I took my cat here today to get neutered, and when I went to pick him up they gave him to me literally laying in and soaking in his own urine, I dropped him off at 830 so there’s absolutely no telling how long he has been sitting there in his own pee. There’s absolutely no way they didn’t notice, because the smell is breathtaking and I’m not supposed to even give him a bath for two weeks so he can heal so now I’m stuck trying to figure out how I’m supposed to clean my poor kitty. I’m so disappointed because I trusted he’d be taken care of and in safe hands but apparently not because there is absolutely no excuse as to why my cat was handed back to me coated in his own pee. I’m disgusted that no one did anything to help him, they just let him sit like that.

Horrible experience!! A certain vet refused to euthanize our poor elderly, recently amputated suffering dog who was literally dying! I would have given a great review a few weeks ago. Dr Steele was literally the only one who seemed to truly care. We are truly heartbroken for the care received recently by a vet Dr B (they won’t give me her last name after 5+ requests). Not a humane society as claimed!!! As a family we suffered days longer than anticipated witnessing our dog in severe pain & discomfort! I give many thanks to Ft Caroline animal clinic for assisting us with our dog’s transition to heaven ❤️

Took my dog in today which I understood I was a walk in but after being there for almost 5 hours I was told I had to come back another day because tests would take too long. The vet on duty lacked compassion and the staff at the desk with the exception of one lady who helped me in the end acted as if they were inconvenienced by clients in the building and were acting very unprofessional. This place was only $24 cheaper than the 2nd vet I had to go to because my dog had another seizure after we got home from First Coast No More Homeless pets with no answers, and the other vet gave my dog same day in office testing and we had results within less than an hour. Please do not offer walk ins if you cannot fulfill thorough testing and treatments. Also if you have a walk in be courteous enough to tell someone waiting the staff had to go on lunch instead of just sitting there saying nothing.

📌 I called them to find help with a sick feral female who stopped eating and is sneezing all the time. It is most likely an upper respiratory virus and needs meds. Lysine is not working. Her eyes look horrible (See photo) This is allegedly the goto place for helping cats out. Everyone is referring to them.I call and explained her poor health and wanted to see what I can do.The employee that took the call says "We are all booked up."They then proceeeded to refer me to another place - that won't take her in to look at her for another week. If she lasts this long.📌 Save yourself some time keep scrolling elsewhere. There isn't help for sick ferals here right now. They are full.

5/5/24 I was literally one of 2 people there they wouldn't see my dog for an ear infection. Went on to say something about low income and that they could give me a list of other low income veterinarians. Or i could come back on a weekday. Basically your poor so your dog has to suffer. I had the money if they would have just said we'll see your dog if you have X amount of dollars I would have given the money! Karma is a Bad B though.

The only reason I am posting one bad thing about nmhp is because I just got my pretty girl(my dog) creamated there and I was treated with the upmost disrespect by making me wait outside in the parking lot with my dead baby girl. It was outrageous and so was I. They simply go through another company and these people will pick your dog up from your house to have then cremated. Crevasse's Simple Cremation-Jacksonville in every other aspect of the place is great but that was disrespectful not to me at a horrible moment in mine and my dogs life but disrespectful to my dog!!!!!UPDATE- FCNMHPdid make things right for my pretty girl. When I went to go pick up her ashes they had ordered a beautiful box to put her ashes in and also had her name on it. So a b it thanks for correcting a mistake FCNMHP. We appreciate it so very much and it meant everything!

Since I was tight on funds, I had to come here for my kitty to be seen. Everyone was really nice except for the veterinarian. He seemed so uncaring. He suggested I put my cat down because of her condition, which, I accepted and said I wanted to be present for everything. He denied allowing me to be present saying that they're pressed for time. He said I could do it a different day, but why would I want my kitty to suffer longer than she already has been? I waited about an hour over my 'appointment' time because I was a walk in and you're saying I can't even be there for my cat to transition over cause your pressed for time? Needless to say, She was put down and the nurse that was there was much more caring. She made sure to keep my baby comfortable while she gained her wings. Thank you.

