First time here & they did such an amazing job that I already rebooked for another appointment! The staff is super friendly & attentive! I have never, in 8 years of having him bathed, seen my dog look so good; shiny coat, smells great & no more shedding!! If you’re booking here, I would definitely pay the extra $20 to have the deluxe package which includes a berry facial! The prices were the best! Thanks so much for such a great spa day for Boston, he loved it!

Today was my 2nd and last visit to Animal Luvrs for grooming of my F2b Goldendoodle. First time, he was very young. Went in to book an appointment along with my doodle and my husband, who the owner (Andrea?) was friendly to and said she knew him in the past. She came around the counter to inspect my doodle with a disapproving look and stuck her fingers in the thick curls around his rump, then said “Oh jeez…he’s REALLY matted!” He had ZERO mats, he’s just very curly. I said that out loud and the groomer, who overheard, came around the counter to check him out herself. She said “No, he’s not MATTED! He’s just curly. Thats his puppy coat. He’s beautiful! I can groom him just fine.” So, despite the rudeness and ignorance of the owner, I went ahead and booked the appointment because the groomer (wish I could remember her name) was very kind and sweet towards my pup. They ended up doing just a “face, fanny, feet” grooming and I was pleased with the work.Fast forward to today, 7 months later. I have groomed my pup myself several times with ease (#3 guard). I bathe him weekly and comb him every few days. I hadn’t had time to book an appointment due to being out of town a lot these past several months, but I wanted him professionally groomed before his neutering surgery later this week. I had to call twice to get an appointment. During the first call (I think his name was David) he said he didn’t think they could get me in before the 18th. I said ok, then please book me for about 5 weeks out and I’ll just do it myself before the surgery. He said he’d check with the groomer to see if maybe they could squeeze me in and call me back, but then never called me back. I called a few days later and was told they had a cancellation on the 16th and could fit me in.As soon as I walked in, the owner came up to my doodle and I and it was like Deja vu. Same disapproving look, same fingers in the rump fur, same dramatic exclamations about how “matted” he was. Again, I protested that he was NOT matted, just an F2b and with very dense curls. She went on about how they would have to brush him out by hand (duh…isn’t that part of grooming?) and how hard it was going to be and at that point I stopped her and said “This is exactly what you did to me last time and your own groomer stood right there and told you he wasn’t matted and it was just his curly coat.” The owner ignored this and kept saying she needed to “show me” with a comb. Lady, I comb my dog several times a week! I know how a comb goes through his curls. They fluff up and he doesn’t even flinch. I also know what REAL mats are, because I have fostered and groomed 19 mini schnauzers in the past, all of whom came to me from a rescue organization and were covered in mats. I told her I wasn’t going to go through this drama and argument with her every time, to which she snapped “then maybe you just don’t need to come here.” Finally, we agree on something!! I took my dog and left immediately.I’m not sure if she is ignorant of the nature and texture of the F2b goldendoodle coat or if she is just trying to jack up the price by claiming my dog is matted. Regardless, I’ve made an appointment with another local shop and am expecting a more pleasant experience, though unfortunately I’ll now have to wait until 2 weeks after the surgery.I’m adding pics I took of my dog and his curly butt as soon as I got home, and I’m also including a picture I found on the internet of REAL fur mats (white fur picture) so the owner can understand the difference. Her groomer gets it, but she doesn’t! I’d leave 1 star if it was just for the owner and her ridiculous attitude, but because the groomer was knowledgeable and friendly, I bumped it up to 2 stars. (Side note: my HUSBAND’s dog, a shih tzu he inherited from his late mother, who DID have mats and eye boogers and overgrown nails because my husband does NOT pay careful attention to his care, garnered no such negative reception from the owner when brought in on the first visit. Strange.)

Spending the winter inPunta Gorda, we made our first visit to AnimalLuvrs to have our Westie, Zoe, groomed. Lisa did an excellent job and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely return before we leave for home in April. Thanks!

Wonderful staff that genuinely cares about your pet. They won't sell products that they think might harm your dog or cat. Always love going in for dog food, everyone is always friendly!

Disappointed again, not going backHave 3 dogs, been going here awhile, last two times I asked for baths only and specifically told the groomers (they were with 3 groomers) two of my dogs were either shaved or hair was cut! The first time I let them know but the second time is exasperating! I can't understand how this could happen. One of the groomers specifically said 'oh no I won't shave him and I'll call first if I need to trim him." She shaved him! And this happened last time and was documented on their history. They had offered a 10% discount.I know their fur was not matted because I combed through it! I also told her that. One of my three dogs turned out great so they do have one good groomer there but I'm not willing to risk getting the others, who do exactly what I ask them not to do! This started out as a good experience but now I'm not going back again.

I absolutely love this place! They have an amazing selection of food, they have a trained Vet Assistant employee, the groomers do amazing jobs and are highly empathetic to the dogs. You can tell it is a good atmosphere here!

