My experience at this ShopRite was good. This location is huge much bigger then the one I usually shop at. They have a good selection of meats, dairy, produce and seafood. The store is clean and they also have an area with snacks and drinks. My only complaint is they only have self checkouts no cashiers. And more than half of the self checkouts were down which means they are very short staffed and don’t have people to staff the self checkouts.

Nice layout. Clean. Well-stocked. However, I encountered some rude staff at self-checkout. Even customer service was rude. One Cashier was very nice and patient and explained their process to me. Everyone can learn from Lisa (cashier) - great employee.

So they fire all the cashiers to install all self checkout.... Then shut down all the self checkout lanes... And only have a couple open with cashiers to check you out... Im confused.... Now you have to wait in a long line or behind people with huge carts... Because none of the self checkout lanes are open.... Then you have to wait in line to have your receipt checked at the door... Because they dont trust you to ring yourself up.. or the cashiers who ring you up... All the beef was outdated but not marked down.... Store was pretty clean... Somewhat stocked... But this store is going downhill... Not to mention they have cheap paper bags that rip.. and charge you for them.... Or you just have to walk out with a cart full of stuff and no bags... They should at least provide courtesy bags when you spend a certain amount

It's an average grocery store. The prices are usually pretty good and there's plenty of parking. When I've visited, I've found this location to be a bit dirtier than others (mostly in the parking lot, front of the store, there's often trash on the ground and floor). Like most places today, they often seem understaffed.

I have been trying for 2 days to get ahold of meat room or store manager. No one answers the phone. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! Front end service desk people are not helpful at all! EDIT... called Newport store. Spoke w Matt in meat room. He actually called the other stores to find what I wanted! Matt needs to be commended for his helpful nature! Great guy, from the Newport store!

I've just made my final order with shoprite. Every month without fail, they fail to deliver at least a third of the stuff I order. Then I have staff telling me they'll call me back. Fail to deliver on that. And it's not even just this location. Then tell me that they're backed up and they're about to leave because they have stuff to do, and i haven't even gotten to tell them what's wrong with my order. I'm done. I tried to give them my business because I usually get really good sales for my groceries to last (I don't make much every pay period). But this is the end of road for me.*Editing from my original review: the person I talked to this morning was helpful and sent the missing items out. Raised it to 2 stars for remedying the situation.

last night my girlfriend and I were shopping here and have both just started to feel better. We wanted to be in and out so we were both scanning the items at self check out. We did not have any bags and were both scanning the items. Nor were we offered bags that were visibly not in stock. As soon as we paid the extremely rude employee (a young girl with braces and dark hair in a pony tail) said she needed to check the receipt) I’ve worked in retail many years and the issue that lies here is that she should have walked over and said you missed the items in the seat of the cart (which was an unintentional mistake of ours bc we did not have any bags and we were scanning items than separating the dry food, and frozen food in the cart) it is not our job to ring up the items we are purchasing and we are not paid to do it nor are we receiving a discount to do so) so her rude approach, than also making a racist comment that jersey shore thought they were going to come in and take groceries as well as 6 employees trying to go through the receipt to check the items (when all 6 of them could be at the register ringing guest) is a reason myself and my very large Italian jersey shore family will not be returning to this grocery store. If we had intentions to steal groceries I would not be writing this review with my first and last name. It’s ashame bc a few weeks ago a gentlemen helped me get some crab meat and was very polite and customer service oriented. Employees like herself who were not even corrected by two managers for saying such an offensive remark will be the reason you will loose customers, customers who had no issue handing over a receipt and purchasing the missed items when by law you do not need to show anyone a receipt of your purchased items .. close down self check out and avoid theft and loosing customers. As all 6 employees were checking our recipes I watched two other guest not scan items and walk out.. a more sufficient system needs to be ran here ! Maybe start with a new management !

Ugh…I have shopped here for years especially after they remodeled several years ago, but recently this store has slid downhill rapidly. From the new checkout lanes (half of them closed) with only self-service to the new security checks of your receipts like a W*****t to the surly customer service managers who aren’t interested in issues or feedback, G***t down the street or the new forthcoming Weg**n’s will be my new go-to stores.

I give three starts because I’ve ordered cupcakes here 5 times because they are the best! I’ve never had a terrible experience until I encountered a young white girl at the bakery on November 13, 2023. Usually it’s a male who is always pleasant! I went to pick up my cupcakes and and I had other items in my cart for checkout. She made sure to walk me to the front while holding the cupcakes to ensure that I didn’t steal them lol she even hit me with that weird smile/grin that white people do when they don’t want to encounter you. All the other times I’ve ordered cupcakes and never encountered that. It was very uncomfortable and would not have happened if I was a white woman.

This review is just based on a visit during the week to grab food from the salad bar and hot bar. I do love me some ShopRite. I was excited to check this location out by my work. Parking was a bit of a pain, but not bad. The store is very nice when you walk in. The hot food bar looked like it needed help, but I got some of it anyway. The salad bar was a bit better. When I got back to work, something tasted funny. I ate it all and was fine. I will be skeptical of I ever go back for a second try.

I love this ShopRite! First real grocery store within a 2 mile radius of me.Clean. Security is on point.•Shampoo’s and conditioner by OGX. Coconut Oil being a great sent choice. (no Animal Testing) •Mrs Meters Clean Day Lavender Sent, Plant based ingredients. The most amazing smelling cleaner that’s ever crossed your nose. Concentrate, a few cap fulls go a long way. (no animal testing) Chobani Yogurt Vanilla flavor! I add honey granola and fruit, either blueberries or peaches!They have such a great selection of vegan and vegetarian food.