While the appeal of low cost is there, it is not worth the risk to your pet.I am fostering a pup so I wonder if they thought she was just going back to a kennel and not an actual person. She had her spay Monday. There is no way that she was ready to come home by 2 (the place opens at 8) after a spay but they sure sent her back. When I got her she was heavily heavily sedated still which is so dangerous. No pre surgical bloodwork is ran to ensure there is no underlying issue. There was no iv placed to give her fluids or proper sedation during the procedure. She came home with no pain meds, antibiotics, or even discharge paper work. She had vomit in her cone and feces on her legs that was dried and stuck to her. I was able to take the cone off and put her in a surgery suit thankfully. I was able to gently wipe her legs down since they can’t be bathed while healing.I called and they wouldn’t place an order for pain meds through chewy or anyone else. They stated I had to come down to get them. Mind you it was now 430 and I wouldn’t make it before they closed at 6.I stayed up all night to make sure she was okay because I was so concerned. I worked in an animal hospital for four years. This is not at all how things should be done. She is back to her normal self thank goodness but it needs to be known how they treat animals, especially ones they think aren’t going to homes. This is a factory. Get in get out and get money. Go elsewhere.

Frustrating driving all the way out there to learn that they don't accept intakes on Sundays. The front desk was very slow, and they didn't have the option for me to leave the cat behind because they "don't offer boarding," even though they hold the cats 3 days post surgery. Wish they had a better system in place for people tnr-ing on their own, not with a larger organization.

I brought my first dog in 11/2/23 to get spayed and everything went well!! I decided to bring my other dog in 11/16/23 to get neutered and I was told when picking him up that he had fleas. Now I’m having to deal with not just one dog both of my dogs with fleas. I understand there no control when others bring the dogs in with fleas. But if my first dog didn’t have fleas… then my second dog gets fleas. And brings them home. The vet paper work said they recommend buying the flea pill. Seems like they just wanted me to spend more money.

I brought my kitten and dog in for a couple of vaccines, to get my dog an oral assessment for an oral cleaning (which you have to get before you can schedule an oral cleaning), and because the kitten has been having loose, smelling poops.Vaccines went fine and I guess during that time they also got blood for the heartworm test but I didn't see them do that while I was holding my dog. They did a visual inspection on the fecal test which I could have already told them there aren't any obvious signs in their poop but they don't do a microscope test so even though they confirmed the kittens poop wasn't normal they told me it was - I had to ask for meds to treat whatever is causing the diarrhea! And then the doctor left before that could get approved and didn't do any sort of exam on either of them and never checked my dogs mouth. Also, I was there for two hours and even the girl checking me out said "Oof" about how long I was there. If you just need the bare minimum vaccines this place is fine I guess but don't ask for anything extra.

FCNMHP took amazing care of our Tank when it was time to get him neutered. It took about a month to get scheduled, which is understandable considering what a huge discount compared to private practice veterinarians offer. Tank is a 48lb pitbull mix and it cost $85 to get him neutered, $10 for 3 days of medication, and $8 for the cone of shame. We dropped him off at 7 and picked him up at 3:30. He was a little grumpy but we kept him isolated from our other pups for a day and by day 2 he was back to his lovable, playful self! The wound is healing well and he has had no side effects from being kenneled.

If I could give zero stars, I would the customer service that I just experience was horrible. I have previously dropped off cats in my neighborhood to get fixed and it has never been a problem but today I’m not sure what was going on with the young lady at the desk. She has brown hair with teal ends and she was very rude and very disrespectful and nasty, I don’t think I would ever come back here again just because of her if she still employed.

Thank god for this place ❤️ In three years we've successfully adopted four animals into our home, and have been able to afford quality veterinary care for all of our fur babies by utilizing the services provided here at First Coast No More Homeless Pets🐱 Spay/Neuter, routine medical services and emergency medical care all provided without breaking the bank. These people are angels, thanks so very much for helping our family out ❤️

I’m so disgusted and tired I can’t write out all of the awful experiences I’ve had here, I will not sleep tonight because a cat I took there for neuter and antibiotics was put under while he was sick and then refused antibiotics and insisted he wasn’t sick. 24 hours later this cat is making terrible coughing noises and won’t eat. I can’t afford an emergency vet so will be taking him to a different walk in clinic as soon as they open. If you want more than just a simple neuter DO NOT USE THiS VET.If the animal is not 100% healthy when you come in for neuter DO NOT USE this vet. If you want extra services during neuter like nail trim, vaccination, flea meds, dewormer, etc. you will pay for whatever you ask them to do, but it’s very possible they will NOT do it. Felv/Fiv testing DO NOT TRUST that this test was actually performed or vaccinations given. This place is disorganized, dirty, and the staff will tell you completely different things depending on who you talk to. If you want your pet to be well cared for and alive when you go to pick them up, do not use this vet. The cat I took before this one was put under for X-rays and “had complications” when they woke her up. They could not help her so told me they had to put her down. This place is the stuff of nightmares for you and your pet.

