasting. The wine tasting employee was friendly and enjoys his job.Thank you Volcano Winery.

A bit dear, but considering what goes into the wines and teas and such here, the prices make sense. I decided to take home a bottle of the amazing estate-grown, tea-infused mead, made with honey from the winery’s own hives, and a small bag of the said tea, to be brewed later at home.Great atmosphere, too, at this small family-run business.

My family recently visited the Big Island from Oahu and I hesitated adding this to my list since I have two younger boys. However from the moment I inquired about a tour I knew it would be a fun add on. The staff is incredible, Ryan was our tour guide and we ended up being the only group so it was very “VIP”.We learned some interesting facts, enjoyed some amazing wines and teas. The bacon/cranberry cheese was a hit as well. With each wine the staff took time to explain wine pairings and we enjoyed story time, I never once felt rushed out in a hurry.Additionally I shipped wine and we had some Fed Ex mix ups, once again the staff followed up with me for over a week ensuring the wine made it safely to its destination. Thanks for a unique experience!

We went as a group of 9 without a reservation as soon as they open at around 9 or 10 in the morning and although over the phone there were no accommodations available they were able to squeeze us in thankfully because it is a little bit of a drive. Everything was excellent we a did the tour for 9 people and we were served very well. I would be careful with the wine though as you are in a higher altitude it seemed as though several people in our party might’ve been getting a little bit tipsy by just tasting everything haha. But we all did have a great time and lots of fun.

A few unique wines, Volcano Red, among them. Cream cheese plates an interesting knoshing choice. Inattentive, impersonal service professionals during tastings.

Winery with some estate pinots and then mostly fruit wine blends which are either on the sweeter or tarter ends. There are cheese plate offerings but it can run out depending on when you arrive. They do both wine (18) and tea (6) tastings. Bottles on sale are decently priced (~25). Overall its a good experience!

Quaint little winery with nice, knowledgeable staff. Walked right in outta curiosity and we ended up doing a tasting! Pours came in cute logo-etched glasses while we stood at a long, high table. There were goodies all around us for sale, from salts and stoppers to local photography and jewelry! We purchased quite a few bottles of wine, which with help from staff we were able to take some and have the rest shipped to two locations. Excited to try with food, for cooking, and to come again some day!!

Cute little winery not far from Volcanoes National Park. Only cheese and crackers for food. The wine is great and staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to explaining the wines. Seating is outside. There are tables to stand at inside. I went around 430p on a Friday and it wasn't too busy.

This is the perfect place to stop after a day in the National Park. We liked every wine we tried and brought back a bottle of the macadamia nut honey wine which was our favorite, though the tea-infused wine was a close second!

Their Pinot noir may be the worst wine I’ve ever drank. I’m pretty sure they buy the juice from cali for this one, as opposed to the pricier estate grown, but I’m absolutely shocked they couldn’t do more than they did with it.

This was my second time visiting and I love it up here! Drove from Hilo town and once out the car, the atmosphere is calming and weather cool. Our host was very knowledgeable in their wines. You stand at a table and he pours the wine and tells its story. I believe you’re able to order cheese and crackers and make reservations. I would not recommend the packaged cookies they sell - expensive and not yummy. We ended up purchasing some bottles and while waiting for them to package them, Mom and I sat outside and finished eating our breakfast okazuya left overs.Upon arriving home on Oahu, the bottles made it safely - very robust packaging!

Michelle and I had a tea tasting…in their tea/grape fields behind their building. Although the weather was misty - meaning less view of Mauna Loa etc - the tasting itself was wonderful. Several infusions of white and black teas with knowledgeable discourse on their operation and teas around the world. Topped it off with tea infused mead which was very tasty. Big thanks to Ryan from Volcano Winery for his insights and leading the tasting.

