I’m very happy with all the services provided at this vet office. The staff is exceptional and they do a great job at explaining things throughly.Front desk is always cordial and respectful. The techs are gentle and efficient, the providers are very detailed and their grooming service is amazing! Overall 10/10 in every service offered! Definitely recommend.

I am so appreciative of Dr Jan for seeing my year old Doberman on an emergency basis near the close of business. I was extremely worried by her symptoms and was so grateful that Dr Jan examined her and determined that she wasn’t sick but rather in pain from an injury. I believe this practice really cares about their 4 legged patients and that is more important to me than price.

My husband and I take our 4 rescue dogs every month to grooming at Governors. We have been taking them for years so that says a lot. Reasonable cost, caring and compassionate staff. They take very good care of our fur babies. They are very attentive, if they see anything of concern, they let us know and it has been able to be addressed quickly since they can get a vet to check. It just gives us a little extra peace of mind. We also use Governors Animal Hospital as our emergency vet, and all the docs and staff have always taken great care of our dogs. The reason Governors is our secondary is because our main vet is DAFB vet clinic. Governors over the years has taken care of our dogs severe illnesses and we have never ever had an issue on care or getting an appointment. Great staff, from front of house on. Thank you for taking such good care of our furbabies.

We just had our dog groomed for the first time here in Delaware after we moved here from out-of-state. Meredith was wonderful! Usually he had to be muzzled in the past 10 years but not today. Meredith was patient & took her time verbally calming him. He was happy & we are thrilled! He thinks he’s handsome too!We are also happy w our new Veterinarian & Veterinary Assistant Kayla. He loves everyone here. Since he has a seizure disorder we are so happy. His Florida Vet, Dr Perrault was wonderful so we feel very blessed to have this wonderful new practice where he will get excellent care & kind help from caring professionals! Moving is hard but finding great healthcare is even more important.

Governors Avenue Animal Hospital has always taken excellent care of my dogs. My dogs, care prescriptions and nutrition have always been on time and available. Visits are on time not a lot of wait. Vets and techs are very informative and listen to you about pets symptoms and needs.

BEST vet we have ever been to, ever. We have moved around a lot and my dog has always been super anxious at the vet and vets have been afraid of her but not at this one! They practice fear free care and they stand by that. The doctors and techs are so kind and caring and go out of their way to take the best possible care of my animals. I’m so relieved to have found such a good caring place for my animals.

This was a great visit from start to finish. Wait time was short to see Dr Foor. We had two pets for a wellness check and he covered both of them fully telling us what he thought of their health and bringing up any thing he saw. He recommended one should have a blood test since he was an elder cat who had lost weight which he explained in detail. We agreed with him and it was done efficiently by the tech who was very good with our pets(I unfortunately do not remember her name). The payment process was good and took about 5 minutes so not long. The results of the blood test came in the next morning and Dr. Foor called us explaining that the test came out normal and everything looked good. Our pets have gone to Governors Ave AH for years and they are still vey good especially Dr. Foor. Thanks for a good visit.

We have been taking our dogs to Governors Avenue for the past 4 years for both vet care and grooming. Within the last week a medical emergency occurred with one of our dogs while we were out of state. We contacted the staff at Governors Avenue and they immediately contacted the out of state vet, obtained their records on our pet’s emergency and made arrangements to get our dog in for surgery on their next surgical day. Upon arriving at GAAH on the day of surgery, everything was explained to us that would be happening to our dog. It was done with compassion and caring, understanding that we were upset that our dog was in an emergency situation. Pam was excellent in explaining the procedure. After the surgery the operating vet reached out to us to tell us what was found during the surgery and the prognosis for our dog. When we picked him up later in the day, Pam and Brandi went over in detail the care that we would need to provide him while he recovered at home. Today, the day after surgery, Pam called to check on our dog and to make sure there were no post surgery problems. I can’t say enough good things about all the staff and vets at GAAH, they are all wonderful and it is clear that they have the best interests of the animals that they care for always in mind. I wouldn’t take my dogs to any other vet.