The customer service on this day left a little bit to be desired. Fact I would take it a step further and say the customer service on this day was actually horrible. I came in for a trifexis refill and was told to wait in the line. While standing in line four people were allowed to pass me over to me a deadline for the clinic. Perhaps those people should have arrived any more timely manner as I did. After standing in line for more than 20 minutes a patriot walked in seeking the same service as I had and it was seen immediately instead of being directed to the line. My explanation given as to why I was scared was because they did not see me. Even if you did not see me standing in the front of the line. you have to at least remember directing me to the line or at least know the purpose for my visit

I brought my little dog in for an injured back leg and I will never go back dr. Horton done an exray and told me she had a friend dr. Steel who she was going to consult about a broken bone in his foot finally a technician called back Friday, long story short dr. Horton never returned my call. This experience was totally un professional I won't be back, my little dog is still hurt.

The facility is quite nice and brand new. The people are very friendly and helpful. Also, the prices were drastically lower than places like Tinseltown.Unfortunately, I took my greyhound in for a teeth cleaning and now she's dead. She was older, though not rickety. She ran laps around the yard in the morning and jumped into the truck to go to the appointment. She hadn't been having any serious issues, though she had been treated for a kidney infection a month prior. I notified the staff of that treatment.I believe they did not know how to treat greyhounds properly due to their low body-fat. I am not certain, but my supposition is that they incorrectly administered standard anesthesia accompanied by only 60% of the recommended IV fluids. This resulted in a heart attack according to the doctor. In addition to my dog dying, one of the staff seemed completely incompetent. Not stupid, just - not competent. I'm a semi-unique customer (I had four dogs and on my first visit and she brought other staff out to see the spectacle, then even serviced us as our vet tech). On my second visit (with the same four dogs), she didn't remember us at all and even asked us again what kind of dogs I had. With that in mind, I also question their professional staff hiring practices.I doubt many people will have this experience, but it is my story and FCNMHP broke my heart.

WE LOVE FCNMHP!!! I have been coming here for years with all of my furry family members and their wonderful team has always taken such great care of them!My 4 1/2 year old miniature dachshund, Doodles, has never been scared or anxious when he goes for visits and enjoys getting all kinds of love & attention! My cats have both been taken care of here as well.I also, recently adopted a dog that someone dumped on the side of the road, who was on death's doorstep and sick with Parvo, & I don't know what I would have done without them. Within no time, my sweet Wylie was healthy and back to being the silly fun-lovin' horse-sized puppy he should be!I was able to split the parvo treatment plan into 3 payments over the course of his 3 consecutive day treatments and he did not have to be held within the facility. I brought him in each day at my own choice of time to be treated. We always have nothing short of a fantastic experience anytime we have come in! Thank you FCNMHP Staff!!!

After calling for 2 months a couple times a week, a very nice lady by the name of Taylor was so nice and very helpful. Taylor’s customer service was definitely hands down the best I’ve ever experienced over the phone. Taylor thank you for caring about your job.

Let me add everyone rude to me was white Anglo-saxon CAUCASIAN since the review underneath wants to be racists lol...#1 They do not give any free services or any discounts based on income. I spent hundreds, was upsold, was then given a supervisors number and told I can return some things (30+ drive each way). People recommend them but they never asked to see any income to base the discounts on. I asked about a stray, could I bring her to please get help. I was even willing to take the dog in and foster here the remainder of my time here. Nope. America man smh, if they can't make money off you they do not care.I called Animal Care and ControlPhysically took the dog to the humane society911 & Animal control. NOWHERE WOULD HELP.... IS THIS NOT WHAT YOUR BUSINESS IS LITERALLY FOR?Jacksonville is one of the poorest (mindset and people's lifestyle) places I've ever seen. Everywhere is under staffed, they're polite for the first sentence or 2 then you get the real mood of everyone. How does a city of 1 million people not have any services for animals except for spaying them? Yea dystopia zombie country living with way too many businesses that are all run poorly. Seriously. Bless everyone trying here in this city. I pray you make it out.

