Great quality and helpful service. Staff are willing to help you, answer questions, make suggestions and really make you feel like your business is appreciated. I've purchased several fish and I'm really pleased with the health and variety. These guys know their stuff, it's their passion and it shows. It's worth the time to look around and find some truly beautiful and exotic fish.

Listen.....I really should just give them 1 star, b/c no matter what I do they keep taking more and more of my money 💰🤑.But, really these guys are great everyone is super friendly and they have things you can't get anywhere else on the island. Recently the website hasn't been as updated with current stock (might have just been the gap in between months).Love these guys and will keep going back.

The owner and workers are super friendly and helpful. They have a wide selection of fish, perhaps the most diverse of any local fish store today. And they quarantine their fish very well.This is the best reflection of what fish stores used to be like decades ago. Sadly, what we see today are stores laden with low grade guppies, mollies, angelfish, tiger barbs and neon tetras,...stores that just push the common, commercialized, "classic" products (and occasionally misinform the consumer too). It's ok, if all you want to do is fill your five year old's ten gallon tank, but that's not MastahBettah. MastahBettah has superior quality fish...and the more exotic. These guys do fish. That's all (or maybe that's all I cared about so I was tunnel-visioned and overlooked the puppies lol).I'm not rich by any measure, and if I have to work hard to earn my money...well, my hobby is going to be most enjoyed shopping at this store. I've seen so many fish here that I want because the quality and color are unrivaled, but cannot have because I don't have the tank for them. This is the store that tests my will power, my critical reasoning, and my maturity. And for the record, I'd still populate my kid's tank with fish from MastahBettah because his "classic" fish are colorful and healthy and CHEAPER in most cases.My pics are intended to be a graphic narrative on how to find the front door, bc you almost have to be Indiana Jones to make it there with Google, not to mention the crazy construction. And even if you don't find the exact fish that you're wanting, I guarantee that you will enjoy the experience. I still pop my head into the other spots, but by far, this is my new favorite destination.

Had a great experience here. I was looking for a unicorn/alicorn betta and spoke with the owner, Josh, about it. I ended up using his fish importing services to import a fish from Jakarta, and he brought in a few more white opaque or unicorn type half moon bettas too, to add to the variety in store. I got a sneak peak of the store while it was shut down for one week for a proper quarantine of its new fish. The owner knows his fish and keeps them healthy. A very different experience from a Petco or PetSmart! A Petco employee even recommended I go here for more unique betta fish. Note that they carry other types of fish too, plus Aquatic plants and some aquarium equipment. Pictured are some of the giant bettas, the alicorn betta, and i believe a beautiful ram.

They have gorgeous specimens of betta fish. The space is a bit crowded but, the tanks are all well maintained and labeled. I will definitely be shopping there again soon.

Very nice, healthy, and well organized fish shop. There are tons of variations of species that I cannot find anywhere else. If you truly want a healthy, well priced, local fish/supplies, come to this shop. The crew is very friendly and helpful.

The best aquatic plant and freshwater fish selection in Honolulu. Rare nano fish, African cichlids, big rainbowfish and even monsters like datnoids and peacock bass. A must visit for anyone with an interest in freshwater aquariums. If that wasn't enough, the staff is always upbeat and helpful and the prices are the best in town.

The owner, Josh, is not just knowledgeable about the fish, but also plants and tank issues. I am new to fish tanks and he has been extremely helpful in answering my questions and offering suggestions to make my experience easier. Parking is a bit tricky, but certainly worth it.

Best prices around for fish and plants not commonly found in pet stores. They have a great exchange policy where if you’re unsatisfied with the fish for whatever reason you can return them and get different fish. (Ask them for details.) Me and my family’s go to fish shop!

The shop is a bit hard to find, but totally worth the time! They have lots of fish and aquarium plants I normally don't see at Petco and PetSmart. We got a banana plant and a super cute molly. Will go back for tiger lotus.

The shop is in an alley way so as soon as you see the auto shop turn into the alley way and go down. It'll be on your left. Tight parking. But staff is friendly an knowledgeable. Worth the trip.

They have rare plants you can't find at most places. Got lucky we got a few; my husband is happy. This is one of his favorite places. They get pretty busy, so be patient. The staff are very helpful.

Just happened to stroll in, very interesting fish store and was impressed with their betta fish. Josh was very engaging and helpful and we ended up buying a pair of bettas. Josh was extremely helpful in guiding us in their care and wants to make sure you get healthy fish. Unfortunately a fish got sick and he was a great resource for it's care. Outstanding was his action to replace the fish, and we purchased more items from him. We left his store feeling great.

Best fish store in hawaii and I have been to most of them. Amazing owner, very very healthy fish and always reggae music playing!To the lady who complains about vulgar signs... I recommend you not read everything you see out loud lol then your kids who probably can't read either wouldn't hear

Came here 2 days in a row because not only did they have what I was looking for, the owner/guy working the shop is super nice, honest and his prices are affordable. I got plants and puffers, all healthy. If I ever need anything for my tanks, this will be my first stop. Thank you!

Amazing shop! The owner and employee are nice and funny. They obviously love what they do!Only thing is the parking situation/ location is a bit weird. Was tricky to find the shop and went around the parking lot a couple times. Gotta park in customer spots near the entrance of the parking lot. But that totally doesn’t change the 5 star rating. What a beautiful shop!

Place is brand new and he has a lot of Hawaiian betas and heart. Actively engages with every customer. It has a variety from water dogs , salamanders, betas, kuhli loaches, vampire shrimp, and bigger fish like flowerhorns. Only cons is the store is smaller than most. Active on Instagram follow him!

Love the new shop.. these guys are super cool.. they are adding more products as time goes.. love the range of 🐟 🐠 fish on hand.. ive seen fish i have not seen anywhere else there..cool staff trying to make it in such a competitive market. Check them out ..prices is a plus... it took a minute to find them but was worth it. Im looking forward to my next visit.. deffinetly recommending this place !,
