An excellent museum that showcases the varied history of both Everglades City and the area, as it changed throughout time. Well worth a stop!

What a really neat place to visit! We got to visit with my cousin that lives in the area and really learned a lot! The gentleman at the front was so nice and helpful! There is so much that we learned about the area and next time we will spend a little more time so we can read more of the stuff. Would highly recommend while visiting the area, it is truly worth your time and you will learn so much!

First, it's free. So don't forget to leave some donation. Second it gives in depth view into the history of Tamiami trail and development of Everglades.

Great little museum. Note, this is a quick stop/tour in Everglade City. It is free and donations are encouraged. There are a few exhibits and a 5 minute video about the history of the everglades. There is a general history covered regarding the museum itself which used to be an old cloths washing facility - much of the old equipment is still there to see.

Amazing historical archive. Community driven, shows the deep root residents have within the community. The person at the desk was very kind and knowledgeable.

We lucked out getting in before closing, caught the tail end of a presentation about the Seminoles. Nice layout and displays, need to come back with more time allotted next year.

This is a wonderful FREE little museum! While we were here they had a 1 hour presentation by a National Park Ranger, and it was very informative. I highly recommend checking out this little gem in Everglades City!

If you're in the area of Everglages City, this is a must do. They have great info in the museum about the area, history of the town, and a couple of very interesting short films about the town and the building of Tamiami Trail. Plus the staff is very known and helpful. And to to it off it's free, though there is a donation box.
