What a fabulous little history museum! The place is packed with artifacts & information all about the history of the area and town. Very nice docent who greeted me and told an interesting story about the shipwreck of the Tarpon. This is a perfect sized museum for me - not huge or overwhelming. If you are in the Carrabelle area, this is definitely worth a stop!

My husband and I absolutely loved visiting the museum today. The Docent entertained us with stories from the past and alot of the history that makes Carrabelle. We got hands on experience in history while holding 20,000 year carbon dated oyster shell fossils and thoroughly enjoyed our tour through the small but fulfilling museum. We will be coming back to this gem of a town next year.

My husband and I visited the museum on Saturday. It's a great hidden treasure! We spent hours there and our guide, Mrs. Tamara was so knowledgeable and gracious! Everyone should visit this museum! I love that it's open on Wednesday- Sunday too. How lovely to accommodate everyone's schedule so thoughtfully!

Mr. Allen was the most kindest soul my family and I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He shared some history about artifacts found around Carrabelle. Even pottery found in his own yard that was dated back a LONG time ago. After our talk, he invited us next store to his art gallery. He is an artist! Mr. Allen uses pigments from the earth to paint with. He explained how he gets the various colors. How absolutely exciting this was! My teenage nephews couldn't believe how patient Mr. Allen is when it comes to carefully creating from pigments. The paintings were remarkable! Yes he sells them!

Stopped by before the boat parade and was amazed. Tiny bit full of Clarabelle history and the volunteer had amazing stories to tell and very knowledgeable.

A small fishing village with a rich history needs a museum to share its history with both local people and those who come to the Forgotten Coast occasionally and seasonally. A small group of dedicated staff volunteer countless hours to be available for detailed historical perspectives on the area including Native American historical pottery shards. The museum and it's success are the brainchild and hard work of Tamara Allen whose grandfather was born in Carrabelle in the 19th century.

We loved the museum!!! The lady that was there told us many historical stories. Showed us all of the artifacts in the museum and told us everything she knew about the different items. It is small, but full of many different items. The kids payed attention and listened very well.

A little museum showing the wide and varied history of Carrabelle and environs. I like the story of the heroic sailor from the Tarpon, who swam for a day and a night to find help for the other survivors.

Small but comprehensive museum about the history of Carabelle and its swamp area, which were pretty much overforested.

Great museum. Carrabelle may be a small town but there's nothing small minded about this museum. Historical displays are very professional and interesting. This museum is one of three museums in Carrabelle.
