I entrusted the Shady Pines staff with the care of my girls for about a week and I was beyond nervous to do so. It was my first time boarding them, but between my husband being out of town for work and a family emergency I had to travel for, I was left with little options. Communication with the staff was great- someone was always available to answer my calls and my questions throughout their stay. The doggy daycare was great, allowing them the opportunity to run around outside together and stretch their legs. They both came back leaner, but the staff communicated with me how they were stubborn to eat in the new environment, so I don't blame them for that. They also came home with scratches and scans, but I'm attributing that to how rough they play together and the condition of the outdoor equipment. Overall I'm satisfied; they were taken care of and came home in good spirits, albeit exhausted!

I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews. And yes they took decent enough care of our cat but my poor dog came back having lost weight (between 5 and 10 lbs) and is covered in bed sores. I had specifically left her soft bed and some toys for her to have while she stayed and neither toy showed signs of chewing and the bed was completely clean so I knew she never got to use it. I also received a call while I was gone asking when I planned to pick up my pets and I had already confirmed the dates twice before leaving. Then when I picked them up the guy at the front desk tried to argue with me about what I had said when I dropped them off and told me he gave the dog a bath free of charge when I had specifically asked him not to because of her sensitivity to certain soaps. Luckily it's obvious she never got the bath because she was covered in dirt, loose fur, and multiple spots of her was stained yellow/brown from the fluids coming off the bed sores when I got her home. I can't believe how wrong I was in trusting them with her.

I ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH SHADY PINES!!!! I honestly can't trust my babyboy (Pit & Labrador mix) with any other K9 boarding service.Mr. Bill, his family, and everyone there are genuine animal lovers and amazing caretakers. If I could give them 10 STARS, I would. Incredible vibe, dogs are ALWAYS HAPPY, affordable, and honest! We got pictures of our dog living his best life with all the other doggos at doggy daycare, while my family and I were out of town, and it reassured us that we could enjoy the weekend and trust our bestest bud was in safe hands!

Excellent affordable doggy day care and or boarding for one night or two weeks they have you covered whether your pet is large or small they take em all.... Nobody and I mean nobody can cut my dog's nails but somehow the tall kid the owner's son he got it done this place is highly recommended by myself

I bring my fur baby here whenever I need to board her. If you call and no one answers, try calling again! It usually means they are tending to the kennels and the dogs. The property is spacious and very clean! I have had no bad experience with their services. They are very affordable compared to other kennels, which is nice!! There is plenty of parking. I have never had to wait long once I get there to drop her off. I have never been told they could not board her from lack of staff, room, or availability. I pick my baby up from boarding as happy as when I drop her off, so I believe she is always treated well here. She's always come back in good health and still looks and smells just fine.

My most recent visit was my best one. I bring my 2 dogs and Johnathan always takes good care of them. He is very helpful and friendly. I love the prices but I just need to make sure I call more in advance to book dates around holidays.

This is a terrible place to board your animal. They are not professional at all. All they see is $$$$$ and over booked themselves to many dogs for the staff to able to handle. I left my pup there for 4 days/3 nights, when I picked him up he was shaking. He also has a mysterious lump/scab on his rear end. They proceeded to feed him the wrong food his whole stay there. He has has an upset stomach for days now. I will NEVER be returning here.

Obviously, you get what you paid for. I'm pretty sure my pup was in the kennel the entire time I boarded there and I sent so many treats and food and leftovers. Some how, none was left. I almost positive that they keep the food themselves to use.Recommend for short stays but definitely not long!

I was super excited to try this place for my 2 dogs to get groomed and boarded at. The grooming was decent and very reasonable priced. However, everything to do with boarding was a complete disaster. I was misled about prices and was charged twice as much as I was told to expect. I also brought enough food for my dogs that would normally last about 3 weeks because I did not want running out of food to even be a possibility. Somehow they had no food left when I returned and this is very frustrating when I know they had more than enough. I took 1 dog to the vet the week before they were boarded and yet again 2 days after I picked them up from being boarded. In the week between vet visits, she lost almost 5lbs. I don’t know how she lost weight if she was supposedly fed 3 weeks worth of food. Both of my dogs also came home pretty sick with kennel cough and one is having to stay at the vet hospital overnight to be treated. While Bill is very nice and they did accommodate one of my dogs needing to be on a harness instead of a slip lead, it is very frustrating and it’s not ok. The vet bills on top of being misled about pricing in the first place is a lot to have to figure out and manage.

My Dane has enjoyed his stays here, comes back happy and healthy and not dirty. He is prone to anxiety belly issues but seems to do well at Shady Pines and we notice minimal tummy issues when home.

