This is a little thrift store run by the Humane Society. They had a lot of things for the space they had. Mostly household items, electronics and tools a little bit of dog food and a very small selection of clothing. It felt clean and organized and I was surprised by some of the nicer things there.

We adopted this bold little princess recently from The Cherokee Humane Society and our experience was nothing but amazing. Beth and Dina both were a pleasure to work with during the entire adoption process. Amazing!!!The only negative (not worth losing a star) is Fee's adoption records did not show the Combo testing was completed, just a verbal confirmation. Not a huge issue because we will be taking her to the vet soon, and she will still be at her forever home regardless of the results. Thanks ladies!

The young man that has a tattoo is very racist, he was disrespectful and rude to us just because we are Hispanic ladies, he pretended, does not understand our talked and he said we need to wait 10 momentos to pick up my little cabinet that I bought this morning. Beside they used the handy cap parking to pick up and deliver the stuff. I really disappointed with the treatment I received. We all deserve respect and dignified treatment no matter your skin color, the language you speak or where are you from. At the end of the day, we are all human, perhaps phenotypic and genetic make us look different but we have the same value as human beings. Please educate yourselves!

We wanted to donate a designer dining table in mint condition and were told 'we only take tables with chairs'. Wow, it looks like they have enough money.

This isn't the normal thrift store. It's not junk in any way. It's gently worn items sold at a fantastic value. They will even pick up gently worn large valuables, like sofas. Staffed by friendly, wonderful people who are a pleasure to do business with.

I was at the McDonald’s next door to this newly opened thrift store on trickum rd and overheard an employee from the thrift store I believe it was their janitor say “ make my coffee like I hate my people…Black”. I truly hope that Cherokee humane society thrift store does not support or tolerate this behavior at any level within their company. That wasn’t a joke… it was disgusting to hear. Please do better!

Some of their prices are a little high for donated items. I always feel uncomfortable here because the people that work there. Also, you need to move your van away from the street, you can't see the traffic coming from the left.

I adopted my dog from Cherokee County Humane Society almost a year ago. I couldn't be happier with the experience. They are caring, knowledgeable people and my dog was in excellent condition. He was fully checked, temperament tested and healthy. I was given well organized paperwork and with all micro chip info as well as any support I needed while my dog was adjusting to his new home with me. I read the other reviews and all I can say is they can't of had the right place. I have referred 6 other people to Cherokee Couny and they are all happy dog or cat owners now. I have also been to the thrift store... Its a great place to find something unique at a great price!

I love the thrift store and recommend it to friends. They are not an animal shelter. They have great deals on gently used items that makes it possible to save thousands of lives annually. I shop, donate and volunteer there. I don't even live in Cherokee and am absolutely amazed at how many counties are touched by this store and organization. A lot of wonderful people working behind the scenes saving lives every day. Until you have volunteered at an animal rescue for several years you have no idea what goes on. This is strictly a thrift store and they do a great community service.

Don’t use them for furniture pick up if you care about your house at all. Two guys showed up to my house yesterday to pick up a couch, love seat and chair. One of the guys was very polite and tried to do a good job. While he was working to prep the couch, the other guy dragged the loveseat across my hardwood floor creating a huge scratch (a deep scratch about 6 feet long). All we can do to get it fixed is get the entire floor refinished if we would like to sell our house.I have never been so upset, and I regret making a donation, which is actually going to cost me thousands of dollars in the long run in repairs. If this wasn’t a donation, I would be demanding for my hardwood to be repaired.

I have spent a lot of time at this location and have had many great experiences with the staff. These folks do an awesome job saving so many lives. Not everyone can see what all is involved in what work they do but I have and think these folks do great work in this community. Thank you to the staff of the Cherokee County Humane Society for all you do.

My favorite thrift store! They have great deals and because of all the donations coming in, there's always new treasures to find every time I visit. The staff are always friendly and super helpful. I donated a couch last month and they were on time to pick it up and didn't get frustrated or upset while we figured out how to get it through the front door.

The items available are great, and the cause is wonderful, but I couldn't stay inside for more than a few minutes due to the odor. It smells overwhelmingly like cat urine. I have two cats myself, so I'm not averse to animals, but this is overpowering. I wish they'd give this place a good scrub down.

I went to the Cherokee County Humane Society to donate a very nice small love seat that when my Grandmother moved into the retirement community she did not have room for. She recently purchased the sofa for more that $1000 so I know it would have brought money. The people there were very rude. No one wanted to help unload the sofa. And then an older black guy said there was no room. No worries I took it to Goodwill. Amazing how rude people can be though..

