I've been going since a little before Xmas when Santa got my 2 kids a 10 gallon each. Since then, the store has been SO helpful in really helping me to get these tanks running smoothly. The staff is very helpful and the quality of fish greatly surpass the big box pet stores.I've become addicted. Here is a pretty Betta I purchased this past weekend.

Amazing! Ashley and her staff are very knowledgeable and patient with you. Super great store with lots of options to add to your aquariums. Highly, highly, highly recommend. I drove an hour and half to get to the store and it was worth every minute/mile.

The town we live in has no pet stores! So my family and I have have drove and checked out many fish and aquatic stores around our area. We have enjoyed and made purchases at all. But Southern Aquatics is hands done the best at customer satisfaction and service. Great stock and healthy fish.

Asked the staff to order me some Blue eyed Forktail rainbow fish. They were very accommodating. My fish came in today, and they are in great shape. They are adjusting well to their aquarium so far. I'm very happy with my purchase and highly recommend Southern Aquatics!

Extremely cool selection of fish and live plants. The employees can make you feel a little stupid though, kinda condescending. They told me my tank water was the problem with keeping fish alive. I tested my water versus the water the fish came home in... my water was better when strip tested. I will be back to buy fish just don't need the snotty attitudes from the employees.

Purchased 3 Scarlet Badis this Friday afternoon. The 2 females were very small and quite thin but I've been desperately looking for a female for the last few years so I purchased them. Did drip acclimation over 3 hours. Placed in well established, heavily planted tank. Less than 24 hours after purchase, one has died. The other two appear to have settled in nicely. Store refused reimbursement or store credit. I'm very disappointed in this customer service. I have 6 well established tanks that I have successfully managed and breed Tiger Badis, peacock gudgeons, and neocaradina shrimp so I am not new to this. Over the last 3 years, I have made several purchases here, spending no less than $50-80 dollars each time. I won't be going back with this kind of customer service. Will drive a little farther to Premier Aquatics for their better customer service and selection.#anothercustomerlostEdit-Response to Owner's Response: There is absolutely no way this fish was "healthy" and eating adequately. It was much too thin. The remaining one is equally thin, but still alive. I have been successfully breeding badis for the last 4 years and have raised many batches of fry to adult There is no way you can make that comment with certainty given how dark and heavily planted your tank is. I acknowledge your posted policy but for developing relationships with repeat long term customers this creates mistrust. With your profit margin so high, I'd expect better quality and better customer service, specifically store credit for a death within 24 hours with sample of water for testing. If that had been offered, I would have been satisfied and would have remained a customer.

am new to the aquarium world but wanted to check this out and ask questions. This store is so clean and organized. I was greeted immediately upon entering and the service here is great! I at no point felt like no one was there to help me. Employees were throughout the store and eager to answer any questions. They were not pushy at all. Tanks were organized by fresh and saltwater varieties. So many beautiful fish! I was educated on caring for my aquatic animal and also maintenance. Things have certainly changed from my WalMart goldfish and glass bowl days! There was a young teenage girl who helped me and she was more mature and bright than people my age I know.Even if you are not in the market to buy a fish I would still recommend stopping in and checking it out. When I am ready to buy I will definitely be coming here!

This is a wonderful fish store for anyone who has aquarium needs. The staff is always very friendly, helpful, and informative. What I love most about this store is that they tend to carry less-common creatures and setups compared to other stores I've been to. They often times have live daphnia as well, which is great for pickier small fish.

Edit: The fish died in the bag, within 1 hour of purchase. That’s why I won’t waste my time proving to you my water parameters are fine, just so you can give me a 10% discount on a fish that might die again in an hour.I was a loyal customer who shopped here almost weekly. I bought a Gamma from them and it died within 1 hour of leaving the store. They stood by their all sales are final policy and wouldn’t even offer me store credit, nothing. Very disappointing. Also, the owner is rude and condescending. She insisted that it was my water parameters that killed the fish, even though I explained to her the fish was dead in the bag. All of my past interactions with the owner she has been condescendingly blunt, and overall just unpleasant. There are better stores in the area that offer much better customer service.

Wow!!! I have been in the aquarium hobby now for 35 years and I have been to a LOT of LFS's and right now I am ranking them as #1 all time! They had the best looking Rummy Nosed Tetras I have ever seen in a dealer tank....Ever! Not only that but once I got them home they didn't even lose ANY coloration in the nose and accepted food THE NEXT DAY meaning that they are totally and completely healthy. Also I purchased some red crystal shrimp that are pretty hard to find that were very healthy as well. They packed my order very professionally and were very knowledgeable and friendly. The store itself was super clean and all the fish and tanks were very well maintained. They have a bonkers selection of hard to find fresh and saltwater fish, plants, shrimp and corals. I am very thankful to have found this place and I can't wait to get back there.

