The pottery is wonderful, with a long tradition behind it, but I will no longer visit. The rudeness and lack of courtesy shown by the proprietors has become unbearable. I now realize that they have little interest in selling what's on the property--I guess they must make enough money by the large orders they get to totally ignore and/or mistreat the walk-in customer.

Bought a terra cotta pumpkin luminaries over 20 years from a third party. I understand prices have gone up! I called and I spoke to an employee there and she was rude! She told me the prices of the terra cotta pumpkins. I misunderstood her thinking that the pumpkins were $15.00. She then told me very rudely they were $15.00 per gallon! My bad! Then she told me it was $75.00 to ship, etc., shipping expensive! I get it but Hewells you just lost a customer!!! The south is not a friendly place! Hewells, you should get with the 21st century and update your website and train your employees in customer relations! Sincerely, A Yankee!

Drove all the way from Newnan, Ga to come visit Hewell's Pottery. We arrived promptly at 8:15am to a closed gate. No visible signage to explain why the place was closed during their normal business operating hours. Double checked their sign with their posted schedule and called several times with no response. They don't even have a voicemail set up. Extremely disappointed customer!!! There were several lovely pots I would happily have taken home with me today. We come to boat on Lake Lanier, and this is the first time in two years we've made it early enough on a Saturday so we could visit this particular Pottery place, since they are also closed on Sunday. A huge waste of time.

Used to do wholesale business with Hewell's but in recent years the staff has gotten very rude and really could care less if you do business with them or not. We loved their product but not the treatment so I'm afraid they have lost another customer.

The lady acted disgusted that we arrived at 4:23 pm and the close at 5:00 pm. There were no other customers there the whole time and she was running around like crazy. If you have children DO NOT TAKE THEM, everywhere you look there is signage saying DO NOT TOUCH. The prices are outrageous, better prices at Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart.

Bought clay pots for house plants. Their pots are different shapes and I love them. Very affordable and beautiful. Enjoyed visiting with two of the Hewell's. Was surprised they still had some of Grace and Harold's work. Bought one of each of the old style fire kiln pottery. Will go back when I need garden pots again. These heritage families who make pottery are a national treasure.

Unique and durable heirloom handmade pottery that’s becoming a lost art. These pots patina really well, and they don’t break or crack in the winter like big box store pottery.We’ve been shopping here for years, and we look forward to meeting with the Hewells as part of the trip.

I love the terra cotta pots. Would happily drive an hour and a half to get more and support a local business. Homedepot, Lowe’s and hobby lobby use child labor for their cheap pots. Prices here are competitive with other local businesses.

Clearly wholesale which I didn't realize until the unfriendly woman running the register told me. I didn't feel welcome nor do I understand it's existence. There appears to be a store which I was not invited to enter. Don't bother unless you need a boring terracotta pot.

Rated 2 stars for selection of merchandise. Rated no stars for customer service. Had to chase someone down because they were hiding in one area. Then when I asked if they had something the response was 'what you see is we what we got!' Very poor service, I will never go back.

This used to be a very nice place to go and shop for pottery but, not anymore, I can find the same trash from china at other places closer to home, why drive 1 1/2 hours and burn a tank of gas.