Sherry Thomas is not a nice woman nor would she answer any questions regarding the puppy I was interested in. The very first question she asked me via text, because she refuses phone calls “If you were to die in a car accident tomorrow, who would take care of the dog?” That is a morbid first question to ask during a time that’s supposed to be happy. She denied my application because I refused to bring my older dog into her home, in an unfamiliar environment when I had not even met the puppy yet to know if the pup was a good fit for us. I do not recommend adopting from her. She wanted more information regarding my family, their phones numbers, places of employment, and where they live; and that was After I filled out her application. She insisted on more information then I or my family was comfortable providing. This is not an adoption, it’s an interrogation and it was the most miserable experience I have encountered regarding rescues. (And I have 3)

The Humane Society is often confused with The Cherokee County Animal Shelter. CCHS has a Thrift store that raises money to take care of the animals that come in from kill shelters by providing them food, supplies, medical care etc... some of the money goes on to help fosters who have graciously volunteered to give our pets a temp but living home until adopted. The organization does NOT...repeat...does not take in animals that are found.there just is not enough room or fosters to do that. It hurts to have to turn some away.. those who support the cause, will donate wonderful items and you see this often. As well as maybe not so nice stuff because those who only want their old stuff gone. The store tried to separate the good stuff that comes in from non working to items missing parts. I see beautiful items in the store on a daily basis. And must say that now since the cats are no longer staying in the store... except for the ones in ICU that need medical attention, the store smells better and looks alot nicer! Especially with the extra room that is set up for show! I'm guessing that at this particular time of year when people are donating to replace new Christmas items and because of tax time, the store will be experiencing high volume. Which is a good thing for shoppers but also not so good when it comes to room for donated items. Please understand this as you stop by. You will be pleased to find many bargains as well. I give the store and it's work a 5 star! Not everyone will be pleased just because that's the nature of the beast so to speak. Can't please everyone all the time...it is worth going in and checking it out!

We adopted a cat and are very satisfied with the care given. Thanks to all who rescue these animals in need. We also just adopted a 2 and 1/2 old puppy that was left(with his brother) in a box on a friend's porch. My friend's oldest son adopted the other. They are beautiful black Lab boys.

This is hands down the best animal rescue in north Georgia.I adopted my two fur babies from them and they were so nice and concerned that the animals were going to a good home where they'll be loved and taken care of.I can see how people who get turned down could be salty and have hurt feelings but in the end these angels are here for the animals FIRST. What more could you ask for in an animal rescue?

I fostered and then adopted a senior dog from Sherry at Petco. This dog was pulled from a hoarding home with 60 other animals who were living in a filthy yard. She was very sick, almost dead. Anyone else would have had her euthanized. The CCHS decided this girl was worth saving.. she had major surgery and almost a year of socializing. We now own the happiest senior dog ever...who has traveled much of the US with us.Sherry genuinely cares about the animals she rescues, and has a huge heart. She has rescued over 2,000 dogs, which otherwise would not be alive today.Anyone who says otherwise has an ulterior motive.... perhaps they need to take a good look at themselves as dog owners.A dog should never have to be rescued from it's adopters!!!!

I have fostered for Cherokee Humane Society and helped with transports for them to and from clinics for kitties that needed veto care, routine and for illness. They have always been the best and most caring. When I've had sick kitties they have done whatever they needed to help me get them healthy. Vets, med, answer questions about dosing and sometimes just "hand holding" for me. At one point I felt overwhelmed and Ann worked with me that night to find a new foster for some sick babies that I felt I wasn't able to do enough for. They all pulled through fine and have found their furever homes. Please be sure you aren't confusing the Shelter with this Rescue - they work really hard for their animals and fosters!

I will never use again. I had three workers today that made several comments about the things they wanted that I was donating. They were not good at packing the truck and got the last item out and took part of it and left part in my side yard. When I called I was advised they were not coming back as they did not think they could sell the item. I asked why take part and leave the rest in my yard. When I asked why they man said I should not have put it in the yard. I explained they put it in my yard and said they would be back. Manager refused to speak to me. I have donated several times in the past but will NEVER give them another item. The volunteers that came to my house were lazy.

I will never set foot in here again. never mind the place is filthy and half the stuff i saw there was poorly kept, we called about my lost pet. They told us if it comes here from the shelter were charging you an adoption fee to return it. My own pet, even if you can prove it's yours. I think this place is a scam and they're in it for the money, dont be fooled. there are tons of other thrift stores around here...

Great place for cheap second-hand furniture and art. I purchased a canvas piece myself I couldn't be more happy with. Easy in and out and always items coming in. Would recommend for good, low cost furniture and decor!

We adopted 2 kittens from the PetSmart in Canton who partner with this Humane Society. The lady who helped us was very nice and extremely helpful. Both cats had URI's and pink eye (which is totally normal for shelter kitties). She lowered the price since it was adoption month and we were adopting 2 kittens. She also offered us medicine and eye drops. We ended up taking them to Bridgemill Animal Hospital on the way home but I think she went above and beyond what was required. The background infomation packets were helpful for the vet and my children liked knowing where the kittens had come from. They made the experience very nice!