We stumbled across the winery while visiting the volcano so we did not have an appointment but were welcomed warmly and the staff took care of us like we were the only customers there even though there were several groups there. Thank you so much for the great wine tasting, history and knowledge and the cheese platter. Yum!!!!! Great place to visit and have some good wine tasting (some unique flavors too) and good conversation with the friendly staff. :)

My family and I were visiting the Big Island for the first time to spend Christmas with my Dad. We ended up making a reservation at Volcano Winery so we can experience the wine tasting and I will say, I'm glad we did. Not only is the location very quiet and relaxing, the staff here were super friendly and treated everyone like ohana. We ended up trying every one of their wine on inventory which was awesome, and we loved it so much that we purchased some to take back to my Dad's house and purchase several bottles to be shipped back to our house in Las Vegas. The shipping was flawless and I was thoroughly amazed how they packed the wine bottles in the box to prevent damage. If you're visiting the Big Island, definitely make a reservation to try their wine tasting. Or, just swing by to purchase a bottle or two and take in the scenery. This is definitely a good stop after a day's trip to Kilauea. Highly recommend!

I don’t usually write reviews but I do feel like this review needs to be written. Although the concept of grapes grown on volcanic soil is really interesting and that draws you in, We did a vineyard tour and wine tasting and we found some things to be aware of before spending your money here:They have 5 wines and two meads. All 5 wines are made with California grapes with local fruit added in. So locally made, not locally grown. We did not enjoy the taste.Only the meads are locally grown and made, they’re also not very good. Our tour guide was only 20 so he was trying to teach us about wines that he wasn’t legally allowed to taste for himself. And I’m sure if he was allowed to taste them he wouldn’t like them either. He was also very unprofessional during our tour, pointing out lots of negatives and flaws about the property and company and swearing is a huge part of his vocabulary.Once a year they do bottle their own grapes but they don’t make much of it and they didn’t have any for us to taste, maybe that wine would have been good.If you’re someone who enjoys and appreciate good wine then I would skip this place for sure.

Wines are on the pricey side but very innovative. The wine tasting is highly recommended. You can also share a tasting. We really liked the Volcano Red and the Volcano Blush 🍷

Absolutely worth stopping here for a tasting or just a bottle or case. FYI they ship bottles and cases to the US mainland. Just ask about fees and discounts for 1/2 case or full case. We tried the Volcano blush which was made with white grapes and the color comes from the Jaboticaba berry (related to açaí berry). We bought a case to ship back home. The staff is super friendly and able to any all questions and provide recommendations and added details about their wines.

This winery is a must. The service is impeccable... Alicia was an expert on the wines and the island. If you’re not a fan of the wines... try the mead. It’s amazing. My husband and I were happy to find this little gem nestled away. It was the perfect serene ending to a busy day hiking around the national park. I highly recommend.

If going to Volcano National Park worth swinging by! Google maps takes you through a neighborhood then to the winery. Friendly service, good wine but not exceptional but very cool location. Did the cheese plate, wine tasting and tea tasting!

Awesome place the wine is great. Buy a bottle sit out back and drink. You can also do the wine tasting. If you are looking at certain bottles they will give you a little taste.

Not a lot of legs on these wines. They lean heavy on the sweet side if that's your type of wine. But the meads are unique and worth a taste especially the black tea infused honey mead.

Lovely experience today visiting Volcano Winery with my party for some tastings. We are all wine enthusiast from Washington State and we’re anxious to try another states variety. Volcano give us that! They are heavy on the sweat end so may not be your pallet of choice if your a dry and bold wine drinker. I will say they were VERY unique and I got to try some things I’ve yet to try like the tea wine. All I tasted was very enjoyable. If you’re on the big island I would recommend stoping by and mingling with the Friendly associates to learn about their wine.

This was good expeirance. We just got there as it started to rain and mist for the evening. The flight was awesome (even with a couple miaaing) Interesting and yummy tastes like nowhere else, they really enjoy playing with flavor. The art they have for sale is out of this world. Only 4 out of 5 cause the server helping us out was a little slow for my taste. I've never found myself standing around with nothing to do at a wine tasting before.
