This was a gem of a find. Wanted to head to the area and stay for a weekend. Having a 3 month old puppy also need a pet friendly place. The villas are very spacious and the one we had 153d even had a walk in shower.If there are drawbacks it would be this. If you are coming after 5 pm on a Friday it isn't very clear where to check in or check out. So you will know it is the proshop in the restaurant. Also the restaurant on premise is going through transition so don't be in a hurry. Also if you have small kids the menu isn't kid friendly at this point.Pickleball courts are great, and although I don't play golf the course looked awesome and very well maintained.

Stayed in a villa for the weekend and was WILDLY impressed! The room was immaculate and housekeeping was super friendly when I ran into them on my way out! Beautiful scenery and great location - so close to multiple beach areas!! Additionally, having the grill right on the grounds made for a convenient and delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner with fantastic staff!!! Thank you St. James Bay for such a wonderful experience! Cant wait to come back!

The resort is beautiful!! We stayed in the condo and it was very nice. I was a little disappointed that I was not told that they were doing renovations and that the pool was also closed. The restaurant food was great. The were very short staffed so it was a little chaotic. We thought the check out was at 11. The house keeper was a bit rude when she came to our door at 10:10. We were ready to leave and got out as soon as she told us to. The girls in the pro shop didn't speak and were basically there holding the chairs down. Not helpful at all. The man that was working the next morning was very helpful and more pleasant than the girls the afternoon before. Not sure I'll be back at $350 a night to be treated that way.

Someone recommended St James Resort to me. I decided to meet some college friends and stay there because we love pickleball and golf. It worked out perfect. We stayed 2 nights and the rooms were so cleaned and stunning. They were the biggest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in We ended up going to the Crooked Grill and I had the grilled salmon it was very good. Overall was a great experience.

St James is in a perfect location. There are so many things to do. You can golf, play pickle ball, work out, and it’s so close to the ocean. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. We ate lunch and dinner multiple times at The Crooked River and it was delicious. They have a nice outside area where you can eat. I would definitely go back. This place is a great place to hold a social function like a wedding or a family reunion because your guests would have so many things to do. What a great experience.

We had a large golf group for a recent weekend golf outing there. The course was most challenging and fun to play. The accomdations (condos and villas) were first class. The best kudos go to the staff ( general manager on down) who were most friendly and helpful in making our outing a success. And bring your camera for a snapshot of the big gator on the eighteenth hole. Highly recommend.

My sister and I stayed at St James for a long weekend and it was so beautiful. We have been on many golf courses in our life time because were avid golfers and this course was stunning. We saw so many different varieties of beautiful birds while golfing. The landscape was immaculate. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The views were awesome. The restaurant "crooked river grill" was so good I could eat it all the time and still not get bored of the food it was the best food ive had in a restaurant in a golf course in a while. Its a overall great place to stay, golf, and eat. I would highly advise going there and im going there next year!

Cannot believe how expensive a round of golf and a beer cost now. While they are working on the course it is not near the asking price. $16 dollars for a bucket of balls. $17 for two draft beers! Nice margins.

Up’s:Brand new Pickleball, courts, wonderful Golf Course, clean and private cabins, full bar and restaurant, friendly staff, walking and biking friendly.Price is right!Outdoor games for family fun.Missing:No pools at this time as they are being constructed; hours at their on site restaurant and bar are somewhat limited.

We just discovered St. James Bay. What a fantastic place to stay in the middle of nowhere. Just kidding but you will not find a nicer place for many miles!We choose one of the new golf villas. It was a large room with a queen bed, nice bathroom, minimal kitchenette, laundry room and a nice seating area to watch the TV. This is now on our list. Anytime we travel to the forgotten Coast.Rooms: Fantastic, compared to a hotel room!

We had a great time at St James Bay! Management quickly moved us when we saw we had only one bed and needed two. The new unit had most everything we needed for our two days. The unit was only feet from the club house, restaurant, and pro shop. A suggestion is to cut down on outside lights because there were so many, it was a bit difficult to sleep. However, I’d come back again and wear an eye mask. The golf course was very nice and in great shape, but was a difficult course because of so many hazard areas to go over. Bring plenty of balls!

