Amazing shop! The owners are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and show a deep level of commitment to their animals and their customers. This isn't a big corporate chain, but a family business that really cares. I've been going here my whole life (current and previous locations) and my family and I have gotten many pets from them over the years. The animals are always their top priority and well cared for, which is important to me as a customer.One of my favorite things when I visit here is to see the baby birds that they hand-raise. They take a lot of care to socialize them properly as well. I can't recommend them enough!

I recommend going to this place for all your animal needs. My husband and I just got this Dusky Conure at Animal Atlanta!His name is Bjorn Ironside! We love him so much, He is a great addition to our family. Thankyou guys so much for going above and beyond to meet our needs.

They are the bird gurus! Such a huge variety of bird supplies and food. They have the healthiest, hand fed birds for sale. I'm sure they offer other services, but I have always gone to them for my bird's needs.Everyone is super nice, educated in what they do, and very helpful!

I use to be a regular for 6 years and at one time this place really did care about their customers along with animals. I noticed years back things were in decline. There hasn’t been many options locally when looking for certain exotic pets, feeders, and care. I’m glad that there are better options. Shortly after my sister fed her animals, it resulted with most of them passing away. Everything came from here. They didn’t show any concern with what happened or what could happen to others.

John and Michelle, the owners are really wonderful people. They have always got the special things in stock that you can't find anywhere else and are reasonably priced for all products in their store. Whether your looking for reptile, fish, avian, K9, feline, ferret or even a rodent, they got it.Please love support our small businesses because they're an example of true freedom in America.So before you go to the big box store or use your fingers on Amazon, get out, get some sunshine and stimulation and visit your local businesses like this one or they'll be gone forever and all you'll have is online shopping and a severe vitamin D deficiency...

My husband called prior to us driving 1.5 hours away to this pet store for a Green Cheek Conure. We were told they had young hand fed conures. Upon getting there, I was taken back by how ran down the store was. I wasn’t expecting the filthy floors, cages, and depressing living conditions of the animals. I was taken back to the birds by who I think was John. He kept pushing me to see different types they offered and to influence be to buy a certain bird that was discounted with a good deal. The room that housed the conures (and other variety of birds) is small with MANY birds shoved into small cages. John told me that they hand feed the babies as I was adamant I wanted a YOUNGER hand fed baby. (Which was told on the phone they had). He told me all the very young ones had been sold at Christmas but assured me that the ones in cages were still going around 6-7 months old.I picked out the bird I wanted already dismayed by their poor living conditions. He roughly clipped his wings, nails, and beak and then pelvic examined my bird which by experts opinions and vets is a huge no no. He pushed many items onto me when checking out, a cozy corner which had a price on it for $10 but rang me up for $15. A big bag of pure seeds which I didn’t ask for and did not know he was charging me for, and tried to sell me vitamins that these birds clearly do no receive. My Archie was taken to the vet and upon examination from an avian vet who has been doing this for many many years told me that there’s no way he is around 6-7 months. He has very scaly dark legs and adult plumage. I took him in because I wanted to make sure he was healthy though his feathers were in poor shape. He has been sneezing, had watery poo, amongst other things. The worst of it all was how scared he was to see the sun- he flinched and screamed when moving the curtain open in my window. I messaged through their website to ask for hatch dates and have been told “we don’t keep them because we have over 300 birds”. Almost every other store or breeder I talked to DOES keep records for their animals. I’m beyond frustrated that I was overcharged and paid so much for a sick bird. I love Archie already but am disgusted with how this shop operates and am submitting a complaint with the proper channels. Also adding that John the man who “helped” me was very unprofessional. Talking rudely about other customers to me after they left, political and religious views, and the biggest one of all how hot a woman was when his wife was in the next room helping a customer. I will never step foot in this shack again, I feel horrible for all the animals there. Very few I’m sure are actually loved on or taken care of. The others are kept in small cages filled with feces, other birds, etc.Trust these 1 star reviews because if I could I would give NO stars.

I was originally very unhappy with the cockatiel I purchased after calling the store I was able to exchange for a more suitable match for us . She went above and beyond to help me find the right fit . She I can’t remember her name is very knowledgeable & your lucky to have her there to help . We are excited for the adventures of lil Wick thanks so much for making it better .

Love this place. It is the only place around me that has resident experts in reptiles and birds. I pass 3 big box pet stores to get here and it's worth it.

Got our first ferret, always wanted one since I was a kid, all the animals look great, I do think the store needs a good deep cleaning. The staff is very knowledgeable. My only complaint is the 2 kids who said they were volunteers, they continuously told my 5 year old and my 8 year old that if they dropped a bird or parrot, snake or any animal, that it would hit the floor, bleed out and die. They said it numerous times and followed us around repeating it. I know that the majority of the animals there would no be hurt from falling 3 feet.

