Such a lovely concept, order food inside and eat outdoors where they have ample shady and cool dining areas around their beautiful property. The girls were extremely friendly and helpful, answering my questions. I ordered the Lava Shrimp, which was ready in 5 minutes. Shrimp was pretty good, 7.5/10 for spiciness. I enjoyed the green salad that had finely shredded purple cabbage with a homemade lilikoi dressing. However, the sauce that was put on the rice was so greasy that I couldn't eat it. Too bad, everything else was great, but that ruined it for me. I will definitely be back to try something else on the menu, not giving up on this place yet!

I ordered the shrimp sampler because I didn't know which one was the best. After eating, it turned out to be a giant failure because I couldn't pick a 'best', they were all equally fantastic. I guess what I'm trying to say is, order the shrimp sampler. The sauces are amazing. I also had a fruit smoothie which was excellent. They have a beautiful shaded seating area.

Great ambience and even better food. I got Lava Shrimp and portion was huge. The flavor was amazing. I will definitely stop here again if possible. Come before 3pm (their closing time) on your way to the volcano national park.Also, get their homemade kombucha. So good.

The outdoor cafe was pleasant and clean and personnel were nice. We were starving when we arrived. We three ordered the 2 combo and garlic shrimp dishes, so no reviews of steak nor açaí bowls will be given here. The food was very disappointing. Very. Usually food tastes even better when starving but it was so mediocre I am so surprised this place got 4.8. The lemon pepper tasted like artificial lemon flavoring, the garlic shrimp was way overly salted and the lava shrimp’s spicy flavor was not spicy nor in harmony with the shrimp. It was kind of like a dry Indian curry powder but not spicy and not a good flavor. All shrimps were overly salted and tasted reminiscent of what I would get as prepackaged frozen garlic shrimp I would get like at Costco. It’s not terrible but not great and definitely not what I was expecting for a nearly 5star place. I could make it better using real ingredients, not artificial products. I’ve eaten at plenty of great food trucks so let’s not discount its quality just because it is a food truck. The saving grace was the fresh salad. It was really fresh and the passion fruit dressing was very decent. I could even taste a hint of their fragrant honey in it. Also for this terrible quality it was very expensive, see posted menu. $24 for my 12 medium mediocre not fresh shrimps….☹️. My friend who at the garlic one didn’t digest it well later in evening…not poisoned or anything, just indigestion.The salad might be considered healthy. But the overly salted, oil drenched shrimp can not be categorized as healthy.

Exceptional local stop. Not sure why it’s categorized as a health food restaurant? Very tasty plates, we had the mixed shrimp, pork, an açaí bowl and a tropical smoothie. Everything was delicious and fresh, served with rice and salad. You order in the little house, pickup from the food truck, and can sit at picnic tables (fanciest picnics tables I’ve ever seen with granite!). Major improvement as a real sustenance option over the bakery across the street. Came back a second time and fell in love all over again!

Wow! The lemon pepper shrimp is SO good!! We got the shrimp sampler platter and loved them all, each sauce has sooo so much flavor! The lemon pepper is my absolute favorite! Never had shrimp like this before, now it’s all I can think about!Kid-friendliness: Lots of room to run around

We planned on eating at the bakery across the street but the line was long so we came here and it ended up being a super pleasant surprise! In hindsight I think we would’ve gone there first checking the menu, but we had their garlic and lemon pepper shrimp as well as their steak and I would not hesitate to go again! Awesome food and I rarely review bathrooms but it was so clean and the bamboo was a nice touch.

Their sauces are amazing and food tastes heavenly. We did Shrimp sampler, Pitaya bowl and Tropical Smoothie. They also have open lawn with tables where we can eat our food with lush greenery around.Parking: Their parking is behind their food truck/building.

Amazing flavor from the dishes here. We got the shrimp sampler and the 1/2 surf and turf with lava shrimp, along with the tropical smoothie. My favorite was the lava shrimp but the steak had tons of flavor too. Would highly recommend!

We went to Punaluu Bakery and saw the line and immediately looked for somewhere else we could grab lunch.Honestly wasn't expecting much but we were trying to make sure we ate before Volcanos Park so we ordered the Sampler plate and it was so delicious. I will think about this shrimp forever. Salad was good too and seating area was so nice!

I'm from New York City, and it's been hard to find really good food in Hawaii. Lucky, we came across this food truck in the middle of nowhere. They serve Steak, shrimps, and pork chops, New York style. We had the shrimps and the steak. All of it was cooked to perfection (medium was my choice). The shrimps come in 3 flavors: garlic shrimp, lava, and lemon pepper. The first two have a hint of Indian seasoning and taste exquisite. This is an absolute must stop, right across from the famous Punalu'u masala donut shop (also, a must for their really good stuffed donut (i chose guava and it's really good). They have a bathroom and picnic tables outside

Here’s what you need to know: Absolutely fantastic food and terrific outdoor setup and charming place. Food takes a while to arrive but so worth the wait. Best açaí and Pitayabowl I’ve ever had. Ever! Amazing and distinct flavors of shrimp. Very Reasonable pricing for Hawaii.I would not say warm, but Friendly enough service. I definitely recommend it.

Loved the pitaya bowl! Loved the smoothie. Their pork chop was tender and moist and their shrimp was great! Both the lava shrimp (a touch spicy for my keiki) and the garlic shrimp were perfect. I loved the sauce that got onto the rice underneath. So delicious! The green salad was so legit too. House made honey vinaigrette. It was a great spot to grab a bite to eat! Fresh and tasty.

You need this! Hands down some of the best shrimp I’ve ever had. And most definitely one of the top eats on the island for me. The garlic shrimp were amazing! Don’t be fooled by this little purple truck; she produces some darn good eats.

So good! Pretty expensive but worth it. Tried the garlic shrimp and lava shrimp and preferred the garlic personally, but they’re both delicious. My only complaint is that they have such short hours, or we would come for dinner every night!

My husband and I stopped here for lunch, and it was absolutely delicious! I got the lava shrimp plate, which was flavorful and had a nice level of spice. To cool down my taste buds, I got the tropical smoothie. All flavors listed were accounted for; it was very refreshing! The lemon wedge also went really well with the rice and the spicy shrimp, and the salad helped make the dish feel not too heavy. Perfect lunch!

Ordered the shrimp platter + extra 4 shrimps (you can choose any of the 3 flavors) and those are yum! Sauce goes perfectly with the rice. Unfortunately pitaya bowl is not available and got the açaí bowl instead - standard good and fresh. Friend got pork chop and the flavor is nice while the meat isn’t too dry. Wish can try out steal next time!

On the way to green sand beach and we found this superb place for quick bites of Shrimp 🍤!Trust me those were lip smacking!We tried lava shrimp, tropical smoothie and pina colada! A must try food truck in this area!Highly recommended 😊

Ordered the pork and lava shrimp 1/2 plate. The portions were huge. Pork was tender and well-seasoned, lava shrimp was super flavorful. There is a nice outdoor seating area with shade and picnic tables. They also have a bathroom for customers. The truck is located pretty far from kona, on the south side, but the food made the drive worth it.

Had lunch with my family coming from the VNP and couldn't find anything to eat at Punalu'u Beach.Everuthing was good, shrimps are tasty and spicy for the lava ones.The acai is delicious.The 2 reasons for not giving 5 stars, most important one it is a bit pricy, even if it is really good.Second, I felt my daughter who ordered a NY steak plate and asked for it as rare as possible. But we have lived in the US for almost 6 years and it is always hard to actually get a steak cooked rare properly. Inevitably, the steak was medium to medium rare because it was a thin one. Still good but be more careful about your customers next time.
