Unfortunately, several fish tanks had more dead fish than alive in them this time. We'll go back in a couple of weeks since the store is local. We've purchased several fish from here 2 years ago, and they're done great. Going in to see the birds can be entertaining.

The employees weren't exactly friendly. They didn't seem to know much about reptiles and wanted to grill me about an exotic I have legally. It's also incredibly expensive. I live about 10min from this place, but it's cheaper to drive to Tallahassee and buy from a pet store up there.

Knowledgeable and helpful! I purchased a beautiful 75 gal fish tank from them and really was happy I did. Their store is interesting and well-stocked. Most of all, my husband and I enjoyed meeting some folks who make “supporting local” and enjoyable experience. Thank you!

Bought a bird. The place is in a strip mall on hwy 319 and doesn't catch attention when passing by but it is larger than it looks. Well maintained. Have a wide variety of fish and the necessities.. Pinkies are available also.We had called to find a parakeet and drove down to get it.They had a nice selection of colors.Several cockatiels in stock.Dog clothes. Everything for dogs and cats it looked like.The clothes were a little high compared to what I've bought my dog and what I've seen on Amazon.The parakeets we're less than I had priced in Tallahassee.They offer nail trims/washing/ grooming.They take cards and cash

5/10/2023 I just visited the store today I was very excited as I have been following them on Facebook for a while now . Needless to say I was disappointed . I bought two "car magnets" and after I paid the lady in the front informed me I wouldn't be able to use it on the car and that they are good fridge magnets :| Also the cages for the animals were nasty . They had loose crickets and meal worms crawling around and the reptiles weren't in the best of care .

Nice locally owned pet store. They have a good selection of pets and pet supplies from dogs, cats and small mammals to fish, birds and reptiles. Prices are competitive and the staff is helpful.

Been here quite a few times. They've got a good, healthy selection of cat and dog food. They have live birds, reptiles, fish, rabbits, chinchillas. The staff try to be friendly but there are times it's uncomfortable. I always get the vibe that they're not terribly open to opinions. It's a good store if you need something close by. Prices are higher than other stores on several things. That all being said, their aquatic section is disheartening. Fish don't really look all that great, bettas are kept in tiny cups with no color to them. They've got quite a few tanks. Last time I was there several fish looked unhealthy. The price on fish is comparable to bigger stores. They've got a limited selection on live plants.All in all, a good place to go if you need something. But could use improvement in a few areas.UPDATE July2018:: They have done a big revamp of their aquatic section! I was in the store during the early stages so I don't know what it looks like fully stocked, but they have purchased a beautiful display case for their fish.

Pet Stop has the nicest privately owned pet shop in the tristate area. The animals are very well taken care of. He has a huge selection of anything you'd want for most animals/fish. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. We recommend and will be back.

Love this store. There are lots of fish. Exotic birds at the door to greet guests with "hi", "what you doing" and friendly approaches. Tons of pet supplies. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed my visit.

Our guinea pig we got from here is an awesome addition to our family and she's been with us for over a year. We originally bought her hay and bedding from Walmart thinking the price would be cheaper but we changed our minds and buy only from Pet Stop. They have a better selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff and we support our local businesses.

Not only is it the worst customer service possible you literally are getting robbed buying products there. Everything is extremely overpriced the employees are extremely rude to you and make you feel very inferior as a pet owner for certain products that you buy especially the owner. I highly recommend never going to this pet store even if it’s for emergencies. I literally went in there and actually white dust off of a product that I picked up and you can clearly tell it has been a very long time since that store has been clean. Definitely lost my permanent business

Tony is a liar and will tell you that you are buying some exotic fish instead of a garbage breed you would never want in your tank just to turn a profit. This has happened many times and, at first I chalked it up to ignorance. Now I’m certain that he does it on purpose. He only bothers when I’m not with my family member who purchases and they wouldn’t know better.Also, if you don’t spend money and a lot of it on every visit prepared for terrible service and a bad attitude. My business will go back to Tallahassee despite the inconvenience of a commute.

There was not a big selection of dog food when I was there and people working appeared very overwhelmed. I was not welcomed to the store and had to wait like 10 mins to check out. I am willing to try them again to see if this was just a bad day. But they did have some alternative rawhide that my dogs loved.

Hi folks! I wanted to share something that has kind of been eating at me for a little bit now (long post, sorry)...I took my children with me to Pet Shop in Cville by the court house and they were SO excited to see all the birds and little animals they had. They held my hand the whole time and we walked around the front and looked in all the cages. They never tried to touch the cages or the animals at all. I walked to the middle of the floor (where they couldn't touch anything) so that I could ask a couple questions. The woman with a short bob that's always there (she basically runs the place) is who I was speaking to. My children held my hand the entire time I was talking to her. They started to get a little bored so the were trying to tag each other around me, again holding my hand. They were giggling and laughing at each other and this woman stopped and said to my 2 and 3 year old, and I quote, "boys I'm trying to talk to your mom and your being obnoxious"!!!!! TO A TWO AND THREE YEAR OLD!!! You shouldn't speak like that to anyone, let alone toddlers. It was not only unprofessional, but rude and flat out mean. I have never been one to bash a company, and it doesn't make me happy to share this with you all now. But I do think it's important to share with you the type of people you are supporting. Small business or not, this was completely out of line and honestly think they either need to reevaluate the staff they have, or they will continue to lose business (I'm not the first to have had these experiences with the same employee.) I read the negative reviews on this place. I said surely it can't be that bad. Well folks it is. The employees are rude as hell and don"t know a thing about fish. They attempted to put fish from two different fish tanks in the same bag for me to carry home. These were $20.00 fish mind you.When I stopped her she said they do it all the time. That's what the owner told her to do. He's been raising fish for 36 years and she was sure he knew better than me. And that was the first and LAST time I'll be going to Petstop LLC.

Staff is friendly, but gives out wrong information, do your research before buying any animal so you dont have to base your care off of what they tell you. Their bearded dragons also carry pinworms, and it's highly probable that they carry an incurable wasting disease known as the atadenovirus. I bought my beardy from them like this, and they told me that his mobility issues were caused by a cricket that was too big which I found was wrong after taking him to the vet. I'm not angry as I love him dearly, I just want to warn others to be careful when purchasing their reptiles. Overall nice place to shop for my pets' needs, albeit a bit over priced. Insect feeders are cheap though.

They really aren't as bad as people make them out to be. Yes the own does thinks he knows everything. But the two girls that work there are super sweet! They have everything I need when it comes to my cats and dog. I do recommend going here if you need something

Horrible people. Shop owner knows "EVERYTHING". Insinuated I was lying about what my fish was doing when I went in for advice. Also sold me a live plant and log for my tank that was infested with snails. These people should not be in business. Save your money, go somewhere else.

Is this place no Stars I would need to go to the pet shop as a young child, I need to see my favorite one and it was clean. And but now it’s disgusting the hamster cages has MOLD in them, they had three long hair Syrians (teddy bears) In the same cage with no food in the cage was probably 19 inches long and eight wide at most.