Google and online should match up with the stores hours. I traveled to DE and I came at 10:03pm to the store to pick up a few items… the workers told us the store was closed however, other people were let in the store to shop, as well, there were at least 6 people still shopping for items. The lady kept telling us they close at 10 not 12am. If so, why were they letting people in? I went to check out my few items and was waiting behind another customer, I was told by the attendant at the front of the store I couldn’t use that lane because it was closed( mind you stood there at least 3minutes)The other lane had customers with a cart FULL. I proceeded to get water and when I came back she opened the new lane and let another customer get in front of me…. Will not be returning if I get the chance… do better. And don’t get mad the customers are taking long IF YOU LET THEM IN!

I usually do an online pick up at this store. Big shout out to Pat at the outside pick-up lane. Despite a tsunami of people all arriving at the same time, she handled it quickly, professionally, and with a smile. The order was shopped perfectly as well. Thanks Pat!

Horrible experience every time I go to this store. From bad customer service to equipment not working properly so can’t perform certain tasks!!Why shop somewhere when they can’t even maintain their own equipment. Look at the photos and you’ll see the tv display for the deli isn’t working and that’s because they either don’t want you to know the pricing or they don’t want to fix it but they can sell tvs though!!

Based on what I’ve experienced while shopping at this location, majority of the staff/managers don’t care about their jobs or their customers, and it shows. More often than not, sale items don’t ring up at the sale price. The cashiers take forever to process one transaction and the self-checkouts usually only have one, maybe two, open. The entire store/staff/checkout process is disheveled.

This shoprite is pretty big. They have things located all around the perimeter with the fresh foods and in the aisle with the dry goods and prepared food. There was a line at the seafood counter and I almost caved into their salmon and crabs but settled for some well made sushi rolls. It's a little easy to get turned around in this place and they have lots of special items like black truffle cheese just to name one. Noticed in both stores that I've been into the past few days have new layouts and the wife mentioned that the atmosphere is kind of cold color wise? Lots of dark red and blues.Whether you're just picking up a few things, or entering with your cookbook to potentially make a recipe that will either be the most glorious thing ever or a catastrophe that even the stray cats won't touch, you've found an exciting store filled with the stuff you need for success. Now grab that latest cooking magazine and get to it! Also pick up a frozen pizza if things don't end well.

This Shoprite is usually pretty busy but the staff does a pretty good job of getting you in and out. Nice selection of foods and goods. The lunch time food is fresh and hot. Has never failed to disappoint. Sometimes you may be hassled for money from some people outside the store before entering or when exiting.

The worst! I was so excited to be moving back to the East Coast to be near good grocery stores. This shoprite sucks and I would give it 0 stars if I could. The customer service desk is rude and when you ask a question they say "idk". They dont search for the answer or ask a manager its just "im not sure" and thats that. They service mostly people of color and elders, so they DGAF about the store being stocked or clean. The checkout lanes are always so filthy! Meat liquid gets all over and no one cleans it for hours. Gross ! I just drive the extra few minutes and shop at the Shoprite in the white neighborhood.

A few customers and I were locked in the store as managers tried to deal with an unhappy customer at the door. They also have no cashiers, but somehow 20 employees show up to watch the incident go down. Also most of the self check out machines are broken usually, but I guess it's cheaper than actually hiring cashiers or people to fix machines.Also reading these reviews, corporate is pushing people to flood their rating to protect their online image. 4 stars and nearly 3,000 reviews? This place isn't that popular or good!

I’m not giving them five stars because I went to buy a watermelon which I hesitated for a while because their fruits never great, so I bought the watermelon and I asked the cashier is it good? they said yeah it’s good, I noticed that the watermelon said grown in Delaware which that was a red flag right there, I’ve be eating a whole Lotta watermelon lately, I normally always buy from Acme or Whole Foods, always phenomenal, delicious sweet juicy. Moral of the story is Shoprite’s watermelon is complete garbage, taste like Styrofoam, it’s barely sweet,the Texture’s trash and I should’ve known when it says grown in Delaware. I heard from people that the CEO is very cheap and that might explain why he’s selling Delaware water melons. I can still taste that nasty taste that might cost him a star right there for the time it takes for me to forget about how disgusting it was. But I’ll be generous since their customer service got a little better, folks get your watermelon from Acme, or Whole Foods, unless you know somebody with a good watermelon

As a young black business professional I personally hate going here. It’s like the staff is told to treat black people differently than the majority. I’m in line and watched 2 Caucasian people check out without assistance. My turn comes up an employee abruptly stops me and says “sorry I have to check you out”. I asked him why after noticing everything there was an excuse given. Keep in mind I’m next to the door and I see the same 2 shoppers walk swiftly pass the door man. My turn and boom “may I see your receipt please”… at this point I told them it’s giving racial bias, and the funniest part. The lady in front of me stole at least 2 meat packets worth well over 20.00… moral of the story, go to Aldi where they treat everyone the same.

I purchased 2 units of fresh ground beef for my Father’s Day cookout. I believe the meat was mixed with pork or contaminated because everyone who consumed the beef has food poisoning. I had a weird feeling about purchasing the ground beef but that’s what my aunt uses n the brand she usually buys was out of stock everywhere. Be careful buying meats from here
