Cannot believe how lazy and inconsiderate the male cashier was today at the Colbert Ace Hardware. It was 15 minutes till closing when I arrived and attempted to find a plumbing item on my own before asking for help when I couldn't locate it. I went up to the register and asked the gentleman, an older hippie/biker type with bandana headband, if someone could help me.... he immediately said no, he was stuck at the register. I asked if there was someone else who was able to assist me... I was completely dumbfounded, “You mean there is no one in this store who can help me find what I’m looking for? I’m the only customer in the store.” He said "No, Ms. Beth and me are the only two here.”Fortunately, there was a young man with a cute puppy who said he would help. Found out he was an employee who came in for something and volunteered to assist me off the clock. This young man went out of his way to help and not be paid when a paid employee wasn’t willing to do anything but stand behind the register.All this cashier had to do was lock his drawer and walk a few isles down. He knew there were zero customers in the store. I heard him counting his drawer when I first went back to look. Why do people apply for customer service positions when they possess absolutely no customer service skills and have no desire to?Better yet, why isn’t the owner reading these reviews and correcting the issues?

Today's bad attitude by staff was the last straw. They are rude, plain and simple. Their apparent "policy" of not putting prices on items is completely unreasonable and they get a snappy attitude when you ask them why nothing in the store has a price on it. I mean, that's weird, and completely inconvenient. I've not been thrilled by this Ace before but after today, they've lost my business forever. In stark contrast, I recommend the Ace in Danielsville where the staff was friendly and helpful- a gentleman even carried an awkwardly sized purchase to my car for me.

Staff was rude and had a bit of a smart mouth. They also don’t know the price of they’re own product and will ask the customer to go back and find it and bring it to them. Cashier picked an argument with me over this. They lost my business for good l, I’ll take the extra time from own to drive to Home Depot or Lowes.

If I could put zero stars I would. Extremely rude staff that apparently don't know what they are doing. I ordered a Christmas gift that was online and supposedly in stock. Was told all merchandise was being taken to the Crawford ace hardware due to the fact they were closing the store. Went to Crawford and suprise nothing I ordered was there even though I had a confirmation for my order saying it was ready to be picked up. Staff at Crawford store said they had no idea that the colbert store was closing and that they have not received any merchandise from Colbert. I called Colbert about the issue and the man that answered the phone was extremely rude and snappy.He didn't even try to look for the item that I purchased. The two women that said the store was closing either lied out of convenience or just don't know what is going on. Will NEVER go to that store or do any buisness of any kind with them. What a disaster. Save yourself the trouble and go to Danielsville or Crawford.

No prices, super high mark up, only know prices at check out. Will only use as emergency situations, not recommended for any project bigger than a few screws or plumbing fittings. Worth savings to drive to Lowes or the like.

I placed an order online and picked it up here. They called me to let me know it was ready. It was $15 less at this store than in Athens. The employees are helpful--one carried my order out without me even asking. I really appreciate such great customer service!They have some unexpected items at the front--a whole case of jewelry. Also, there's a huge selection of gloves. I didn't get to look around more than that, but the store looks very well-organized and it was a pleasure shopping here.If you found this review helpful, please give it a thumbs up! Thanks!

I'm not an easy customer. They go out if their way to help make sure I get what I need when I need it.They have a young staff that are always smiling and seem genuine when it comes to helping me find what I need.I always check to see if they have what I need before heading into Athens. I'm glad they are here in town.

This was my first time at this store and let me just say that they provided me the best customer service ever. I purchased a lawnmower, they delivered it the next day and even treated me like family..now top that. I thank them for this awesome experience and I will definitely be back soon!

Had a bad experience with the lawn mower department. The woman behind the counter was rude and acted like she really didn't want to help me. Got the work done.They called right before they closed so I had to rush over to pick up my thing. Got home and the work was shoddy. So it's better if I take my business somewhere else where they actually care and do good work.

The people in the lawnmower shop are pretty knowledgeable and usually know exactly what I need. But the parts are pretty pricey. I just paid $50 for a lawnmower belt. When I got home I was able to find the same part number for about $15 on Amazon. Possibly the Amazon belt is less durable but I will be willing to give it a shot next time.

First off this is my first review ever of any business given. I am a big believer and supporter for small town local businesses, however on the contrary I also expect a small local town hospitality. The ace hardware in Colbert gives that until you need anything for a lawn mower and have to do business with a very rude lady that works in this department. I have now been to this ace hardware 5-6 times while receiving such a customer friendly atmosphere every time only before reaching this department. Thank you to all the other associates at this ace hardware just wish the service you give would rub off on this associate!

They are usually very helpful when I shop there. They carry everything you would expect to find in a hardware store and then some. They also carry many lawn and garden supplies with seasonal flowers and vegetable plants and seeds. I have found many other fun and interesting things for Dale such as area produced honey, birdhouses, UGA embossed products, and holiday decorations. Great store to have nearby!

I recently went to the Ace hardware in Colbert to buy a tape measure the barcode on the tape measure and the price sticker on the shelf where the same numbers it stated it was $17.99 but when I get to the register they want to charge me $21 so I brought up that I took a photo of it but yet they couldn't change it in the system due to something I Don't know only place that I know that can't change the price if you can prove to him that it's a different price so I would not recommend shopping at this place cuz it's a rip-off

A good place to get chains for your chain saw sharpened but it is a terrible place to have your tools like lawn mowers chain saws and weed eatters ect.repaired or buying small engine parts THEY WILL BURN YOUR POCKET BOOK UP&SELL YOU PARTS YOU DON'T REALLY NEED IN STEAD OF JUST FIXING SOMETHING WITH PARTS THAT ARE BAD. THEY WANTED 194.00 TO FIX MY CHAINSAW I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER ACE GOT IT FIXED AND A NEW CHAIN FOR 72.0+. THATS WHAT I TALKING ABOUT..!!!!
