First time here—server was very helpful walking through the numerous options. Custard with mix-ins was a refreshing treat. Hawaiian shaved ice was on par with Maui quality.Only caution is eating outside at picnic tables, insects were very aggressive on biting the legs.

The most phenomenal frozen custard of Sanibel/Captiva Island! My family and I were vacationing in Florida after Christmas, this was a great pit-stop for a quick treat after having dinner at the Mucky Duck. When entering the restaurant, it’s very open and welcoming. The employees are energetic and kind. I found it difficult at first when trying to find where the flavors were: make sure to read the instructions on how to order on each board, the custard options are very customizable.

Absolutely delicious frozen custard! They have a great menu showing their island favorites but you can also build your own “shackit” by choosing however many toppings. They also had shakes, floats, cookie sandwiches, and even a fridge to take something home for later. The staff were all super friendly too. Some of the best tasting frozen custard I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to come back.

A very nice little frozen custard shop right on Periwinkle in Sanibel. The flavor of the day today was Buckeye but we were told they had just run out of it. The girl behind the counter made more for us though. It was rich, creamy, and delicious. The shop is small with limited seating inside, a few more tables outside, and from what we could tell, a lot of people taking their frozen custards with them to go

Great place to stop for a sandwich and ice cream. The ladies inside were very friendly and we loved their pulled chicken sandwich followed by an ice cream cone. We really loved all of the toppings in the ice cream! Very dog friendly, our 4 month old Golden Retriever puppy Daisy loved her ice cream. We can’t wait to watch her grow with the Shackee grow chart outside on our next visit.

We have been coming to Sanibel for several years but had never been to The Shack until this year. We are so happy we finally went (every other day during our stay haha). The flavors of the day were fun and we loved dreamsicle (or was it creamsicle?) chip and buckeye. The staff is cheerful and friendly, and we really enjoyed chatting with them. Can't wait to go back next time!Also, thanks for taking care of law enforcement! 🖤💙🖤

First time visiting this establishment. The ice cream was wonderful, the service was not. The young lady who took our order was put out that I changed my order size. Very curt with my older guest. I paid and stepped back. When called to pick up order she tells me my card didn’t go through so I used a different credit card. After I pulled out my card she said she accidentally made me pay again for someone else’s order. Then couldn’t figure out how to refund me. She had someone else try to help me (who was very nice) but she jumped on the next register to help someone else and couldn’t look at me. I now have to go back tomorrow to get it sorted out. Mistakes happed but could have been handled differently.

I only regret not finding The Shack sooner during our stay on Sanibel. The MOST AMAZING frozen custard. They give samples upon arrival, have wonderful add-ins, and are such a sweet crew! (If you’re questioning whether or not you’ll love the sand dollar cookie sandwiches, question no more. They were PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!! I didn’t even have time to take a photo before it was gone!)

Delicious!The Shack ofSanibel offers samples, after, I enjoyed a chocolate cup of hand scooped ice cream. Custard and exciting combo shakes are also available. The variety of flavors is sure to please every member of your group even your pup!The grounds are very inviting and clean with limited indoor seating and plenty of outdoor tables with shady umbrellas.Located on Periwinkle Way near the Donax intersection makes this a convenient location. They also have ample parking for bicycles.A must stop location for a tasty treat while visiting Sanibel Island.

The staff was great. Our first time there and wow. The staff was super polite. The frozen custard was the best I've ever had (we're from St. Louis and Ted Drew's is our frozen custard go to. We'll the Shack is way better). You definitely have to give it a try. You won't be disappointed. I guarantee it.

Absolutely delicious ice cream that’s a great way to celebrate the end of your vacation or day of fun on the beaches. Very reasonable pricing with lots of parking and outdoor seating. Ordered the ice cream sundae with a brownie, ice cream, fudge sauce, whipped cream and a cherry on top.

My son only ever gets vanilla.The owner came out and offered a sample of their special, I believe it was called the Sea Turtle... well my kid got the special that day and tried something different.Super nice guy, as well as the employees. I stopped here for the first time and I’m already looking forward to coming back! My family and I were greeted with vanilla custard samples, which was so creamy! I love how there’s a flavor of the day. The staff were so friendly and gave great recommendations! The Cookie Monster flavor is SO GOOD!

I’ve never been one to crave ice cream, but the custard The Shack dishes up is absolutely delicious. The Flavor of the Day adds to the fun, and everyone who works there is super friendly. We make frequent family trips there and even ordered an ice cream cake from them for my daughter’s birthday. Highly, highly recommend!They were also one of the first businesses to re-open after Hurricane Ian, and they offered hot lunches and free ice cream to residents and everyone working on island recovery. They also frequently donate ice cream to island events, such as the community holiday event at the rec center.

Local custard (or really creamy ice cream) with some excellent service and flavors. They have a variety of flavors and toppings including a flavor of the day for every day of the month. I got the shack attack which was really good if you like peanut butter. Would very much recommend.

This was my first time at The Shack. We were given a run down on how ordering the frozen custard works and the flavor of the day, which was mint chip with oreo. The gentleman gave us samples of the plain custard and the flavor of the day. So yummy!! I will be visiting again and again! They have a calendar for their "flavor of the day," so I will be returning to try the Gooey Butter Cake ice cream!!