I love all the vets, techs and staff. After moving back to Delaware, they took care of my boys (Moody, Milkshake and Snuggles). They took such wonderful care and compassion with them up to the day of euthinaztion. They 100% truly care.After the boys, I rescued a girl (Amber) at the age of 3 (she's now 4) and I take her to Govenor Animal Hospital and I have no doubt she will be well cared for. They will be our family vet for life.

My dog had congestive heart failure and four other veterinarians in the area never found what was wrong with my dog. I went to Governors Avenue vet and my doctor is Dr Street and she moved in on his problem immediately and has been taking incredible care of him. I have my dog living, she saved his life. The other veterinarians missing his issue, he would be dead. I am so indebted to doctor Street and Governors Avenue vet. Their professionalism and compassion saved my dog's life.

We’ve been using Governor’s Avenue for the past 7 years and they’ve always been great! However, recently a new doctor joined the practice (Dr. Drummond) and he’s fantastic! He really took the time to sit with me and answer any questions I had about the issues my dog was going through and explained thoroughly what to expect with her medication. Didn’t rush us at all and you can tell he really loves working with animals! Here’s our sweet Winter in the office ❤️

I called GAAH on the morning of Monday, 3/2023, and spoke with a staffers and my concern was immediately addressed in a polite and professional manner. I expressed that my 16 weeks old Cane Corso puppy (Matata) had developed a cherry eye and I wanted to bring him to be treated as soon as possible. I was told that I could visit the office/hospital at 2 PM. I received a call shortly thereafter and was advised that there was an opening and I could come in at 4:40 PM. I arrived at the office at 4:30 PM and checked in. Vet. Asst. Jenna was extremely professional and kind and ushered Matata and I into a treatment room for an interview and consultation. Shortly thereafter Dr. Drummond entered the room, consulted with myself, examined Matata and thoroughly explained the diagnosis and treated Matata. I was given a prescription with refills. I was absolutely amazed by the professionalism of the staff. The fee was very reasonable, I was very pleased with my visit. Thanks for all that you do!

Very hospitable, caring, and professional. Would absolutely recommend!We had to bring our older cat in because she wasn't feeling well and wouldn't eat, and they did some tests and found multiple issues. It was decided that the best decision was to have her put to sleep. Dr. Gennusa and Pam, the veterinary assistant, were very professional throughout the whole visit yet also very hospitable, caring, and respectful. They were extra sympathetic and compassionate and definitely made the process easier for us. They really walked through the whole process with us. 5 stars!

Very friendly and professional staff. A little pricey but the service I get is worth the price. They helped me through the worst day of my life when I had to say goodbye to my best friend of 14 years. They were very compassionate, answered all of my questions and treated the whole awful process with professionalism and empathy. They truly care!! So it was a no brainer to return when I adopted my new fur baby. They are my vet for as long as I live in Dover.

Staff and the doctor were pleasant and professional. My main concern is about the costs. Several additional services were recommended, and I should have asked but didn't, that turned out to be quite pricy. No problems with the service, but it was way too expensive. I suggest you shop around.

On May 8th my cat, Freddie, had his teeth pulled. With all the testing and actual dental work, the cost was approximately $1200. On July 21 he was not feeling well and was at the vet for his monthly pain shot. My daughter asked if someone could check him out because he was lethargic and not himself. She was told “no” and to bring him back Monday if he wasn’t better. He wasn’t! He was DEAD !

We love this place and especially love Dr. Foor. My GSD had an odd problem and he went above and beyond to find out what it was. Turns out he had EPI. Dr Foor put him on medication and supplements and he is doing really great! I have three dogs and I am very happy with all of the care they have received. From the front desks to the vet techs to our beloved Dr Foor we would highly recommend. And yes I am one of those “ moms” who constantly call with questions. My babies are seniors and I worry about them all the time. Dr Foor always calls me back and addresses all my concerns.