Beautifully maintained aquariums with a great selection of both saltwater and freshwater fish, plants, and supplies. A little pricier than what you can find at a big box store but worth the price for the extra care and attention spent on their tanks.

Incredible customer service! I came into the store not knowing anything about how to care for fish or properly cycle an aquarium. I had many questions and concerns. The staff answered all of my questions and concerns with patience and respect. They are incredibly knowledgeable. The store is clean and organized and the fish are well cared for. This is the only place I will be buying fish from now on. I highly, highly recommend this store. Whether you have had fish for years or you are new to owning fish this is the place to go.

I bought an axolotl from this store for $90 and put him in my fully cycled tank full of decorations that were fine for my other axolotl for 3 years and it died within a week. They have no exchange or refund policies after I spent $90 on a bed who lasted me 6 days

I have been a customer of Southern Aquatics for many years. They have NEVER failed to assist me.....whether my request is a small purchase or an upgrade. The staff is pleasant, knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions. Recently, I decided to upgrade my 29 gal. aquarium to 55 gallons. Taylor immediately went to work ensuring all of the necessary equipment was ordered. She also arranged for the installation of the new tank, including the transfer of the fish I currently own. Yesterday, the tank was installed and the old equipment removed in about 2 hours. AND the total bill was WAY less than the original estimate. The installers did not leave until they ensured that I knew how to operate the filters, lights, etc. I am so delighted that I have also decided to hire Southern Aquatics to design a "sea scape" in the near future.

Sara helped us tremendously and she’s so wonderful.We went into the store to get the first two fishes for the girls, Sara helped us with everything from the type of fish, tank, light, to water filter system and feed… we couldn’t have done it without her and now the girls are in love with their fishes.Thank you!!

Awesome store, awesome people! In addition to the great selection of aquatic life, the customer service I received really exemplifies why it’s so worthwhile to support local businesses instead of buying everything online. I bought an expensive item for dosing chemicals in my aquarium that I couldn’t get to work properly. Ashley and Taylor did troubleshooting in store, contacted the manufacturer rep on my behalf, and ultimately exchanged the unit for me hassle free. Happy to have them in my community, and worth the drive even if you’re not close by!

I bought what I thought was a 7 fish school of Red eye tetras, but realized two were head and tail light tetras. Now I have two fish that dont have a complete school and I havent found this type of fish anywhere else. Kind of frustrating, but lesson learned.

I agree the store staff is not overly friendly. I was greeted quickly by a woman sitting on a stool , however I was passed off quickly. Patrick did good job. I agree it’s over priced, however I was hoping that meant higher quality fish. 4 hrs after getting my (5) fish home , (2) died , 10 hrs later another , now (3) are dead.my rainbow shark only hides, so I’m not sure if he will make it.This is a birthday gift for my 3 year old , and he’s bummed out one passed away.I did not see the guarantee . If I did I would not have bought here, I am just going to have to shop at petco, or pet smart where they have a 30 day guarantee and save 1/2 price per fish.Sad they can’t match it , especially at such a higher cost

Great LFS that is easy to get to even if you're not from Roswell. Very easy going vibe, Ashley (the owner) and the staff were genuinely friendly. We visited looking for some hardscape pieces to put into a new tank we will be setting up and found a nice piece of ohko (dragon) stone and seiryu that we purchased. I recently joined AAAA and were referred to this shop by numerous other members. I can see why people speak so highly of the store and the staff. I didn't even have to ask for a bit of water to wet the rocks to verify how they would look wet, Ashley overheard my conversation and handed me a spray bottle. Will defintely go back again!

I got my daughter a Betta fish from this store.. previously have had bad experience from other stores, but THIS STORE - THE SOUTHERN AQUATICS, trust me you won’t go wrong! I forgot to ask the kind lady her name, but overall I’ll say the staff knows what they are doing and please follow their advice if you’re a first timer!

This place is heading in the wrong direction, unfortunately. After years of shopping here and spending many hundreds of dollars on fish, they offer nothing in exchange for a fish I purchased from them that is not working out in my tank. They will turn around and sell the fish for more than I paid for it, and I would have been happy for a trade value for a fraction of the cost of what I paid ($30). Instead, they are losing a long-time customer and hundreds of dollars of future spend on fish (with pricing about double what you’d pay elsewhere, it’s easy to get into the hundreds). I hope they change their management practices, and wish them the best of luck with other customers. This is the last time I’ll be shopping at this store.

We have found our go to fish store! Store is laid out great if you are a beginner, which we are. The staff was super friendly and very helpful to make sure our little ones first aquarium experience was a successful one. As our aquarium grows and we are still in the area, we will be sure to continue going here for all of our aquatic needs.
