I didn't want to complain online but after no response from vet after bringing up this situation, I've decided otherwise.I've brought my pets here for many years and have never had much to complain about until our most recent visit. My cat is by nature very calm and friendly and I've never seen him upset after trips to vet, getting neutered, etc. The tech took him back for bloodwork etc, and my cat came back visibly upset. She mentioned she had trouble getting blood from him because he has small veins. This has never been an issue. She then administered medicine via a squirt syringe type thing in his mouth and he was not having it being already upset.She handled him so roughly and forcefully to the point that I suggested I do it at home and she refused saying she's typically very good at this insinuating it was his fault. It makes me crazy wondering how he was treated while getting blood and urine drawn while I wasn't present. Afterward my cat jumped down and literally put his face in the corner of the room under a chair which he has never ever done, he was terrified. I was furious.Upon getting home, he wasn't right for two days.Skittish, getting startled easily, he had never been like this in the 11 years he's been with me. This experience has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I don't feel comfortable going back and surprised they keep someone like this working there. I've seen a few other reviews and have spoken to another client who have encountered similar issues with (what sounds to be) the same tech.With all that said, I am exploring other veterinary options and hoping this sheds some light on an obviously existing issue there and no one else has a similar experience.Oh and giving him the rest of his medicine at home, no issues.For what it’s worth, I gave two stars because the girls up front were very nice

My dog started coughing so I took him right to the Brandywine hundred vet. Last year he got the flu and pneumonia and they took very good care of him so when I brought him in the other day they wanted to get him right on an antibiotic so he wouldn’t get as sick as last year.. they remembered the whole ordeal and were very proactive! Kobe got lots of hugs from everyone while he was there!

I had to take my dog Goose in to get a growth examined. Goose is a good boy, but he can be anxious and unpredictable. Because of that, the ladies in the office took extra care to make sure he was comfortable and received special attention. He was allowed to enter through a separate door, walk right into the exam room, and he got immediate care from the staff. They were quick about follow up, very responsive both via email and via phone, and friendly and knowledgable. We'll definitely be back!

We found a kitten outside and were able to get her checked out immediately here. It was our first visit to this vet clinic. The staff was lovely and so engaged. I love that they have a separate entrance for cats and dogs. I would recommend pet care here for sure.

My family has taken animals to this practice for many, many years. The staff members have always been empathetic and professional. When I recently had to put my beloved dog Frances down, she was first gently carried to see all the techs to say good-bye and then Dr. Quigley held my hand during the procedure. I then received paw and nose prints as well as a beautiful card signed by all. I miss them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We had a cat that just recently passed at 21 years old. For atleast 10 years she was on a maintenance med for a hyper thyroid. Throughout this time, we had to visit quite frequently and the staff was always pleasant, helpful, and attentive to our needs. Believe me I had to call a lot with many questions.When she was 19 yrs old she became very sluggish. She had tumerous lesions behind her neck and mouth. We observed the neck; however, we never noticed her mouth and attributed the sluggishness to old age. Furthermore, we held the false belief that she was to old for surgery.After meeting with Dr Chen for the first time, she felt the facial tumor under lip and recommended surgery immediately due to her ability to eat. She assured us that blood work could give her an idea if she could stand the surgery. We also had a few teeth pulled and small lesions removed that were probably bothering her (hard to say, cats hide injuries well).Needless to say the surgery, performed by Dr Quigley, was a success. She was the happiest kitty her last two years. She played like she was young again. It was the best money spent for the most loving creature! Thank you BHVH for many years of friendly service!

Brandywine Vet is amazing! The techs are sweet and really care about my dogs. They are always very kind to my pups and have been angels when I had to put a dog down a couple years ago. They are upfront about pricing and give me options if I can’t afford everything right away. They help me prioritize what needs to be done for my aging doggie. Hands down, the best people ever! The techs and Dr Quigley are fantastic! Will always take my fur babies there

We've been taking our pets here for 30 years, like most vets not cheap, but excellent care. Dr.Hardy and staff have a great bedside manner, especially helpful when you're dealing with serious illness or the end of the life of a furry family member. Over the years they've taken care of five cats and three dogs in our family.

I brought my Lab/Pit Mix in for an annual exam and vaccines and the staff was very friendly and answered all of my questions. They gave recommendations for some of my concerns. I really like the space and that they have a shop attached. It did seem a little pricey but was less than I paid at my last vet so it’s an improvement!

I love Brandywine Hundred Veterinarian hospital. Taryn, the vet tech is amazing. She loves and treats my pug Frank as if he is her dog. When my puppy Frank goes the vet, he is met with hugs and kisses every time. No question is ever unanswered and we always leave knowledgeable and happy. The entire staff is wonderful.

