I have never left a review for any place I've been before, but I have to call this store out. I absolutely hate this ShopRite. It is a 5-minute walk from my home and I will drive to the west side before I step foot in this particular ShopRite. It is not only because I find the store dirty and having no consistency from week to week with what they carry, I find the manager to be one of the most unpleasant people I have ever dealt with in a customer service business. I can't imagine that the theft rate at the store is any higher than at any other grocery store, but he thinks everyone is stealing from him and literally follows you through the store, gives you nasty looks or has a decoy following you through the store. Neither of which are discreet. I realize shoplifting is a problem, and has probably grown exponentially higher since COVID has been around not to mention the prices of groceries are just beyond astronomical, but I have never experienced anything like this. I was actually at one time at the checkout and my purse was open and he came over and looked in my purse and accused me of stealing One of those tiny small half jars of either paprika or cumin. It was not even from his store and was half empty., I assured him that if I was going to steal from his store it would not be a $3 spice but rather a $40 steak or perhaps a lobster tail. He was not amused nor did he apologize for his accusation. This was only confirmation that I was not wrong or paranoid when I felt targeted. He is unfriendly, often nasty, accusatory and just a miserable person to deal with. Outrightly rude. I have mentioned his disrespectful assumptions and accusations of theft to at least four other people who have experienced the same treatment from him. None of whom have ever been caught stealing and yet two have been told never to come back to the store.I can honestly say I have no issue with any of the other staff with the exception of the man who is in charge of fixing the recycling machines who is never around unless you leave your bottles out there and then he steals them. The checkout staff is usually very friendly and helpful. They often have good sales, but as I mentioned I find the store off in very dirty and out of stock of things from week to week. I will go to newfield ShopRite any day. What I love at that store is that most of the staff are in their late '60s and '70s, clearly beyond retirement age and have been there for a long time. The turnover rate at Hope Street is very high while the girls or grown women at newfield seem to have been there for many many years and recognize you and are generally always pleasant with a very low turnover rate. I'm guessing the turnover rate is quite high on Hope Street because no one likes the manager. I've had staff apologize to me when he walks away for his demeanor. So all that being said this store is not for me clearly. If the Cingari family knew how he treated their customers, I would imagine he would not be there any longer. Whatever he money he saves them by accusing everyone of stealing, he loses double that by offending people who will never go back there after being wrongfully accused of either stealing or just being treated poorly by the person who is in charge.**Edit.... I just read at least six or seven other reviews that mention what a miserable person the manager is though a few mentioned racism. I have to tell you he just hates everybody because I am as white as they come and he is just targeting people. To the gentleman Everett who said he is nice to some, I have never seen that man smile nor have I seen him be nice to anyone he is just not a happy person and should not be dealing with the public. I am relieved to see that there are other people that have experienced the exact problem that I have. This man should not be working there and I really hope someone does something and cleans up the store.

Horrible place to shop. Paid and told the lady my car is the first spot outside she says I’m not allowed to take the basket outside …I told her I’ll bring it back I’m the first car…she said we don’t allowed it. If you are going to treat your customers this way I was in a rush and told her I am bring it back she insist on taking my basket…Ok I said I want to return all my items and went to my old fav Stop and Shop. Which I did.

What a joke of an establishment. Not only is the store unsanitary with an awful selection, but the management team is hot flaming garbage too. Today, I witnessed the front-end manager reject this poor shy kid from a job. I couldn’t stand to see the sad look on his face as he walked away, yet she gave him dirty looks without any shame whatsoever. God, I could only imagine how she treats her employees. It was an absolute disgrace. Definitely not worth visiting again.

The male manager here if extremely rude. He accused me of fraud because I was given gift cards for my family’ at my son’s program. The Gift cards that were not Activated just yet. I will no longer be a shop rite’s customer. Racism is wrong.

This is my go to grocery store. It is smaller than most but remains well stocked with essentials; you can find what you need here unless you’re looking for some obscure item. No customer restrooms. It’s a pain that they don’t allow you to take baskets out of the store, so I usually grab a cart even if I’m only getting a couple items. The pricing here can be high. This week, for example, frozen potatoes/French fries at full price (not on sale) are $3.69 at stop and shop and $4.69 here. It’s 2022 so everyone can cross check prices on competitors apps, to some it might not matter but some of us want to save a few dollars.Twice now I have purchased products that have rang up at the wrong price. I’m not crazy about checking receipts but it’s easy to catch if you only buy a few items, so I recommend taking a quick glance at your receipt.Overall it’s your average grocery store.