Shady Pines is awesome! My 8 month old puppy Blaze spent 4 days with them, while my family and I took a mini vacation. I must admit, I was a little worried because he is very hyper and I did not know if it would work out. They handled him nicely. The young lady I interacted with when I dropped my puppy off was super nice and put my mind at ease immediately. I packed an overnight bag with his food, bowls, toys, and blanket. That was all he needed and they also offer to groom your pets as well, which came in handy. They are very affordable and no hidden costs! I would definitely use their service again. I would also recommend this kennel to anyone in the area as well. Thank you for taking care of my Blaze, Shady Pines!

This place looks lovely and of course the price is right but you get what you pay for. I sent my dog there will more than enough food to last him for 4 nights and 1 day which was the duration of his stay here at shady pines. He came back will damn near all of the food I sent him with. When we arrived home he RAN straight to the water bowl and drank like he haven’t had water in days he ate 2 full cans of food within min of each other mind you he is only a 17lb shih tzu, long story short this place is good for a quick night or for a few hours but more than that I think is a death sentence to your fur baby !!

Our dogs and cat were here for 4 nights. We sent wet food, dry food and bread as well as toys. The toys weren’t touched , not sure they ever had them and the left over food and bread wasn’t given back. One of the dogs has a cut on his head and nothing was said about it, so we have no clue where it came from. Apparently they were so dirty they had to be washed off, not sure why. When we got home they RAN to their water bowl and drank until it was empty then devoured food which for one of them isn’t normal. Otherwise they are fine but due to how they acted and the mysterious cut they won’t be going back. Too bad because the price is great. Our cat has lost weight and wasn’t given joint supplements. She was sent with more than enough food and none of it was sent back. Since being home she’s acting strange. Again. Won’t be coming back.

They take great care of our dog plus clipping his nails for us because he is such a big baby when we try to do it. We are always nervous taking our pet to a new place as he is an extended member of our family. Shady Pines has always taken great care of him and this is the 8th time we have used them. If you want a place that will take great care of your pet I highly encourage you check them out.

My boyfriend and I adopted a dog from here two years ago. When we picked him up he was extremely dirty, malnourished and hyper from not being able to go outside. He hadn’t been outside in over two weeks and hadn’t been bathed in over a month. (told to us directly by the worker) He was using the bathroom in the same place he had to eat and sleep. We were told we couldn’t have his papers or records until we got him neutered and brought back proof of it. They feed the animals very cheap food that is horrible on their stomachs.We took him to Bentley’s Pet Stuff (awesome place) and gave him a good wash and brought him home. He has been the best companion and such a sweetie. However, two years later i’m still paying $500 almost every time he has to go to the vet for the ear and stomach issues they let slip by and not do anything about. Wouldn’t recommend. All of those fur babies there need to be rescued and this place needs to be shut down.

Our Great Dane is very timid and they take really good care of him while we are away, we have had bad experiences with other kennels but we have been using this one for about a year now and love it. We know that our dog loses weight when in stressful environments even though he eats all his food so we make sure to bring some extra and they are very understanding of the at and want to make sure he is being care for properly.

I left my 1 year old pit there for two days and she came back looking better then when I dropped her off. They bathed her, trimmed her nails, etc. She smelt really good and the staff was very friendly and kind. She acted like she didn’t want to leave the place! Overall very good place!

We’ve taken our dog baby to this kennel multiple times, the first couple time she came back completely fine, the last couple times she was there she came back home extremely thirsty acting, she also caught a really bad case of kennel cough from one of the dogs there. It makes me not wanna take her back because it’s obviously not clean and they don’t make sure the others dogs aren’t sick. I would be careful taking your dog here.

Love this place for boarding my two big dogs. Staff is very friendly, price is reasonable, they give good baths here too. My dogs walk right in without a leash, no anxiety so I know they are treated well here. :-)

For once my pups were excited to see me but also wanted to go back and play! I'm so happy I found a place I can trust with my over hyper king shepherd and Dutch shepherd. And if you use them you should try out the doggy daycare that's next to them I loved getting pics of them playing all day!

The place looks like it may be in a slightly sketchy area, but the staff are kind, friendly, and their facilities are clean. They even let me take a look around for myself. The kennels are well kept, and they have nice play yards for them. Picked up my dogs one time, and they were a little dirty, but they're reasonably priced and I have no worries about this place.

I've used them for over two years and they always take care of my three dogs. My lab has issues with stranger and they've been able to handle him just fine. The staff really care about their wellbeing and I dont worry when they go for a visit at their "aunt and uncle's house." :)

Took our high anxiety dog here for a weekend stay. They were very understanding of his needs. He was happy and freshly bathed when we picked him up. Will definitely be using them in the future.