I wanted to post that after reading almost 100 reviews I’m both grateful for and so sorry for some of the people and their horrific experiences here. I’m grateful because I will avoid this like the plague. My animals are family to us not tools to bark in the yard and I won’t have them treated that way. I was so saddened to read the negative reviews they brought me to tears, how this place is still in business is beyond me.

The staff here at front desk seem to be highly stressed and rude to customers. Get new staff they are horrible . I can imagine what the animals go through having staff with serious attitude even toward customers that come in . There was not 1 I seen that showed any compassion in what they do . Management please fix the problem ASAP !

I used to do fostering and took all 12+ litters of kittens to be spayed and neutered here along with over 30 feral cats from a colony. I also have my own two adult cats and a dog who I take yearly for their booster shots. We usually see Dr. Claxton and she is awesome, she's incredibly caring and thorough. First Coast No More Homeless Pets is a godsend when you're fostering or are a low income family. Without them, it would have been literally impossible for me to freelance foster animals or even afford my own animals boosters/preventative medications. I will agree the wait both in person and on the phone is absolutely absurd, but well worth the time if you're a low income individual with pets.

OK, so if you go to talk to somebody and you’re yelling (to your dad), not even at the person on the phone, and you have disability, don’t even worry about calling this place because they will hang up on you. But I had a question if somebody that is not going to hang up on me, if you can answer that would be great. I have three dogs, I am on full disability, can I go out there before I make an appointment for all three of my dogs and see if my dad is available to get credit so we don’t have to pay over $400 for all docs? Can someone please answer my question? I was hoping that the rude African-American lady that answered my phone could’ve waited on the phone for me and dad to come up with this question, but apparently she’s having a worse time than me. That’s great. Maybe you shouldn’t work in customer service.

We rescued a stray cat. Came to this facility because of proximity and affordability. We already have other animals. We went there approximately 3 times questioning the drainage coming from his eyes. Every time I was told it was allergies. Well it wasn’t. The cat has an eye infection and now an upper respiratory infection. The respiratory infection most likely started as a virus however this “facility” continued undiagnosed or misdiagnosed him and now our other cats are showing viral symptoms. This facility is not efficient, effective, compassionate or semi helpful. I wouldn’t even bring a terminal animal here for euthanasia, they’ll probably be so unconcerned that they’ll even make that more painful than it has to be for the animal because they give 0 cares about the owners. The other location on Cassat was wonderful. The staff is helpful, accessible, did the testing, provided a proper diagnosis and medication while being friendly. Cassat convinced me that I’m not against First Coast No More Homeless Pets just the Norwood location which really needs management.

I took two feral male cats here and I was expecting to see a giant bill. But the people who work here are very generous and they care about all animals. They called me if there was a problem and they called when I was able to pick the feral cats up. The feral cats are doing so well and I am so happy that I took them here. Wonderful job to these outstanding people. I'll be bringing a Mama and her litter to get spayed and neutered. Definitely a place to call on and no problems with anything. Thank you for all your help and support.

FCNMHP is the best place in Jax for veterinary care! They found the cause of my senior dog's problem and put her on the road to recovery. She's thriving again!

This is specifically for the spay & neuter clinic. I was really frustrated and concerned when I picked my cat up from her spay appointment. She came out wide awake and without an E-collar, despite me being charged for it. I also paid for a nail trim which they did not do! Because my cat wasn’t on any meds to keep her woozy or loopy, she was wide awake and active once we got home. Despite keeping her in my small bathroom, with a new cone on, her incision got irritated. I took her to an emergency vet 3 days after her surgery. (not affiliated with FCNMHP). The antibiotic they gave us didn’t sit well with her, so I decided to walk in to the Cassat location. They gave her an antibiotic injection- only to get worse and have to return back to FCNMHP Cassat 3 days after. They then perscribed another oral antibiotic- making her 3rd antibiotic of the week. She is 4 months old. I was frustrated by the fact that they told me her incision site opened, yet they didn’t glue it or do anything to solve it. This antibiotic did not sit well with her either- not surprising at this point. I was also frustrated because they could’ve given her something topical… I had an appointment a few days later at a different vet for my other cat. I brought her with me. They glued her incision site… and gave us topical antibiotics… I’m extremely frustrated with FCNMHP and how they did not do this the first time around. I went to the vet 5 times in one week. This should not have happened. I am very disappointed with the amount of stress and money endured during this week that could have been resolved easily. I do not blame her incision opening on the vet, but I do think it could’ve been handled differently.
