It's OK. Some of the help have attitudes, some dont.. the old farts are pretty cranky all the time. The younger workers are better for asking questions.. the old farts always have something smart to say..

Nice little Hardware store with decent prices. This store is handy because it has a lot of different supplies and is right in Lake Placid. I shop there often and they have always been professional and friendly 👍 you should definitely check them out.

Every time I go in here, the Manager asks if my Wife and I need help and ends up being rude and condescending throughout the whole process. If I say no he still finds a way to lighten up my day. Never seen someone look down on you just for walking in their store. One point before we were looking for a connector piece and he laughed cause my wife didn’t know the exact measurement (keep in mind he asked to assist we were in for something else just shopping a side project because it was there). Today I walked in and he talked to me like Im a degenerate AGAIN, went straight to talking to another customer like they were an upstanding citizen. My Wife and I got to checkout and the lady stared at my Wifes tattoos and wouldn’t even speak to us other than “wait” and “bye”. Im a new homeowner here and Id rather take the drive to Sebring if this is how customers with a different look are treated. Im a quiet shopper and dont ask any questions unless I absolutely have to and this happens every time I walk in, take what you want from this review. Thank you for reading.

Pros:-Great staff, very friendly and knowledgeable.-A little bit of everything.- Good hours. Even open on Sunday. Rare for a Lake Placid Business.Cons:- Make sure you have a receipt. Don't return anything you don't have to. Attitudes seems to darken if you have to make a return.Overall: 5 stars because while Robert really looks down on returns, He along with everyone in the store are still very friendly and knowledgeable. They really seem to care about your issues and will help any way they can. Go say hi, its worth it.

A few months back, i needed a gallon of paint. They just happened to have the color that i needed already mixed in the manager's special "oops" paint section. The owner of the store had it mixed for his own home, then brought it back because he "didnt like the color". I bought it at a discounted price. It had the consistancy of mayonaise so I brought it back the next day and got a refund. No problem. I must add that im a regular customer there pretty much every day, sometimes multiple times per day. Not anymore. I went in there today to get a gallon of paint and was informed that Robert, the manager , has instructed his employees to not sell me paint anymore. Ill be going to W&W for now on.

When we shop we usually ask if the store has a military discount. The cashier asked for branch of service and last four. The cashier says “If you get captured you give that information.” Okay buddy, we’re not being captured and not on a war field. The discount isn’t that serious, keep it.As we were walking away he’s laughing at us. That is very unprofessional and made me feel degraded.Needless to say, we regret any business and wouldn’t be stepping back into that store again.

I got to the store 5 minutes before the closing time. The employee watching me walk to the doors and locks it I knock on the door and two employees completely ignore me being there. I used to think this store was great and convenient but with this experience I will take my business else where I'd understand if it were 7pm or after 7pm but I was still within store hours.

Decent selection although the prices are maybe a bit higher than you would find elsewhere. It is owned by the current mayor of lake placid so it is nice to support local people and business.

Great hardware store to save a drive to Sebring. Had a full selection of pretty much anything you would need. Paint mixing area, plenty of lumber and a huge selection of hardware and fasteners.

Very nice people to do business with have a lot of things. It will cost you a little more than in the box stores but help and customer service more than makes up for the added price which is very little, price that is.
