The ladies at the window are always friendly. I always order the liver dinner and ask for it to be soft fried. They always work with you if there is a mix up with your order, which there rarely is, and this is so refreshing coming from a "fast-food" restaurant. There are nothing but smiles and cheap prices here. I don't like all of their sides but its no big deal. Their banana pudding is oddly delicious. I've never liked banana pudding without bananas, because what banana pudding doesn't have bananas? However, there's is so good to me. It's crust is thick and tastes like vanilla wafers, and the pudding itself is sweet, creamy, and slightly whipped. Sometimes I take it home and add my own bananas. The only thing I hate is their drive thru. I also wish they would upgrade their building and location because it is so cramped and chaotic in that drive-thru. When you pull of from receiving your order, you're met with traffic at a stop sign. Sometimes you can't pull up enough for the customers behind you waiting to receive their order. If you know, you know (to my locals). However, otherwise, this place offers great service and food.

My girlfriend and I just moved to the Albany area and we’re in search of some good fried chicken. Needless to say we found it at Carters. We got chicken, Mac, mashed potatoes w gravy, and potato salad. To top it off we ordered bananas pudding. This chicken tastes like somebody’s auntie fired it up after church, it doesn’t get anymore homegrown than this. We will be back and I recommend it to anyone. Staff was friendly and chicken was fresh.

Got the ten piece bucket deal. Came with two pints size of sides and four rolls. Chicken 🐔 was fresh. Mashed potatoes and gravy with macaroni and cheese. It was mixed. Not all white or dark meat. They have baked chicken as well. Should've asked if they could do half fried and half baked chicken. Banana pudding was good too. Their hamburger 🍔 are good as their steak sandwiches. Pork chops meals as well.Vegetarian options: I'm sure you can get a vegetable plate 🍽️ if you don't want meat.Parking: Plenty of spots for parking.

It's hit and miss when you go inside to order and eat inside. One time, we waited 20 minutes, but every car in the drive-through was moving at a fast rate. I asked about our order for my wife and I, and the lady told me all the chicken sold out. We will need to wait another 20 minutes. I told her to cancel our order and refund me. It seems these days that the drive-through window gets better and faster service at most of the fast food restaurants. We reluctantly went back about 3 weeks later and got our food fast. The chicken itself was average. There is too much black pepper flavoring for my taste. BTW... My brothers and I owned and operated a fast food franchise for 26 years. (1972 to 1998) We definitely had better fried chicken and "No drive through window"! Really miss those days when businesses appreciated their customers.

Friendly staff and a very clean facility located just inside Lee county next to riverfront barbecue. They currently have dine-in and drive-thru services available can be very busy but offer hand breaded homemade chicken nuggets and catfish both of which I've tried and enjoyed and if there is a problem with your order if you bring it to their attention they will resolve any issue you have

There was a long wait to place our order but the staff was very friendly and happy and gracious. We also had to wait about ten minutes after payment/ service at window to get our chicken. Food was very bland and under seasoned. Mashed potatoes and gravy had no spices and were terrible. And the chicken, while hot, fresh and crispy, was just bland. No flavor. For the price, they should do better. We spent over $30.

Updating my review from 4 to 2. I’ve gone there now 3 times & the food isn’t what it use to be to me. The banana pudding doesn’t have enough cookies anymore, the chicken was cold & dry, the fried stale and cold. I didn’t update my 4 star until 3 spaced out updated visits because anybody can have an off day or two but, the subpar food now just seems to be more the norm than not. Disappointing because they were my go to place. Service still friendly!

I only have came here twice, and both times they did not have burgers or chicken, and one of the times was only accepting cash, couldn’t Even pay with card or get the food. If that has happened to me two times and the only two times that I came here I will not be coming back. I suggest you order the correct amount of food and have all payments options open.

Best dang chicken around! Those folks at Carters don’t mess around when it comes to amazing banana pudding and outstanding customer service. You can never go wrong with Carter’s chicken. I’m happy to say I’ve never had a skimpy piece of chicken there - unlike many other places around town. 🐓

The cleanliness is terrible in my opinion because when a restaurant or a fast food chain cannot evolve to the understanding of placing sauce packets or food cup containers separately from your food in the bag when in most cases they put it inside your tray then how does that constitute as sanitary?! People can easily drop those on the floor at work and put it back in boxes or shelves when someone later will put it in your food!

THE best chicken around. The buffalo chicken tenders are also excellent. Highly recommended. The tenders are big along with the breasts. Fries can be a tad under cooked for my taste sometimes but nothing major. The lunch specials are usually top notch and they have THE best sweet tea around. Banana pudding isn’t half bad either. They are also very fast with service. This place is hoping every week day at lunch so they move customers in and out fast. Call you order in on the over and they’ll have it waiting on you

OK so my first time eating here. I had fried gizzard meal and Hubby had livers meal. Wow it was awesome! Cooked just right. Enough for 2 meals. Popped the leftovers in the air fried and it was just as good. Staff is fast and friendly. Dinning.area old but clean.
