The Pet Lodge is close to my home and makes it great. I wanted to drop the dog off for a day since I had relatives coming to town. The only day we could go on an outing was a Friday or Saturday. I found out the Lodge was closed on Saturday. In 40 years of working with, and training dogs, I never heard of a kennel being closed on a Saturday. Usually, they open, at least a couple of hours for pick up. When I dropped the dog off I was asked a question about food. If you know anything about dogs, sometimes, they will not eat a day or two because the stress of a new environment even if you are with them. They won't starve. When I told the lady at the counter he may not eat, she called him "high maintenance". This told me she does not know much about dogs.We dropped my dog off late Friday and picked him up at the first chance we could, Sunday between 3:00 and 5:00 pm. He was there for two days and I was charged for three days. By closing one day, it becomes a money maker for the Lodge because you have to leave your dog or cancel all the plans you had. In this business, you have to have workers at the location every day to feed and check on the dogs. The explanation of "I need a day off too," is not a good answer.I admit, I am old school and just want my dog boarded. He doesn't have to play with other dogs. In fact, I prefer he doesn't in most cases since the people today don't know dog behaviors or can read the behavior before it happens to prevent a fight. Anyway, when I picked my dog up, the young man came into the room and before looking around to see if a dog had come in the door, he let the lead drop and my dog ran into the room right into the face of another dog. Yes, the dogs were fine, but this should never had happened. There could have been a problem. If he kept the lead in his hand, there would never be a problem.I paid the bill and left. I didn't even see that I was charged three days for my dog being there less than two days. We are new to the area and and having a boarding facility close to home is great. Unfortunately, I question the knowledge of the woman I talked to the first day and the knowledge of the young man who let my dog run free. We will not be going back.

Scheduling was easy and I appreciate that they do a trial to ensure your pet will do well with them before officially dropping them off for a weekend. My fur baby came back happy and healthy.

We boarded one of our high energy dogs for the first time ever for the past 5 days, and couldn’t be happier with our experience. Absolutely loved that they provided a trial day to make sure my pup was comfortable and to make sure she played nicely with the other dogs her size. I picked her up this morning, she was bathed and happy as could be! I highly recommend the Guyton Pet Lodge for boarding and/or play dates, we will definitely be returning clients!

Guyton Pet Lodge and their staff were super accommodating and flexible with us when we needed to board our dog last minute while I spent some time in the hospital having my baby. Russ and crew have been caring for my pets for almost 10 years. We drive 35 minutes to utilize his facility and it’s worth it. He has always treated our dogs like they are his own. My dog doesn’t mind going and is always in a good mood when she returns. They are the best!

Mr. Russ the owner and all his outstanding crew are the very BEST in taking care of your pet. I have been taking my dog every time we have to leave on emergencies or for fun and can’t take our dog with us.Now it’s been four years and our pet just love going there.We know he will be taking care of and never worry. I had to go out of town, our vet, recommended this place, it was the first time that we had to leave behind our dog. Guyton pet lodge made it comfortable to leave behind our fur baby. (110 lb) pitbull. They loved him but mostly he loved them.

I have been taking my dog here for 3 years now and will continue to do so. Absolutely love Russ and the Pet Lodge crew! They take great care of my girl. Even though I live 45 min away, I chose these guys over all of the places in Statesboro. The care is worth it! My dog has separation anxiety and loves to be around people. At the lodge, she always gets lots of attention and I know she's well taken care of.

People at work there were very friendly, my dog had meds he needs to take twice a day and they did so for 11 days. Doggies were happy there and I will be using this place going forward, just wish it was closer to home.

This place is horrible. Your dog will come home smelling awful. This place has had a history of awful animal care and the owner can be very rude. It is owned by the Mayor of Guyton which is also poorly ran by this guy. .. please, take your fur babies somewhere better.

My dog always enjoyed hanging out with her old lady crew during visits to Guyton Pet Lodge. I could always tell that Russ & the team took great care of her based upon how happy she was any time we dropped her off. The moment we brought her inside, she would run up to Russ with such joy it was like I didn't exist in that moment. Take your pets here and they will be well cared for.

Wanted to try a local spot for our boarding whenever our home sitter was unavailable. However they don’t offer drop off or pick up on Saturdays so you have to pay for an additional night even if you don’t need it which I find absolutely ridiculous. Shouldn’t someone be at the facility even on Saturdays to feed and take care of its guests? We’ve chosen other care because of this.

I love the folks here! More importantly my dogs love the folks here, and my dogs feel loved by the folks here. My dogs' tails start wagging when we turn onto the property. I always feel fine going on vacation, because the pooches enjoy their own vacation at the Pet Lodge. After days of off-leash supervised running, belly rubs, and, when safe, group play, they enjoy a spa day. I bring home clean and tired dogs. Despite all that, I decided to board one of my dogs at a place that was more geographically convenient. She obediently followed the stranger inside. 2nd visit, she didn't want to follow the caregivers to kennel. 3rd visit, she put on her brakes in the parking lot, and begged me with her puppy dog eyes not to go inside. At Guyton Pet Lodge she runs from the car and eagerly awaits for the door to be opened. I never again will deprive my dogs of the vacations they need!

They are amazing! Besides the fact they are always friendly with me they are also amazing with my dog. She is very shy and doesn't like most people sadly, but she loves the owner here. He has even been able to get her to come out of her shell and play with other dogs! I'm very thankful for the Guyton Pet Lodge.

Never an issue and with Travel ball and vacations we have used Pet Lodge a few times now. Gunnar is a big boy and they always handle him well. He gets super excited when we pull up to drop him off. Would definitely recommend, no issues on our end!

When I have to go out of town I always board my 3 dogs here. They love it and get to play with their fur friends. Very nice staff, clean, professional. I recommend them to everyone that is looking for boarding or doggy day care.

We tried Guyton Pet Lodge over the weekend for the first time with our 6 yr old boxer/bulldog mix and were SO pleased! I was worried about separation anxiety since we would be away for 2 nights but the staff gave us information and steps they would take if they noticed anything. This made me feel at ease! I would definitely recommend to family and friends!

This place is awesome if you need to kennel your furbaby. The rates are affordable and they will even bathe your pup for an extra, but very reasonable, fee. I left my pup for 5 days and never worried one bit. The staff is professional and caring. They even have a doggie daycare if you need to leave them for a few hours. Big thumbs up!!

We have always used Guyton Pet Lodge (Doggie Hotel as our children call it) whenever we go out of town. My dogs are like my children, so I was a little nervous the first couple of times that I left them. However, I know that my dogs love it there when they are jumping out of the car to run inside. The facility is very clean, and the owners are fabulous! The staff has always been friendly. We have been taking our dogs there for four years now, and will continue to do so because we can leave them knowing that our dogs are in good hands!