The Asian Manager of this location is a racist person. He picks and chooses who he is nice to. Very unprofessional and rude only to certain customers. I'm sure I'm not the only person he has done this to problem is with people like him is nobody says anything an it continues. This guy shouldn't be working with the public at all especially in a management position. Never had a bad experience at any other location other than his in Glenbrook.

Been going here for years. Wide aisles, fast check out, great deli service, consistent stock in aisles. I allways know where to find what I want. Great oldies music. Good shop rite deals. Floors always clean.

Not bashing, just giving some tough love here.• Curbside appeal needs work.• Fresh produce usually is on its way out so I've stayed away from that section.• The customer service leaves room for improvement.In four years, I've never heard one rep ask anyone if they need help. This includes the owner. They're not mean at all, and for the most part, they are nice enough when you approach them, but a little effort in all aspects of this business operation will go a long way.

THE FROND END GUY IS AN AS.S.H.O.L... Screamed at a poor girl from one corner like an maniac asking her if she paid for her groceries when she clearly made the line and paid like everybody else. I couldn't believe my eyes.. They lost two local customers today. Shameful person...Just be careful with their expiration dates on foods.. Is very normal for me already to pick a product from the shelve and find that is already expired.. that without me tion the average 20%-30% price hike compared with the grade A located not too far from them at Shippan..

I recently visited Grade A on the 30th of June and I was surprised to see a product on the shelf with a sell-by date of June 12, 2021. I sorted through the product and was able to find in-code product. Just a word of wise to check the expiration dates on their grocery items as I've seen this before at this store.

Peaceful and relaxing shopping experience in here. Not many people and no rush at the checkout counters..The prices are different and a bit more than the Shoprite. Had to leave some products and return one because they were costly.

Today I went to my local shop rite which I’ve been to MANY times. I brought my PSYCHIATRIC SERVICE DOG into the store which I have done many times. A manager pulled me aside and told me that dogs are not allowed in the store. I told him this was a service dog. He then continued to tell me that dogs are not allowed in the store. I reiterated that she was a service dog and said she was psychiatric dog specifically. He asked me for identification or proof of this which is 100% against the ADA laws “Under ADA laws, service animals are not required to register, wear any identification such as vests or tags, nor is there any paperwork that you can require of someone to prove that their animal is a service animal”. To end the conversation, he rushed me into a line and asked me to “hurry up and leave otherwise customers would complain”. I am very disappointed in my local grocery store.

Well organized...well stocked, courteous n helpful staff especially at the fresh produce section.we do our weekly grocery shopping at GRADE A only,a good time to go for shopping is around mid day as the store ( fresh produce)is well replenished/ stocked by then .They've started stocking BEYOND MEAT PRODUCTS off late.TheresPlenty of parking available ,easy check out.overall its always a very happy trip to the store.

It's a good place to shop everyday groceries, fresh products, good variety (not comparable with fairway), helpful and kind staff and normally the lines are short when is time to pay. The prices are equal to other supermarkets, definitely not cheaper than stop and shop or even fairway.

It's a neighbor store. Limited varieties but with the basic. Maybe a little messy with the productos in the shelf. The delicatessen guys are gentle, but except the mussilm cashiers all other are cold, impersonal and indifferent to the customer. The guy with jacket (manager?), Faustino?, has a puckered face that scares, it's scary to ask anything.

This is basically a medium size Shop Rite. Limited SKUs but it is convenient for getting in and out quickly. I most appreciate their produce specials as well as their fresh fish which can often be purchased at very good prices. Also, one of the few stores that carries both natural casings Sabretts franks and Yankee Doodles. Too bad no Gabilla Knishes. Only Fairway has those.

This is a Shoprite store. Shoprite consistently provides a good experience. In other supermarkets, many checkout lanes are commonly closed leading to a long wait. Shoprite is usually fully staffed, making it convenient for shoppers.