Went in today to look for turtle food. Said hello to the girl sitting at the counter. No response. She was head down buried in her phone. Look around for a few minutes with my daughter. My husband came in, I told him that I wasn't able to find the turtle food. Not even a flinch from the girl still buried in her phone. The three of us left, I said have a good day, still nothing. I don't think she even knew we were there. The turtle food wasn't a major for me. Customer service is though, we won't be back.

Groomers are excellent. Our fur babies look awesome. Only issue is it did take a long time. tried calling but no one answered phones. I thought the pricing was little high but I did call around and the prices are typical to this area. We will bring our babies back again. They did a great job. The staff is very nice and caring.

The groomers do a good job; however the length of time that they have the dogs is ridiculous. I have brought both my dogs there for years but it has changed. 4+ hours for a 9 lb Maltese and the same for a senior shih tzu. They do not answer the phone. They will call you back at their convenience if you leave a message. I will no longer shop at this store and I will not use their grooming services. Too bad - it used to be a great place under old management

It's been a while since I've had my dog groomed here because they were booked up. I believe Northern Visitors were in town. I have been to a few other places for grooming and find that the prices are about the same each place. They did a good job grooming my dog. She looked really cute. We spend more on her hair than on ourselves. She even has better clothes. Overall I would recommend this place for grooming. I've never really checked out the retail store but I think they sell specialty dog and cat food.

We had our dog groomed here for the first time yesterday & were so impressed with everything about this business. The groomer took time to ask questions about our dog & to really understand what we were looking for with her grooming. She explained she would take her time to make sure our dog was comfortable (very nervous rescue). We could not be more pleased! Excellent result & our dog looks fantastic! I would definitely recommend this business!

Liked the groomer, did not care much for front desk person. Arrived 10 minutes earlier for grooming. The door was open; woman did not let me 8n. Rude...I could have waited inside. Probably would've bought something for my puppy. Not coming back

This place is AMAZING! Kona (my dog) and I absolutely love it here! The ladies all take such good care of her when I visit. Nails, cleaning, grooming, whatever you need, its a one stop shop! The groomers are awesome!They know how to groom your breed. First time we have been to a vet or groomers that trimmed nails properly without leaving them sharp. Our fur babies look fantastic and smell good. Best of all they offer in and out services for an up charge. Perfect location for Punta Gorda residents. We highly recommend.

NEVER AGAIN!!!As is my practice for all appointments, I arrived at Animal Luvrs 20 minutes early for a 9:00 AM dog grooming appointment to allow time to take care of any preliminary business. Trying the door to the shop at 8:40 A.M. I found it locked while observing at least two people moving about within. After waiting on the sidewalk for five minutes holding my dog in my arms in full view of the shop attendants I knocked and was ignored until a young woman slowly responded after arranging her coffee and a water bottle on the cashier’s counter. She told me that despite my having made an appointment the shop did not open until 9:00 AM and that I would have to wait until then to leave my dog. I then advised her that we had always dropped the dog off 15-20 minutes early and that we had not been informed when we made the appointment that I could not do so in this instance. I further told her that I had a medical appointment in Sarasota some 50 miles distant at 10:00 A.M. which based on past experience I could have easily made if it were not for her obdurate refusal to comply with the norm. After telling me in so many words that she was not responsible for my problems she retreated back into the shop and locked the door. Several minutes later she reopened the door at which time I made it clear to her that I considered her lack of consideration and responsiveness to the needs of a customer to be extremely rude and unbusinesslike. At that point an older, woman who I took to be the groomer came out of the back and joined the conversation by repeating the same defensive clap-trap that I had heard from the younger woman. Somewhat irked I questioned the necessity for her to make a 77 y.o. man wait on a sidewalk holding a dog in his arms for 15+ minutes while it was completely within her power to remedy situation. She then pointed to the clock on the wall and said it that hadn’t been fifteen minutes. I then pointed out to her that unless I had entered another time zone her clock was 5 minutes slow which it indeed was. The younger girl responded with “that’s the clock we go by” while the older women told me I was being rude. Thoroughly disgusted, I said no more and left with the intention of never again dealing with these unprofessional snowflakes who demand every consideration but give none. (On another occasion after being told that our dog was ready for pick my wife was made to wait over 30 minutes after arriving at the shop before our dog was given to her.)

I would give them 10 stars if I could. The owners and staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. We get out two mini-aussies groomed there and they do a fantastic job, every time. We are there every week getting our dog and cat food & supplies. They sell the top of the line products, not the cheap stuff like at the big chain pet stores. It is definitely worth a visit to check them out. You won't be disappointed.

I truly enjoy comming to get my pet supplies here I love the one on one and if they don't have what you need they will call you when it comes in! A very warm welcome when you walk in the door. They also are very accommodating on grooming your pet down to trimming there nails! :)