Great girls golf trip! Looking forward to next year. Course was challenging and unique and great shape. Saw lots of wildlife including a rare white squirrel! Staff was nice and food was great. We took a day trip to Apalochicola (great seafood at The Gibson Inn)/cute shops) and St. George Island - Patty’s for drinks and music, lighthouse, and saw amazing sunset on the beach!

Made a short trip from the northeast on business with two of my associates. It was February 28, 2024. This resort although pricey seemed like a nice treat for us in a tough week. Since there were three of us, I opted for the more expensive three bedroom condo at a rate of $375 hoping to ease the pain of an exhausting trip.We arrived at 2:30 hoping to get a round of golf in prior to check in. The property seemed well kept and although golf and beverages were a little pricey we were able to unwind on the course.At 7pm we had finished golf and checked in. We headed immediately to or condo and dropped our bags, cleaned up and headed to the onsite clubhouse restaurant which only served meals till 8pm.The meals and drinks were fair priced but still equated to another $200 bill to add with the golf $175 and course beverages $100.Upon returning to the room we, noticed the veranda was reinforced with double two by four wooden wall support which was part of their remodeling reconstruction. Understandable I guess.After an hour or so we all turned in for an early exit in the morning as part of the business we came south for.Upon turning down the sheets in my bedroom I find little bits of what I originally thought was bedbugs on the sheets. Better inspection found more of what now appeared to be sand or grit with decorative pieces of black human body and pubic hairs throughout the sheets.Needless to say, I could not sleep in that bed.The next morning I told my associates who witnessed the sheets and became disgusted and afraid to check their own.Leaving at 7:30am find literally no one but the golf shop guy to tell. He just shook his head as if we weren’t the first.Since the to this day, I have been back and forth with them having sent them numerous photos as well. My concern is for the next tenants moving forward and although o have asked for compensation this is really not about that. I don’t need the money!So here is how the story ends.They wish to offer 10% back on a $375 three bedroom stay where one bed was not useable. That is $37.50 or a twelve pack of beer if you were to purchase it on the course.St. James Bay Golf Resort fails miserably when it comes to customer service.Shame on you.Future customers can take their chances but me and mine will not ever again!Mike R. We did not stay, we only visited the restaurant. Service was horrible. Waitresses and servers are slow and unorganized. Excuse for poor service was the new computer system. Computers do not make everyone in the restaurant wait 20 minutes just to get a drink or, nor an additional 15 mins to have another sever ask again for drink order. Finally after 35 mins drinks were served, meal order taken. An hour and thirty minutes after arriving our meal was served. NEVER again would I visit this restaurant.

Our family - me, my son, granddaughter, and her boyfriend - had a great weekend at the St. James Bay Resort. Enjoyed the golf course -- yes, the course is very difficult and really tested us. But it was an experience in golf which we can talk about for a long time. The restaurant is outstanding - the food was great across the board; breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our three-bedroom condo was excellent. Coach is great in the pro shop. He took time to tell us how to play the golf course, the holes to be careful - and the alligators. Even warned us about the bears at night by the condo. And he quickly rescued us when we had a golf cart problem on the course. Beth Parr ("Parr" for the course?) capped it off. As the date approached, Beth and I traded phone calls (even gave me her cell phone number); she made sure I knew what to do when we got to St. James Bay. While we were there, she was outstanding; laughed with us, joked with us; friendly and helpful at all times - the perfect hostess (keep her on the job). Thanks for a great weekend.

Amazing from check-in to checkout. The golf course was a players course. The views and the peacefulness of St. James was just what we needed for a short weekend. We will definitely be looking to book in the future for an extended weekend. The staff were very polite and helpful as well. Beth is the definition of southern hospitality. Great spot to get away for a quick weekend trip, not much to do in the area outside of golf but it was just what we were looking for. Course isn't long but challenging enough for all skill levels, some of the tee boxes for the ladies could be better kept. Staff was very friendly and the food at the restaurant was great, i recommend trying the gumbo if they have some ready.