Anyone who buys from here, you didn’t do your research and I’m sorry. They don’t care about the pets needs it’s just another awful pet store that sees animals as window decor and sells unhealthy feed so they can sell you another pet after your baby passes and they’ll blame you like you did something wrong and blame politics. I was told a good bird should be fat and unable to fly sold only seeds. I ran fast. Sorry if you think this place is great but I recommend you do your research and raise you standers to at least a 70% of caring for your pets well being. It didn’t take long to know this place was another mill straight from the owner himself. Told me to chain my bird to a stick and feed it just seeds that’s how my mothers grey died from liver disease at age 3. I now free fly my bird and we’ve been happy and healthy for for 4 years.

Do not listen to any of the negative reviews, employees were nothing but nice and helpful. They were so informative with any questions we had & even let us hold a few animals. The store itself was nothing like we’d ever seen before, the selection of animals and necessities were amazing. Will never return to another pet store other than Animal Atlanta!

Wonderful selection of healthy, sustainable pet food for all types of animals. Staff is super knowledgeable and extremely friendly to speak with. I am grateful for a local business that truly has the highest good of all of our 4 leggeds, amphibians and winged ones at heart.

These guys are awesome! Today me and my son went to recticon with no intentions of by a snake but my son wanted a ball python. Well I had no clue what I was getting myself into. But these guys hooked me up and explained everything. It is just a basic set up now but there will be upgrade! Thanks you guys for going above and beyond!

Went here today to purchase a parakeet and I have to say these people are freakin awesome 👏🏻 so helpful and I mean wow I’ll always come back here It’s about 45 mins from my house but man worth every minuteSo informativeSet up my whole cage for meWalked me to my carAnd very affordableThanks again ! ❤️

Found a bunny that I fell in love with. The husband and kids watched them feed the snakes. Had a parrot on my shoulder. Such a fun experience. Great customer service. Willing to educate you about the various animals.

Mostly exotics, but staff is extremely knowledgeable with thier animals. Didn't have a large selection for dog treats. But the experience I had here was wonderful. The birds are absolutely beautiful and well taken care of. Not a basic pet shop at all. All thier pets are well taken care of and staff is awesome. Can answer all questions you have when it comes to exotics. I will be buying a bird here!!!

John & Michelle are very knowledgeable and passionate about the pets they sell and are a great source of information and education about the care of their animals. I was looking for finches and they had >80 to choose from, including Lady Gouldian and Society finches, as well as a nice selection of canaries!Both John & Michelle are very personable and helpful and totally worth the 2 hour drive from Trenton, GA for my purchase of a female Lady Gouldian for my male back home, and a gorgeous male Red factor Canary to serenade my Gouldians! I highly recommend them if you are a bird enthusiast, but go and visit for your other pet needs. I'm sure you will not be disappointed!

We drove from the city which was about an hour. It was worth it! All the ladies were knowledgeable and very nice! They helped my 12 yr old daughter pick out everything she liked for her new dragon. The birds stole the show though! They are super cool! I’ll definitely take the drive for all our pet supplies! Thanks guys! We smiled all the way home!

I cannot say enough about this place. I have never seen so many bird varieties. The owners are very helpful and knowledgeable. We got there almost at closing time, but we're not rushed through and we even got to see them hand feeding the baby birds. They are very hands on and make sure that you bring home hand-taised, sociable and sweet birds. They also have tons of reptiles and many many more things. We live about 3 hours away, but they are well worth the drive.

I wouldn't buy any new pet without talking to the owners of this small business! Their knowledge of ALL things pet related is unmatched! They never just try to sell you a pet or pet products to make a buck. If the pet you're considering requires more time than you have to give, they'll suggest one that might work better. They actually care about pet & owner. Rare these days!

Been shopping and just visiting this place for years. Kind family owned pet store. The most amazing selection of exotic birds and reptiles you will find anywhere around. I bought my snake here and he has been amazing. Highly recommend this place for all your pet supplies and exotic animals.

They have a great collection for support of birds, small reptiles and small mammals. They have cleaned up a lot of the clutter and the place looks much better than in past years. Staff is nice, polite, etc but often seem distracted on store tasks over customers. I am sure many customers just browse so you need to ask if you want support. They do allow bording which is a huge plus. Note: i can't give 5 stars because they are still not warning people how big those turtles get...

Great family owned pet store! The owners and staff were super helpful and knowledgeable. We went to look and get more information on tortoises and walked out the cutest baby tortoise. They helped us with a set up and telling us about what diet to feed our new family member.Thank you for being an honest business!