Our family has used Brandywine 100 for about 20 yrs. They’ve proven highly qualified and empathetic. Dr Nancy Chen is a pleasure to deal with. It’s apparent that she cares about her patients and she’s gone out of her way to treat our Boys and us with respect and the utmost kindness when dealing with end of life issues. The techs and staff have bent over backwards for our (not always friendly) 100+ lb dogs and their care has been appreciated. One of the best features of the practice is the separate waiting rooms for dogs and cats. I would highly recommend Brandywine 100 Veterinary practice. Thanks for reading…Mark Hayden-LaFollette

Deeply saddened by the loss of my cat, my baby Tyson but even more upset at the neglect of Veterinarian Dr. Chen. She did not diagnose accurately, no prognosis status except in favor after she reviewed lab results. She didn’t check for skin turgor as this is a basic assessment or noticed how dry his mouth was, she stated it was pale, probably anemia. Lab results showed no anemia, so why wouldn’t she see the dehydration and low blood sugar from basic assessment, my report to her and lab values indicating dehydration with low blood sugar. She did not offer to have him hospitalized, IV fluids or water shots…these were all questions asked to me if she offered by the ER veterinarian at another hospital along with his clear physical assessment and reading labs reviewed by Dr. Chen just 2 days prior. At this point his diagnoses was severe dehydration causing systemic organ failure, low blood sugar and body shutting down. Prior to this I had to wait 6 days for a very sick cat to be seen, received medicine for a diagnosis of hyperthyroidism 6 days after seen, which on that night my cat was actively dying with only a few minutes notice as I did not leave him out of my sight. We rushed to emergency vet hospital where I needed to make the clear decision to euthanize him before having a painful death while having a seizure. I believe this drastic decline in 5 days from seeing vet could have been prevented with proper care, diagnoses and assessment with IV fluids etc. At no point did I turn down another test either for price or another reason. I brought fresh urine and stool to be tested and complete lab workup was done yet my baby is not here when he should be. She assured me with lab results that he had the best diagnoses which was hyperthyroidism of the 3 she stated she thought he had, she said no diabetes, kidneys were good. Tyson had a good prognosis with medicine for the thyroid, would have had a few more years with him to say the least. He never gave up, he tried to live, ate that day and tried to drink a lot, his last steps were to the water bowl before losing balance, coordination to where I immediately rushed him to ER. We fur-baby parents trust veterinarians to offer or give proper care and treatment for our family. Very heart broken mama who always did the best for her fur baby and will continue for Tyson’s heart broken brother but angry at this veterinarian for neglect which caused Tyson’s demise. I will continue to spread the word to fellow fur parents to be cautious in who you entrust with your family’s life. 😿

I have taken my cat there three times at the request of the lady I stay with. If it were not for her, I would find another place. While they have been professional and knowledgeable enough. No one has one has introduced themselves or been very friendly. I am new to the community and am hoping to find a comfortable place for my pets to feel comfortable. As far as I am concerned, it is adequate until I can establish myself here and find a better fit.

Dr. Chen is, by far, the best Vet I have experienced in my life as a Cat mom. She is a master of her craft. Our Max was having digestive issues, throwing up constantly, losing weight, becoming sickly and failing. Dr. Chen to the rescue. With regular B-12 shots, his digestive health is better than ever, he is eating so well and is healthier than before. He is an 11 year-old kitten. Dr. Chen is the perfect mix of expertise and compassion.

Front desk staff are useless. Sent an email a week ago about scheduling an appointment for a new puppy. Waited days for a response, we confirmed a day they offered, then heard nothing back for another 2 days. I followed up AGAIN only to find out the slots have been booked, and that the appointment would be pushed back at least 2 days. Only a half an hour later I decided to stop by the office since we live close by to sort this out. Once I arrived I was told that those NEW slots I was just told existed were also gone, and that I'd have to push back another 4 days. The front desk staff said if you don't like it, go somewhere else. Needless to say we're never coming here and if you value getting your pet seen on time you shouldn't either. There's too many places available nearby to consider this dump.

Okay veterinarians. Whoever runs/works the front desk is slacking. I got charged twice for something and quickly got it fixed. Called to get an appointment cancelled and asked for clarification on some medication that I got from an emergency vet- was turned down because they didn't have a report on it- understandable and I thanked her anyways, but she cut me off while I was still speaking and I needed a follow-up appointment after my cat's emergency. Hung up in my face. Decided to go elsewhere.

I have been going to Brandywine Hundred Vet since 2006 and I absolutely love the staff! Dr. Hardy is very informative and will listen to whatever questions you have and will answer them to the best of his knowledge. There are no dumb questions with him! My older dog had to be recently put to sleep in June. It was the worst moment of my life but Dr. Hardy along with the rest of the staff were extremely caring and there for me every step of the way. All the vet techs are beyond friendly and I have ever lasting bonds with a few of them as they treat you like family there. They are very helpful to keep my dogs anxiety of going to the vet as low as possible. They are always very pleasant and cheerful. Everyone there knows us by name when we walk in. I did try another vet back in 2007 and had a horrible experience and will never trust anyone other than Dr. Hardy with my dogs. I will drive to the moon if I have to! I also utilize the fact that they have grooming there as well. Kristina is the best at what she does and I wouldn't trust anyone else with any of my dogs.

STAY FAR AWAY!! The tech vet washed my 14yr old cat's ears so violently, he had a stroke and then went deaf. She squeezed liquid into his ear and then smashed a cotton ball in it and squeezed it shut pressing hard over and over -- she showed me how she did it AFTER SHE HAD SPENT 20 MINUTES DOING IT IN THE BACK ROOM AWAY FROM ME. NO WONDER she didn't want me to see! It was ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING. I confronted the office - the vet never called me back, denied and minimized what had happened. I cried for days while he lay looking dead, and he had to learn how to eat and drink all over again. His health deteriorated quickly after that. I was devastated knowing he'd been tortured. If you love your pets, don't take them here.

Considering that I fell asleep and missed my appointment, they were very accommodating. I have been bringing my pets here since late 1970's. Everyone is very nice and knowledgeable. They genuinely care and treat your pets as if they were their own.
